Chapter 123: Tell her the whole truth!

"Mother You has been taken to Guanju Courtyard, Madam." Upon receiving the news, Granny Wang immediately ran to inform Old Madam Bao.

The old lady was burning incense in the small Buddhist shrine, and upon hearing this, her expression seemed to remain unchanged.

The lit incense sticks were placed in the incense burner, and the old lady stepped back and bowed to the Buddha statue.

Only then did she speak: "As Qingxue's birth mother, Zhou is so unloving to her daughter. She is told to stay in the house and not go anywhere."

It should be Wang Mama.

He added, "There's another matter. Our people sent word that Granny Hu's family members have also been invited to Guanju Courtyard."

The old lady was silent for a moment, then a faint smile appeared on her withered lips: "It seems that her next step is to ask Granny Hu for help."

Granny Wang's face paled slightly. "Yes, it seems the young lady has many questions in her mind and insists on getting an answer."

The old woman's smile vanished, replaced by a sharp and cold tone: "Then give her all the answers. I want to see if she can handle them!"

...

Hu Mama was a household maid brought by Madam Min from her maiden family, and she held a high position in the Marquis's mansion.

Having served Madam Min for many years, he had amassed considerable wealth, but she had few children, possessing only one daughter.

Her husband had passed away long ago, and after her daughter got married, she gave her daughter and son-in-law a sum of money and told them to go out and do business.

Madam Min had given her approval for this matter back then, and ordered Hu Mama's daughter and son-in-law to be freed from their slave status.

After that, Granny Hu devoted herself to serving Madam Min at the Marquis's residence.

Ye Qingxue's investigation revealed that Hu Mama's daughter and son-in-law were quite diligent, running a small food business outside. Although they didn't make a lot of money, they weren't doing badly either.

What surprised Ye Qingxue was that, even though Hu Mama was in the capital and her son-in-law's hometown was also in the capital, the young couple wanted to go to Yongning City next door.

Fortunately, she had asked Uncle Tan and the others to look for Granny Hu's family early on, otherwise there probably wouldn't have been enough time.

Ye Qingxue called Xia Lu over and said, "Go to the back and prepare two rooms so that the couple and their two children can stay separately. Don't let them see each other."

Xia Lu accepted the order and left, while Tan Shan and the others sent over Hu Mama's daughter, son-in-law, and a pair of grandchildren.

After everything was prepared, Hu Mama was also "invited" over by Qiu Shen.

Hu Mama didn't want to come at all; she was forced to come by Qiu Shen. Madam Min had lost power, and no one was there to help her.

Once inside Guanju Courtyard, she tried to struggle, but Qiu Shen simply threw her in front of Ye Qingxue.

Filled with rage, Granny Hu struggled to get up.

But then she saw two wolves, one white and one gray, crouching on either side of her, their eyes blazing and their fangs slightly bared, as if they were about to pounce at any moment.

Her heart pounded, and cold sweat instantly soaked her back. No longer daring to be arrogant, she gritted her teeth and asked Ye Qingxue, "I wonder what purpose the young lady has in summoning me here?"

Ye Qingxue slightly raised her hand, and Qiu Shen and the others were all pushed out.

Doors and windows closed one after another, making a banging sound, and the light in the hall dimmed at a visible speed.

It was as if the bright light had been taken away in an instant, and the huge hall was suddenly empty except for Hu Mama, Ye Qingxue, and the two wolves.

For a moment, Hu Mama felt as if hell had descended upon her. All the color drained from her face, and she shivered violently.

Coming to her senses, she realized that Ye Qingxue was still here. This was definitely not hell; Ye Qingxue was just trying to scare her. She shouldn't panic; she should stay calm.

As a result, she did become much calmer.

But when she spoke, her voice still trembled and became hoarse: "What, what do you want to do!"

Ye Qingxue slowly bent down and leaned towards her, giving Hu Mama a strong sense of pressure.

Ye Qingxue asked, "Granny Hu, on the day Ye Cunsi and Ye Yabing were born fifteen years ago, you switched the two children."

What?! Granny Hu froze, her breathing rapid, staring blankly at Ye Qingxue. How could she know?

Ye Qingxue continued, "Ye Cunsi is actually the child of my father and Madam Zhou, while Ye Yabing is the child of Madam Min."

"In order to seize the title, Madam Min wanted my father to have no sons. And coincidentally, Ye Cunsi and Ye Yabing were born on the same day, so she switched the two children!"

Ye Qingxue was stating a fact, not asking one, as if she had already confirmed it.

The world spun around.

Granny Hu felt herself falling, falling continuously.

Suddenly remembering something, she snapped to attention and exclaimed, "No, that's not true at all! The Second Young Master is Madam Min's son. This old servant was there and saw it with my own eyes!"

“I don’t know where the young lady heard such rumors, but this old servant can swear that there is absolutely no such thing!”

"Even if we assume that Madam Min wanted to switch the two children, how could she possibly do that to Madam Zhou? Both ladies were surrounded by people when they gave birth!"

Ye Qingxue sneered, "My father has been fighting on the battlefield for many years. Min Yingying has been controlling the Marquis's mansion. It's just a matter of exchanging children. What difficulty is there for her?"

Hu Mama said, "The eldest young lady speaks so confidently, it is clear that she has already confirmed that the second young master is born to Madam Zhou. Why bother asking this old servant? Since you are asking this old servant, then this old servant's answer is that the second young master is indeed born to Madam Min!"

Ye Qingxue smiled slightly, her tone calm but threatening: "Granny Hu, your daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons are visiting in my backyard. If you don't tell the truth, their safety may be in danger."

A hint of panic flashed in Granny Hu's eyes, but she still gritted her teeth and insisted: "Eldest Miss, there was absolutely no switching between the Second Miss and the Second Young Master!"
