Chapter 38 Dandelion

After all, the huge bonus on the table had basically nothing to do with them, but being able to have a free meal and watch an exciting gambling game was no less than a grand celebration for these civilians who lived in the Middle Ages and had extremely scarce means of entertainment.

And when those people with bad intentions saw Wayne directly take out a quarter of the coins on the table to entertain the onlookers, and the remaining coins were not even enough as bonuses, the jealousy and greed in their hearts immediately dissipated a lot.

The two on the opposite side are legendary demon hunters. If there is not enough benefit, even a fool would not want to face these mutant swordsmen.

The next day, Wayne woke up in the best guest room in the tavern. When he arrived at the lobby on the first floor, it was almost noon.

He was just about to see if Geralt was also drinking on the first floor when a funny but lively and pleasant voice, like a chanting of poetry, came into his ears.

"Geralt, someone's coming downstairs. Uh-huh, is this the youngest witcher in your school, Mr. Wayne?"

"Wow, golden hair, a handsome elf boy, a Gwent master, and a legendary demon hunter."

"In just one night, he became the talk of the town, with everyone discussing his generosity, his good fortune and his unrivalled Gwent skills."

"This is really an excellent material. I will write it into my poems. It will definitely be very attractive."

"By the way, he doesn't have a nickname yet, right? I also want to think of a resounding nickname for him, just like the nickname I gave you, 'White Wolf'."

"In the future, this will surely become a legendary title that will resound throughout the entire Northern Kingdom."

Hearing this somewhat chattering voice, Wayne subconsciously looked in the direction where the voice came from.

I immediately made eye contact with a young man who was dressed in an exaggerated and flashy manner.

He wore a purple hat with bright feathers and colorful aristocratic tights. He was handsome, had a lively manner and a romantic temperament.

Obviously, the two parties did not know each other at all, but when he saw Wayne, he acted like a friend he had not seen for a long time. He stood up and waved to him enthusiastically, shouting:

"Come and sit here, Wayne. Geralt and I have been waiting for you for a long time. The big gambling game is about to start. Come and have a drink to refresh yourself."

"I will come to help you host this event in the afternoon."

"This big gamble will definitely become an unforgettable memory for the residents of Fugang."

Geralt, who was sitting next to him, seemed to be very clear about the young man's character. Seeing a little surprise on Wayne's face, he looked at Wayne with a look that showed there was no need to be surprised. Although there was no expression on his face, he still revealed a sense of embarrassment.

"Come and sit down, Wayne."

"This is Dandelion, a friend of mine, who just arrived here today by boat."

In fact, Geralt didn't need to introduce him. Wayne, who had played the game and read the original novel, could probably guess the identity of this young man.

Dandelion, the great poet, is actually a legendary figure. He is just a powerless poet, but he seems to have some kind of fateful connection with Geralt. They always meet in various strange ways and then embark on some weird adventures.

Although he always brings all kinds of troubles to the White Wolf when he is with Geralt, when he is really in danger, Dandelion is an absolutely reliable friend and a good brother who will never betray Geralt.

But to be honest, this guy is really talkative. When Wayne sat opposite him, this guy was like a loudspeaker that never stopped. He asked questions here and there, talked about his own experiences from time to time, imagined his future life, talked about poetry, and talked about history.

Blah blah, blah blah, they talked from before the meal to after the meal and never stopped for several hours.

But Dandelion is also very good at stirring up trouble. He never seems to be stage-frightened, or he is born to like attracting other people's attention.

After lunch, he took the initiative to jump out and said that he would help Wayne organize the afternoon gambling. He took out a lute and sang poems in the tavern while loudly greeting the onlookers waiting around and the participants who wanted to join the gambling.

He is a young man with great talent for poetry. He is witty, humorous, and has clear pronunciation. He is also able to mobilize the emotions of the masses. The music he plays is melodious and the poems he sings are also graceful and fluent.

He can also tell a joke from time to time, making the surrounding residents laugh.

The residents of Floating Harbor had never seen such a poet before, and they were all attracted by Dandelion's temperament, as if he was the protagonist of this gamble.

Wayne found this very interesting. He looked at Geralt who had been drinking silently beside him and said with a smile:

"Is this poet always like this? He is an interesting man. Traveling with him will surely be a lot of fun."

Geralt shrugged, his tone revealing helplessness.

"It's more than fun. It's simply a troublesome person."

"I've known him for less than a year, and I've been in jail twice because of him."

"However, he is a friend worth associating with. He is not prejudiced against us demon hunters like others. Although he may cause trouble, he will never betray his friends."

Geralt took another sip of liquor, grinned and exhaled, then said to Wayne: "After we finish the big gambling today, let's leave here quickly."

"Because of the disturbance you caused, the mayor of Fugang is very dissatisfied with us. He even refused to let me accept the commission listed in the notice."

"He also threatened me that if we didn't leave quickly, he would have the soldiers take us to jail."

"If you don't want to go to jail with me or become a wanted criminal."

"Then finish the matter here as soon as possible and leave here early."

Wayne nodded when he heard this. His purpose was to gain experience in the Gwent level. After the big gambling, his goal was achieved and he would no longer have conflicts with the mayor here.

This incident also reminded him that if he wanted to hold such a large-scale gambling event with huge influence in other places, he should first establish good relations with the local managers, and it is best to report it in advance.

No manager likes troublemakers, and if one causes trouble everywhere, he will quickly become an unpopular demon hunter.
