Chapter 27 Fierce Battle (asking for monthly ticket, collection, recommendation)

The battle went fairly smoothly.

A honeycomb bomb and a charged Igni flame blew the water ghosts into pieces. Not only did it successfully kill five or six water ghosts, it also successfully blocked their arrogant momentum.

However, the dumber the creature, the less able it is to judge the difference in power between the two sides.

Those water ghosts who were not affected by the explosion and flames were still not afraid at all. They bypassed their companions who were seriously injured and continued to rush towards him with their fangs and claws bared.

Wayne jumped off the railing and returned to the top of the stairs. He did not immediately raise his sword to defend himself. Instead, he walked a few steps to the exit of the stairs, formed a seal with one hand, and pushed downwards, setting an Arden magic trap at the exit of the stairs.

The purple magical light instantly drew a circular ancient magic circle on the ground.

Wayne didn't feel any discomfort standing on it, but if those water ghosts rushed in, they would be immediately affected by the magic circle and bound by the chaotic magic inside, which would severely slow down their movements.

Although this seal does not cause direct damage to monsters in range, its special effects make it very suitable for defensive operations in this advantageous terrain. It is the first choice for demon hunters to deal with light and fast monsters such as ghosts and spirits.

The only pity is that due to material problems, Geralt and Wayne only have one honeycomb bomb each. Otherwise, if they buried a few on the path that the monsters must pass, they might be able to directly kill most of them.

Wayne was concentrating and waiting for the monsters to arrive, when he suddenly heard a huge explosion behind him.

With a quick glance, he saw that Geralt had used a similar method to him, bringing the honeycomb bomb into the group of water ghosts and detonating it.

However, White Wolf's Igni Signet could not attack at such a long distance like Wayne's. He waited until the water ghosts rushed to the entrance of the stairs before he directly lit the fuse and threw the bomb to detonate it.

This also resulted in him being quite close to the explosion site. The power of the honeycomb bomb directly blew the silt at the bottom of the pond, the river water, and the flesh and blood of several unlucky water ghosts everywhere, soaking Geralt like a drowned chicken.

But no matter how embarrassing it was, when the explosion ended and the swarm of water ghosts rushed up the stairs, Wayne and Geralt had to pick up their weapons and fight these monsters that exuded the stench of corpses.

As a veteran, Geralt was already accustomed to such battles. He didn't care about the mud and blood splashed on his body. He leaped close to a water ghost rushing up, knocked away its arm with his shoulder, raised the silver sword high, and chopped it directly at its head.

The silver sword in White Wolf's hand glowed slightly. It was a slender and graceful sword engraved with all kinds of mysterious inscriptions. When it chopped on the water ghost's face, there was almost no resistance and half of its head was cut off in an instant.

After successfully killing one water ghost with one strike, Geralt did not stop. He turned around to avoid the attack of another water ghost. The silver sword drew a perfect arc and chopped the chest of another water ghost.

The sharp sword blade directly cut a wound more than one meter long in its chest. The huge force caused the water ghost to fall on the ground wailing, and one could even see the internal organs still beating through the wound.

However, before this water ghost died, more water ghosts rushed up from the stairs.

They didn't care at all about their fellows being chopped to the ground. They stretched out their claws, roared, and surrounded Geralt.

Although Geralt's dodging skills were agile and sophisticated, and he dodged the attacks of several water ghosts in succession, the large number of monsters surrounding him undoubtedly compressed his space for dodging.

As the two sides fought further, there was less and less room for each other to maneuver, and Geralt had to frequently cast the Quen Sign, dodging and exchanging injuries for each other, and he successfully killed the monsters that surrounded him.

Fortunately, although these water ghosts are ferocious, they are almost at the lowest level among monsters. Their claws may be able to tear open human flesh, but they cannot break through metal armor.

In front of the combat-experienced White Wolf Geralt, in the end, he could only be left with bruises of varying sizes on non-fatal parts of his body.

Wayne's battle situation was completely different from Geralt's. When the water ghosts rushed up from the stairs, the first thing they encountered was the Arden trap used to slow down the water ghosts.

Wayne stood in the center of the trap and did not have direct contact with the water ghost. He was very clear about his advantages. Whenever a water ghost tried to break through the trap and attack him.

Wayne would rely on his agility to roll over and avoid the water ghost's attack.

Once two or three water ghosts gathered on the magic circle, he would stretch out his left hand and use a powerful Alder Seal that had been charged and strengthened to knock the water ghosts towards the rock wall, causing their thin bodies to hit the wall hard.

Of course, this roundabout way of fighting is not only time-consuming, but also consumes a lot of chaos magic in the body, and is not suitable for most demon hunters.

However, with the blessing of the swallow potion and the tawny owl potion in his body, the chaos magic in Wayne's body was just enough. He could even find time to use the Axis Seal to confuse one or two water ghosts, causing them to fight among themselves and disrupt the water ghosts' attack rhythm.

In this way, the high-intensity battle lasted for more than twenty minutes.

Geralt, who chose close combat, ended the fight first. He panted heavily, held the silver sword stained with blood and filth under his arm, and wiped the blood off it.

Then he gritted his teeth, grinned, and walked towards Wayne who was still fighting.

When he walked near Wayne, the battle here was nearing its end. One of the last three water ghosts was controlled by Wayne's Axis Seal. It ignored the danger of having its belly ripped open and bit one of its companions hard.

But its master Wayne showed no mercy and directly used a powerful Igni Seal, causing fierce flames to directly cover the three water ghosts.

Out of an instinctive fear of fire and high temperature, the water ghost with a ruptured stomach broke free from the control of the Axis seal, and struggled frantically while wailing and burning all over.

However, before it was buried in the flames, a slender silver sword, like a meteor, instantly pierced into its eye socket, and then turned the brain in the skull into a paste.

Geralt stood aside and watched Wayne's battle. When he saw that his armor was covered with dust but there was no sign of being hit by the monster, he couldn't help but praise him.

"Wayne."

"Although your fighting style is like a donkey rolling on the ground, which is very undignified."

"But I have to commend you on your prudence and caution."

He rubbed his ribs where he had been hit many times by the water ghost. The pain made White Wolf couldn't help but grin.

"Even an old demon hunter like me would be beaten up and covered in wounds when facing so many water ghosts."

"But you are still unscathed in such a fierce war, which is undoubtedly something worthy of praise."

Hearing Geralt's praise, Wayne turned around and wiped the dust off his face with his bloodless hand.

He grinned and was about to chat and joke with Geralt when his eyes suddenly focused and he noticed a vague and hazy gas appearing behind Geralt.

A hunchbacked, ugly monster with strong limbs and sharp claws emerged from the gas.

Before the white wolf could react, the monster had already raised its sharp claws high, and it clawed down fiercely with a speed as if it was splitting mountains and cracking rocks.

"Get out of the way, Geralt!"

Wayne shouted instinctively, formed a seal with his left hand, and pushed forward suddenly. The Ald Seal instantly hit the monster that suddenly appeared.

The attack happened too suddenly. Although Geralt dodged and avoided the fatal neck area at Wayne's reminder, his back was still hit hard by the sharp claws.

"ah!"

With a scream, the famous White Wolf Geralt was knocked away.
