Chapter 17 Only one king-size bed room left

"You, you...Qin Hezhou..."

Pei Zhiyu's face was pale, and he was crying as he spoke, "Why aren't you dead yet?"

This sounded a bit strange, and Qin Hezhou couldn't help laughing.

Then Pei Zhiyu threw herself into his arms, tears pouring out, and she hugged him and cried.

Oreo was frightened by her crying and paced anxiously between his two owners.

Qin Hezhou was hugged so tightly that he didn't know where to put his hands.

He came back early, and as soon as he entered the door, he remembered Pei Zhiyu's request to take the dog for a walk, so he tied Oreo's leash and went out.

I started walking around and wanted to go back, but Oreo refused to go back for some reason.

When Qin Hezhou stepped into the community again, he saw thick smoke billowing out from his building. He called Pei Zhiyu, but the line was busy.

He was worried that something had happened to Pei Zhiyu, so he ran downstairs in a hurry and happened to see her talking to the firefighters.

Seeing that she was fine, Qin Hezhou was about to breathe a sigh of relief, but the next second he saw her rushing into the fire like crazy, and neither of the two firefighters could hold her back.

Qin Hezhou immediately went to hug the person in his arms, "Why are you crying so miserably? It's okay."

Pei Zhiyu hadn't come back to her senses yet. She was crying so hard that she was out of breath. Her eyes and nose were red from crying, and she looked like a frightened kitten.

"It's really okay, Rongrong." He couldn't help but call Pei Zhiyu by his nickname.

"You're not inside. Where did you go?" She was much calmer, but her speech was still intermittent.

Qin Hezhou wiped her tears and said with a smile: "Walking the dog, didn't you tell me not to forget to walk the dog?"

Oreo barked twice in response.

Pei Zhiyu then noticed the dog beside her. She casually touched the puppy's head, then looked at Qin Hezhou and said, "I thought you were going to die in there..."

"Why, are you afraid of being a widow?" He teased her deliberately, trying to make her relax.

"Um."

She answered so seriously that Qin Hezhou's smile froze on his face. He felt distressed and hugged Pei Zhiyu in his arms to comfort her.

"I'm alive and well, don't worry, I won't let you become a widow—"

He was comforting someone when he was suddenly pushed away by the person in his arms. He was a little confused and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Did you see what I took?"

"What?"

Pei Zhiyu's throat had not yet recovered, and his voice was hoarse, so Qin Hezhou couldn't hear clearly.

She gestured hard, "A box, for Christmas!"

"This?" The firefighter came over with something that had been flattened and had no shape to speak of.

“…”

Qin Hezhou took it from the firefighter first. Could this thing be...

apple?

Although I don't want to admit it, this is indeed the best-looking apple that Pei Zhiyu specially picked.

"I originally wanted to return the gift, but I didn't expect it to turn out like this." Pei Zhiyu muttered softly.

Qin Hezhou remembered that before he came back, he saw Pei Zhiyu chatting with a little girl at the station for a long time. It turned out that she was buying apples for him.

He smiled, not caring at all that the gift box had been deformed, and had to put the treasure in his arms.

"I like it very much," he said.

Pei Zhiyu opened his mouth but couldn't say anything because he was interrupted by the firefighter who was eating dog food.

He cast an envious look at Qin Hezhou, "Brother, where can you find a wife like this? She really loves you. She rushed in with such force that even ten bulls couldn't pull her back. My arms are sore."

Pei Zhiyu realized it belatedly and felt a little embarrassed, so he apologized to the firefighters again.

Qin Hezhou said nothing, but stared at Pei Zhiyu from behind, unconsciously tightening the apple in his hand.

He muttered to himself in a voice no one could hear: "Yes, she loves me very much."

The fire was quickly put out. We learned from the community that the tragedy was caused by the third-floor neighbor's improper use of electricity.

Because Pei Zhiyu was a tenant, she could only contact the landlord to handle it.

The landlord estimated that the house could not be repaired in the short term, so he proposed to Pei Zhiyu to terminate the lease.

Now that things were like this, she had no choice but to agree.

Fortunately, the landlord was a reasonable man and promised to pay a penalty as compensation, and the damaged property in the house would be settled later.

"I'll transfer some money to you, let's go to the hotel first." The landlord said kindly.

Pei Zhiyu confiscated it. She didn't like owing favors to others.

It was just getting dark, and two people and a dog were walking aimlessly on the street, with very different thoughts in their minds.

Pei Zhiyu never expected that he would lose his home the next second after he resigned and prepared to make great achievements.

It is not difficult to find a hotel to stay temporarily, but it is difficult to find a new house, and I don’t know when the losses can be compensated.

A little upset.

"Oh." Qin Hezhou sighed first.

"What?" Pei Zhiyu was puzzled.

He said, "The bed you just bought for me was burned down."

Pei Zhiyu's worried expression disappeared and he laughed out loud, "They will compensate you."

"Then will you buy me a new bed when the time comes?" Qin Hezhou asked persistently.

"Why?"

"You're not going to move into a new house and let me sleep on the sofa, are you? Besides, that was the first gift you gave me." Qin Hezhou raised the deformed apple and continued, "I have to buy this one too."

He is so childish, Pei Zhiyu thought.

I was so childish when I was in school. I pestered her for half a month just to get my umbrella.

But what could she do? She was moved.

Her nose felt sore, but crying now would be even more embarrassing. Pei Zhiyu brought the dog over and pushed Qin Hezhou to find a hotel.

But what is frustrating is that most hotels do not allow pets to stay and will politely refuse admission as soon as they see students with dogs.

"It's getting dark. If there's really no hotel that can accommodate a dog, why not go to my friend's house?"

Zhong Yue just happened to move out of her home, and Pei Zhiyu was about to call her for help.

"Need not."

"Um?"

Qin Hezhou pointed ahead and suggested, "Let's go ask the store ahead."

It was a star-rated hotel, and Pei Zhiyu felt it was not good at first sight, but she didn't know that it was owned by Qin's company.

She wanted to call Zhong Yue, but was pulled into the hotel by Qin Hezhou.

When the front desk staff saw a dog coming in, they immediately wanted to chase the people away, but before they could speak, they saw Qin Hezhou.

As receptionists, they had to memorize what important people looked like, and she immediately recognized that this was their boss, Mr. Qin.

"Hello, can dogs stay here?" Pei Zhiyu asked with gritted teeth.

"Oh, sorry, we..." The receptionist was about to refuse, but she caught a glimpse of the boss frowning and immediately swallowed the rest of the sentence.

Changing the subject, "Yes, you can live here, no problem."

"Really?" Pei Zhiyu couldn't believe it.

The receptionist glanced at Qin Hezhou, and seeing him nod, she confirmed, "Of course."

Then she asked Pei Zhiyu, "Madam, how many rooms do you need?"

"Uh, let's..." Pei Zhiyu didn't expect the other party to ask this. He paused for two seconds and finally decided, "Two rooms."

After all, the previous embarrassment is still fresh in my mind.

It’s better to live separately.

But Qin Hezhou was not happy, and his reluctance was evident in his words.

The receptionist noticed something unusual between the two and naturally followed the boss's wishes. She immediately said apologetically, "Sorry, ma'am, we only have one king-size room left today. Do you still need one?"
