Chapter 19 Zombies

“Uh uh uh…”

The zombies in the distance seemed to sense Taylor's presence and limped towards him. As they walked, the rotten flesh on their bodies was slightly lifted by the breeze, and the maggots moving around on it continued to release the foul-smelling gas inside the rotten flesh.

After sensing the foul-smelling gas, Taylor frowned, stretched out his hand and shone a breeze, which condensed into a rope to tie up the limping zombie.

He had long since manipulated the Medal of Fire to form a thin film of reddish flame shield on his body surface to prevent infection from certain tiny, imperceptible organisms or viruses.

Taylor walked to the tied-up zombie and silently watched its every move. He found that the zombie was really irrational and had a strong desire to attack flesh and blood creatures or himself. Even if the zombie was tied up and fell to the ground, he would still rub against it and take a bite.

After taking out a knife and cutting off a piece of rotten meat, the zombie showed no reaction and continued to stretch its head to try to bite off a piece of his meat. The light blue wind element supported the piece of rotten meat. Taylor observed it carefully for a moment, and after infiltrating it with his mental power and magic power, he found that it was really an ordinary piece of rotten meat, which had no activity and had lost its vitality.

Then he cut off the zombie's hands, feet, nails, bones, etc. and pulled them out for research. The zombie did not have any abnormal reaction during the whole process and continued to maintain his original goal.

Through the anatomical analysis, preliminary mental analysis and simulated infiltration of the zombies, Taylor discovered that the entire zombie almost uses bones to conduct the magic power in the body to maintain the basic operation of the body, and a transparent hexagonal crystal is condensed in his brain.

This hexagonal crystal is essentially a mixture of life force and spiritual force, and it also absorbs the boiling magical elements around it to control the body's actions.

As for why they have a strong desire to devour Taylor, according to Taylor's own speculation, zombies are essentially dead creatures, and their vitality and mental strength have condensed into a transparent crystal. Because of this, the instinct derived from this transparent crystal, the instinct of self-enhancement controls the actions of the body, causing the zombies to "crave" flesh and blood.

In order to further verify his guess, Taylor did not take out the transparent crystal from the zombie's head. Instead, he went to the woods and caught two rabbits to feed the zombies. After feeding them, Taylor found that the flesh and blood devoured by the zombies entered its internal intestines. After being cut open and taken out, the rabbit meat had become rotten and decayed, and the hexagonal transparent crystal in the zombie's head had grown slightly larger.

The tied-up zombies became Taylor's experimental materials alive, fortunately he had no pain, touch or other senses.

Based on the current conditions, Taylor has done all the experiments he can. The notebook he carries with him also contains five or six pages of speculations, conjectures, analyses, and some preliminary information about creatures like zombies.

Fire elements surged in the palm of his hand, condensing into a fireball. After burning the zombie with fire, he took out a pile of transparent crystals from the ashes and put them in a bottle. Taylor walked into the cabin.

After entering the cabin, the first thing that catches your eye is the strange tools that resemble various furniture but are engraved with various magic circles.

In another room that looked like a kitchen, he could notice magic runes carved under two iron pots and magical energy channels around them. The magic runes in the middle were from two different systems from the witchcraft runes usually used by wizards, but judging from the heat emitted by this rune, the meaning of this magic rune, or what it represented, should be about burning.

Many magic runes and magic connection channels are open, and it is obvious that the owner of this hut is the zombie just now.

Although the accident happened very suddenly, due to the high quality of the cabin and the stability of the magic energy channel, as well as the very active magic elements around it, the cabin did not encounter any accidents, was not frozen into ice or burned into ashes, and remained in a good condition.

Even Taylor, the wizard apprentice, had to sigh that the people in this world have closely linked their lives with magic, and their techniques are quite proficient.

"Sure enough, every world has its merits. The civilization and wisdom derived from them are what wizards yearn for and pursue the most."

Now Taylor felt that this cabin had become a treasure trove of knowledge for him. He immediately picked up a brand new notebook, on the cover of which was written the knowledge record and analysis of the first plane.

He wanted to write down all the magic runes he discovered, saw, and was seeing in action. He had a hunch that if he could fully understand this world's new magic system, it would benefit himself and his future as a wizard.

…………………………

In a huge, desolate city filled with magical elements, zombies of all sizes are wandering on the streets. Some look bloated, while others look abnormally thin. These zombies are walking around aimlessly, not knowing what they need or what they want to do.

In the deepest part of this city, a number of construct puppets with energy crystals installed inside and engraved with magic patterns, driven by magic power, are constantly moving around a barrel-shaped cabin.

Countless energy crystals are buried underground in this barrel-shaped cabin, which are converted into life-rich magical power through a series of energy circuits and magic arrays with natural properties and transmitted into the cabin.

Inside this huge cabin is a fleshy tumor. On the outside it looks like a twisted object made of flesh and blood vessels, but it rises and falls slowly, constantly absorbing the natural power transformed from the magic circle.

Next to this twisted thing, a skeleton was lying in the corner of the wall, and next to the skeleton was a piece of paper written in the language of this world.

In the end, I was right. This world could not limit me. Only the conflict between endless death and endless nature could give rise to a "God" who could lead the whole world to progress...
