Chapter 97: Audience with the Lady of the Lake

Demon hunters, poets, knights, sorceresses, magicians, dragons, and cute baby dragons, of different races and professions, shared a simple dinner and chatted about topics of mutual interest, then after sunrise, they parted ways one after another.

Although Dandelion had finished his studies for the first half of the year, he was a man who could not sit still. The dragon hunting incident here had just ended, and he was already ready to go to other countries to find more stories worthy of being written into poems.

This man seems unreliable, but he is actually very hardworking and very proactive. He has been working hard to become the number one bard in the north since a long time ago.

He is involved in every major event Geralt encounters, and he is able to turn danger into safety every time. I wonder if this is good luck or bad luck?

The magician Dorrigare, although this magician did not provide any substantial help throughout the whole process, but Borch was a generous man. He gave Dorrigare a piece of his own shed golden dragon scale as a gift.

Although it was not a valuable thank-you gift, it was very much in line with the preferences of this wizard who advocated balance in all things. He treasured it and kept it away, which could be considered a good relationship.

As for the Borch family, they planned to live in this cave for a few more days. After the green dragon's injuries were completely healed and the young dragon grew a little, they would set out with the warriors of the Zerekan tribe and return to Zerekan.

By then, Borch would visit Wayne midway and deliver the reward he had promised to Wayne.

As for the two enemies, Geralt and Yennefer.

"What? You're going to see the Lady of the Lake?"

Geralt was surprised when he heard this, and looking at Wayne's calm expression, he even felt it was a bit ridiculous.

What did this guy think of the audience with the Lady of the Lake, a visit between friends? But thinking about how Wayne had stayed at Keira's house every other day in Vizima, without caring about her status as a royal advisor, he felt relieved.

This young witcher was different from their Wolf School predecessors, he was still young and at a very active age, more enthusiastic and motivated than other witchers.

Wayne nodded, glanced at Yennefer who was beside Geralt, and said, "Yes, I promised Lady Yennefer that I would ask the Lady of the Lake if there is any way to help her regain her fertility."

"Also, I have something I need to consult with Her Excellency the Goddess."

After hearing Wayne's answer, Geralt silently glanced at his sorceress. As a veteran bootlicker of Yennefer, he knew very well that the fertility issue had always been Yennefer's concern. This was a wish that the sorceress longed for. For this wish, she even tried to control the genie in the magic lamp and almost lost her life.

But think about it, as a demon hunter, I can't make a woman pregnant. So whose child will Yennefer have after she regains her fertility?

When he thought of this question, Geralt suddenly felt that his silver hair seemed to be changing color.

Seeing that Wayne kept his promise and cared about her affairs, Yennefer looked at the young demon hunter with some surprise, and at the same time, her dislike for him was reduced a little.

In fact, to be honest, Yennefer is one-quarter elven, and Wayne is half elven. In the eyes of humans, both of them are half-elves.

"Thank you, Wayne. If you really help me realize this wish, I will never forget your help."

Seeing that neither Geralt nor Yennefer objected, Wayne turned to look at Knight Ike who was forgotten in the corner.

Wayne didn't sympathize with him, he just felt it was a pity.

"Geralt, when I go to see the Lady of the Lake later, you carry Knight Ike on your back and come with us."

"Ordinary people can no longer heal him. If the goddess is willing to help him, there may still be a glimmer of hope."

Of course, whether to save him or not depends on the Lady of the Lake's own thoughts. Ike can be said to be an extremely simple yet extremely complex person. To ordinary civilians, he is definitely a good man, but to his family, he is neither a good father nor a good husband.

However, he is extremely devout in his faith, and his fighting ability is among the best among ordinary humans. If he can really convert to the faith of the Lady of the Lake, he will be a very useful tool.

Taking him to the Lady of the Lake was a way of returning the favor to the goddess.

After the four of them left the green dragon's lair, they did not go far. The Lady of the Lake once said that as long as it was a lake, no matter how big or small, Wayne could contact her there.

Yesterday, when he was flying in the sky on the green dragon, he discovered a small lake in the forest. Now the group's destination is there.

It is worth mentioning that Wayne's mount Lucifer was well preserved by Tia and Via, and Yennefer's black horse was also found by the sorceress through magic. However, Geralt's Radish was not so lucky. When the white wolf found the gray mare, it had been eaten by the beasts in the forest and only half of it was left.

Fortunately, the three plunderer brothers in the dragon hunting team were all dead, and their mounts became ownerless. Wayne asked Geralt to choose a younger mare as his new mount. As expected, the horse was still named Carrot by the White Wolf.

Wayne took the three people into the forest, but he did not take them to the lake to meet the Lady of the Lake before obtaining her consent. This act of making a decision on his own was too rude to a god.

So Wayne just let Geralt and Yennefer wait a few hundred meters away. After he met the Lady of the Lake, he would let the goddess decide whether to meet them.

Soon, Wayne was the only one left by the lake in the forest. He came to the lake, looked at the clear water like a mirror, and slowly stretched his right hand with the ring into the water according to the method taught by the goddess. At the same time, he whispered the name of the goddess of the lake and imagined the image of the goddess in his heart.

And just as he did this, the ring he was wearing on his right hand, as he wished, turned back into a strand of long golden hair.

The long hair did not slip away from Wayne's fingers, but seemed to grow freely, quickly extending from his right hand to the center of the lake.

After a "ding dong" sound that seemed to knock on the soul, a circle of ripples appeared from the center of the lake, and a beautiful girl, naked, with a perfect figure, draped in a white veil, exuding an aura of holiness and tranquility, stood out on the lake.

She stared at Wayne quietly with her eyes as blue as the sky, and said with her red lips slightly parted: "My warrior, you summoned me, is there anything you need help with?"

Wayne first stared at the goddess with admiration for a few seconds, then lowered his head, bowed slightly, and said, "Yes, Your Excellency, I do have a few things I would like to ask you about."
