Ever since learning that Pei Zhiyu was pregnant, almost the entire Qin family's attention has been drawn to her.
The old lady would run to Fenglan Jingyuan every few days, and she really wanted to see her granddaughter-in-law and unborn great-grandson every day.
This made Pei Zhiyu feel more stressed. After the old lady left, she leaned on Qin Hezhou's arms as if relieved, and said worriedly: "This can't go on..."
Qin Hezhou mistakenly thought she was annoyed, so he tried to comfort her, "If you're not used to it, I'll tell grandma not to come so often, so that you can have some time to rest."
But Pei Zhiyu sat up after hearing this, frowned and snorted coldly: "Am I really so ungrateful in your heart?"
"Of course not!" he denied hastily.
"I'm worried that she's too old to run around so often." As she spoke, she lowered her head and tapped Qin Hezhou's arm lightly with her hand.
After a moment, she hesitated and asked, "How about we move back home to take care of the baby?"
Qin Hezhou was stunned for a moment. "Are you sure? There are so many people in Xiangshan, and I'm worried you won't be able to adapt."
He remembered that Pei Zhiyu had always been very private and didn't like living in crowded places.
Why did you suddenly change your mind?
"That's the advice your grandmother gave you," he said firmly, unable to think of any other possibility.
As expected, Pei Zhiyu nodded in agreement.
But then she added, "It's not entirely because of what grandma said. I also want to visit the place where you grew up."
"Then we'll move after we come back from watching the meteor shower, okay?"
"Yeah." She accepted it happily.
The day of camping soon arrived, and Qin Hezhou personally drove Pei Zhiyu to the mountains on the outskirts of Jiangzhou City.
This is the highest mountain in Jiangzhou.
Likewise, this is where they first met.
Pei Zhiyu, who was pregnant, was very sleepy. She started yawning again after sleeping all the way to the campsite.
Qin Hezhou set up the tent very quickly, then laid out the bedding for her and let her go to sleep first.
"Then remember to wake me up early, and I'll wait for the meteor shower with you." Pei Zhiyu instructed sleepily.
"Yes, go to sleep." He said as he patted her back gently, as if coaxing a child.
I just used the baby sleep tips I learned online on her in advance.
Pei Zhiyu gradually fell asleep in joy. The clothes she was lying on were filled with the scent of Qin Hezhou, which made her feel extremely at ease and allowed her to sleep particularly soundly.
The meteor shower is expected to arrive around 10:30 p.m., and people online say that this prediction is very accurate with almost no deviation.
But--
Qin Hezhou looked down at the watch face. It was already eleven forty-five and the sky was still pitch black.
Not even half a star.
It would be a bit disappointing if the meteor shower didn’t come after planning such a date with great difficulty.
He didn't even dare to wake Pei Zhiyu up.
Time passed minute by minute, and suddenly there was a noise behind me, the sound of quilt and clothes rubbing against each other.
Pei Zhiyu's lazy voice came: "What time is it? Why didn't you call me?"
"It's almost twelve o'clock...the meteor shower hasn't come yet. I saw you were sleeping very soundly, so I wanted to let you sleep a little longer." Qin Hezhou explained.
Seeing Pei Zhiyu coming out of the tent, he immediately took off his coat and put it on her for fear that she would catch a cold.
While doing this, he carefully glanced at her expression several times, but did not find any disappointment on her face.
Pei Zhiyu patted the mat and sat down beside him. Looking at the dark sky, she said, "It seems that we can't trust everything these experts say."
"Will you be disappointed?" he asked.
"Won't."
"Why?"
"Well..." She put her arm around Qin Hezhou's arm and rested her head on his shoulder. "The emphasis of the sentence 'I want to watch the meteor shower with you' is on the front, not the back."
"Being with you is the first priority, what we do is secondary."
Pei Zhiyu continued in a playful tone: "What's there to be disappointed about? I like to stay quietly in places like the mountains and the sea, or we can chat."
The two looked at each other. Qin Hezhou looked at Pei Zhiyu's eyes that were shining like stars and fell into memories.
He suddenly said, "This is where we first met. You saved me in the woods."
Pei Zhiyu was stunned for a moment, as if searching his mind for memories about this matter. His expression changed slightly, and suddenly he grabbed his hand and said seriously:
"wrong!"
She said firmly: "The first time I saw you was at school."
School?
Qin Hezhou thought that she might regard the time when he lent her an umbrella on a rainy day as their first meeting.
"It was the second time I saw you on a rainy day. It was during a school outing at night. Someone got lost in the middle of the night and you followed the seniors out to rescue them."
Qin Hezhou explained slowly and calmly, "You rescued a boy from a very deep pit—that was me."
"Tsk, I know!"
Pei Zhiyu lowered his eyes and smiled, revealing the story that he had never mentioned and was about to forget in front of Qin Hezhou's puzzled eyes.
Just before the trip, Pei Zhiyu happened to be helping a senior from the Student Union sort out the receipt forms.
When she turned to a form, the senior student sighed deeply, with worry written all over her face. She told Pei Zhiyu that she was facing an extremely difficult decision, which might be a matter of life and death.
"Is it that serious?" Pei Zhiyu didn't quite believe it. She chuckled and said, "Isn't it just handing in the receipt? I'll go for you."
The senior student was delighted for a moment, and just as she was about to give her the order, she suddenly felt something was wrong: "Oh, forget it. Don't get involved in this unlucky thing..."
