Chapter 34: Cretan Wizard

After answering the test questions left by the Cretan wizard, Taylor left the wizard tower under the guidance of the butler puppet and returned to his apprentice dormitory, silently waiting for the final result.

Taylor was now just like the other participating wizard apprentices, sitting on his bed nervously and anxiously, and he had not even continued to study his favorite research experiments, the knowledge points and various structural knowledge that he most wanted to delve into.

In his mind, Kano and Bobby also remained silent. They were a little nervous. After all, this was about Taylor's development in the next few years.

If Taylor didn't have a good mentor or a good person to learn from, and had to rely on his own exploration, he didn't know how long it would take him to become a first-level wizard.

What's more, without a powerful first-level wizard as his backer, Taylor would only be an apprentice with some talent to other wizard apprentices, and he might not get any benefits, whether explicit or implicit.

…………………………

On the other side, five pieces of magic paper were floating in front of the Cretan wizard, showing the answers written by each apprentice who took the test.

Some apprentices wrote one question, some wrote two, and some wrote three, but only four people wrote all five questions.

The grim-looking Cretan wizard waved his arms rapidly. Every time he waved his arms, an answer was thrown aside. A completely new answer was also shown on the magic paper. He was almost pissed off to death by these apprentices.

"Huh? The fire element puppet actually has a water mist rune added to it. Do you believe that the conflict between the water and fire elements will kill you?"

"I am testing your energy veins and the puppet's energy transportation. What did you write? If you continue to maintain the energy flow in this way, the puppet will explode in less than two minutes!"

"Idiots, idiots, why are you all a bunch of idiots?!"

Even though his life level is now different from that of ordinary people and he has become a first-level wizard among extraordinary creatures, Crete now feels that his temples are throbbing and the veins on his forehead are beating continuously.

There are some questions that you clearly cannot answer, but you still have to answer them anyway.

It would be fine if he just gave a hard answer, but he couldn't even make up a lie? It was clearly wrong, but he still wrote it down. Was he testing the tolerance and temper of the youngest wizard? If it was a question about other aspects, Crete might not be angry, but when it came to the puppet construction, which he was best at and valued the most, any mistakes or omissions would be a great irony for him.

Some of the ideas and thoughts are indeed good, and even one or two very individual viewpoints can give him a refreshing feeling, but most of the rest are extremely superficial, and some are even just coping and guessing.

Just when Crete was considering whether or not to accept an apprentice, a completely new answer came into his sight, giving him a completely new feeling.

"This rune is indeed comprehensive, and while it is offensive, it also retains the smooth flow of energy."

"This view is very novel. Not bad, not bad, not bad."

"The earth element puppet carriage is an innovative move. Although its practicality is questionable, it is great to be able to make such an innovation. It also looks good. The resonance between the mud horse and the granite puppet carriage is handled very well, and the energy connection between the two is..."

"Good boy, this conjecture is not bad. If we follow this conjecture, the energy channel and the energy circulation inside the puppet can reduce the consumption further."

"Give up the secrecy of energy patterns and magic power operation, and directly use the magic circle to cast fire, wind blades and lightning..."

"A beggar's version of a constructed puppet. Very interesting idea."

Looking at the answer, Crete was very satisfied. There were many interesting assumptions, as well as assumptions about energy patterns, magic conduction circuits and beggar version puppet constructs. Crete felt that new ideas were constantly emerging in his mind.

Looking at the answer, Crete sometimes thought along these conjectures and ideas, and sometimes was surprised by these designs and laughed out loud.

"This guy is truly a genius in studying constructs and puppets. Let me see who he is."

Crete input a magical power into the paper floating in front of him, and Taylor's name appeared at the beginning of the paper.

After keeping the flash of inspiration in mind and preparing for future research, the Cretan wizard finally remembered where this apprentice Taylor came from.

Isn't this the apprentice full of ambition and imagination that Wizard Mendes and Old Man Oak mentioned to him back then? Originally, Crete thought that if this apprentice failed, he could recruit another apprentice to do odd jobs and repay the favor.

As it turned out, the other party was really competitive, and many of his opinions and ideas gave him a lot of inspiration.

"housekeeper!"

The Cretan wizard called out, and a butler puppet who was dressed meticulously but still looked like a puppet walked in. However, unlike the other puppets, this butler puppet had more lively eyes, as if he had his own soul.

"Owner."

The butler walked up to Crete, lowered his head, and waited respectfully for Crete's orders.

"Go to the apprentice dormitory now and bring me the apprentice Taylor and his luggage. Then take a few puppets to clean up a room. After the room is vacated, the apprentice Taylor will be my apprentice of Crete."

The Cretan wizard's face was filled with smiles. Nothing would make him happier than to receive an apprentice who shared the same ideals as him and could become his assistant.

With such a talent, he might be able to become a first-level wizard like him in the future. By then, the first apprentice he accepts will be able to become a wizard. This will greatly enhance their reputation in the eyes of other wizards, and they will be more confident in speaking in the future.

If you have a first-level wizard apprentice, you can help each other when you encounter danger in the future, right?

"Your will is at my command, my Lord."

Looking at the happy Crete, the housekeeper's eyes also revealed an expression of happiness for his master.

After bowing and greeting Crete, the butler slowly stepped out. After leaving the wizard tower, he immediately called several other ordinary butler puppets who looked stupid to go to the apprentice dormitory with him.

Because he really couldn't calm down, Taylor went out for a walk. When he came back, he saw a puppet dressed as a butler in exquisite clothes, and several other standard butler puppets waiting at the door of his dormitory.

The moment he saw the butler, Taylor's brain started working rapidly, and he quickly realized that he had been chosen by the Cretan wizard.

"Master Taylor, I am the master's butler. The master has decided to make you his apprentice. We are here to help you carry your luggage. You don't have to live here anymore. You will live in the great Crete Wizard Tower in the future."

Taylor was stunned at first when he heard this. He didn't expect that becoming a wizard's apprentice would have such "benefits".

He couldn't refuse. The wizard's invitation was not something an apprentice like him could refuse, and he had no legitimate reason.

"Then can you guys wait at the door for a while? My room is a little... messy. I can pack my luggage myself."

Looking at Taylor's expression, the butler knew what Taylor was thinking at the moment. He smiled slightly, bowed and saluted.

"Of course, Master Taylor."
