Chapter 98: Companions

Maureen came to Adrian's laboratory.

He knocked on the door and entered the lab only after hearing Adrian's voice.

"Maureen." There was a strange green light on Adrian's glasses, and in his hand was a tube of boiling green potion. Countless tiny black flames appeared from the void like arrogant little black snakes, burning fiercely and licking the glass test tube.

When Maureen came in, Adrian let out a breath and placed the test tube in his hand on the shelf next to him.

As soon as the test tube touched the rack, the tiny black flame burning on the surface of the test tube slowly died down and finally disappeared. The boiling green liquid also slowly calmed down and turned into a semi-solidified gelatinous liquid.

"Teacher." Maureen bowed slightly towards Adrian.

"Maureen, you're just in time." Adrian gently adjusted his glasses. He looked at Maureen with a soft light in his eyes and said, "I just prepared some gifts. Now that you're here, I can give them to you."

As he spoke, Adrian waved his hand lightly, and a wave of energy appeared in the void. A long dark golden box slowly floated out and hovered in front of Morin.

"Take it, this is something I give you." Adrian looked at Maureen and said softly.

Maureen bowed slightly to Adrian again and took the long dark golden box.

"Maureen, I hope you can return safely." Adrian blessed.

"Teacher, I think I will be safe."

Maureen answered.

He only said peace, but did not say return.

Adrian smiled, talked to Maureen again for a while, and then let Maureen leave.

Not long after Morin's figure disappeared, another sound of footsteps suddenly rang out.

"Mr. Adrian." The person who appeared here was Mace. He saluted Adrian, but it was obvious that he did not show much respect.

"Mes, how about it, have you fully understood the knowledge I taught you during this period of time?"

Adrian asked calmly, his tone sounding cold and distant.

"Thank you for your teachings, Mr. Adrian. I understand it quite well." Mace said softly. He seemed to have undergone a great change, from being plain and ordinary to being elegant and graceful.

This is the behavior and temperament that can only be cultivated through the influence of a noble family over a long period of time.

"That's good. In this case, it really is worth it for that old fellow Austin to send you to me to learn my pharmacy." Adrian's voice was emotionless as he said, "Hard Castle is really bold. Aren't they afraid that you, Mace, will die in the Dark Forest?"

"Also, Mace, I have to say you've done a pretty good job over the years."

"Besides, you have quite a bit of courage."

Adrian turned his head and looked quietly at Mace, his nominal apprentice, who was standing in front of him.

"Are you really not afraid of death?" Adrian said softly, "Mace."

Mace's expression remained unchanged. He smiled, giving people a warm feeling, and said, "Mr. Adrian, I believe in my grandfather, and I also believe in you as a person."

"You are one of the most powerful pharmacists in the entire Parsis subcontinent. It is always worth taking a little risk to learn pharmacy from you."

"Also, for the sake of the knowledge of ancient pharmacy, you won't let me get hurt, right?"

Mace bowed slightly, showing courtesy to Adrian, as if he had returned to the past and he was still Adrian's apprentice.

"I have almost fully understood ancient pharmacy." Adrian said lightly.

Metz's face immediately turned ugly. He tried hard to keep his expression calm, but his body stiffened involuntarily, and a hint of fear appeared in his eyes.

"Okay, Mace, you go down." Adrian looked at Mace quietly, then waved his hand and said so.

"Mr. Adrian...Director...Instructor, I'm going down first."

Mace's expression didn't change much, but he was obviously relieved. Then he bowed and slowly left Adrian's room.

Adrian watched Mace's gradually disappearing back and thought of Maureen and Winnie again.

He sighed and then laughed silently.

Outside the corridor, where Adrian didn't see.

After walking for a long time, Mace turned around with lingering fear and looked at Adrian's laboratory.

He let out a long breath, feeling terrified.

Suddenly, Metz's eyes changed, and there was an ancient and vicissitudes of life in his eyes, as if he had experienced a long time, extremely long time ago.

"Adrian, hey, Adrian, my old friend..."

A strange green light flashed in Mace's eyes, and he laughed softly in a hoarse, low voice.

However, these strange scenes only flashed by for a moment, and soon, Metz recovered.

"Grandfather?" Mace said with some doubt. Just now, he faintly felt a familiar breath, which belonged to his grandfather Auston.

Although he was a little confused, Mace didn't think much about it. He turned around and walked towards his room.

…………

Maureen walked down the corridor.

He returned to his residence, tidied himself up a bit, and then drove his carriage towards the mission area.

Regarding this garrison, Morin is not actually alone, but with several other wizard apprentices. Morin has to find them, meet up with them, and then set off together.

He appeared in the mission area, and after a quick look, he found his future companions.

"I'm Maureen, Maureen Olsen." Maureen glanced at the people in front of him, walked to the front and said this.

What appeared before him were three wizard apprentices, two men and one woman. As for the other guards such as the middle-level knights, they were ignored by Morin. For Morin now, except for the most powerful upper-level knights, the rest of the people were not even qualified to be looked at by him.

The wizard apprentices were stunned for a moment, but they quickly reacted.

"I'm Hassan." One of the wizard apprentices introduced himself.

"Lis." The name of the female wizard apprentice was Lis. She looked at Morin, raised her eyes, glanced at Morin, and an inexplicable arrogance appeared in her eyes.

The last wizard apprentice was quite handsome, with a bright smile on his face and his golden hair falling down like the sunshine.

He walked up, his laughter was very hearty, and he said, "Molin? So you are Morin. I'm glad to go with you and go to the Panso Mountains to garrison together."

"By the way, Daniel, my name is Daniel!"
