Chapter 19 You're So Good to Me
Li Chuan bent down to help pick up the scattered talisman paper and whispered:
"Whatever your feud may be, what he said is true. Over the years, he has searched almost every special school and mental institution in the country."
He paused and added, "I go every time I have a holiday."
Gu Yuan was really angry and got angry for a while.
After a moment of silence, he finally sighed: "Gu Jing, let me go!"
"Don't let go! If I let go you'll run away again!"
Gu Jing buried his face in Gu Yuan's back and spoke in a muffled voice with a heavy nasal tone.
"I promise not to run."
"real?"
"real."
Gu Jing then reluctantly let go of his hand, but still held on to the corner of Gu Yuan's clothes tightly.
She stared at him without blinking, as if he would disappear in the blink of an eye.
Gu Yuan rubbed his temples: "Why are you here?"
He tried to change the subject.
"I came here with Achuan."
Gu Jing sniffed and pointed at Li Chuan: "A Chuan said he came here to meet a friend, I didn't expect that I would meet you!"
"Did you see it?" Gu Yuan asked.
"Yeah, Achuan?"
Gu Jing then remembered the important matter and turned to look at Li Chuan: "Did you see the person? Which master is it?"
Li Chuan: “…”
He looked up at Gu Yuan and shook his head.
Gu Jing quickly turned back and looked at Gu Yuan eagerly: "That's not important. Brother, where do you live? Can I come to visit you?"
"No." Gu Yuan refused flatly.
"Why!" Gu Jing's face immediately fell.
"Because..." Because I'm dying.
But he couldn't say, "Because I don't want to see anyone from your Gu family!"
The light in Gu Jing's eyes disappeared, and he looked like a big dog abandoned by his owner.
But he quickly cheered up again: "Brother, how much is one of your talismans? Give it to me! I want them all!"
"Three million per ticket..."
Gu Yuan casually quoted Ji Yunzhou's usual exorbitant price, just wanting this persistent brother to give up.
Li Chuan's eyebrows raised slightly, and Ji Yunzhou chuckled in Gu Yuan's mind.
Gu Jing's eyes lit up: "Great, great!"
He quickly counted the remaining talisman papers: "There are eight left here. Three million each means twenty-four million."
Then he took out a black card from his wallet: "Brother, there are 30 million in it, the password is 666666, you take it, no need to give change..."
Gu Yuan was speechless for a moment.
After not seeing each other for twelve years, has the Gu family's financial resources expanded to this extent?
A sixteen-year-old boy can easily come up with thirty million?
The Gu family will teach their children bad things like this!
And is a password like 666666 really safe?
"Gu Jing."
Gu Yuan frowned: "Where did you get so much money?"
"My lucky money and pocket money."
Gu Jing blinked: "Don't worry, I saved all these by myself..."
Master Li, who was standing next to him, listened to the entire gossip with a charming smile.
I was wondering: Why does this kid still cheat people when he has such a younger brother?
He really couldn't understand the world of the rich.
"Okay, you two should go back now."
Gu Yuan stuffed the talisman paper into Gu Jing's hand and started to drive people away.
"Brother, will you come back with me?"
Gu Jing clutched the talisman tightly: "If you don't want to go back to the Gu family, then come live with me! I have an empty apartment there..."
Gu Yuan was shocked again.
Owning your own property at the age of sixteen?
What has the Gu family been up to over the years?
"Let's go."
Gu Yuan hardened his heart: "Otherwise I won't talk to you next time."
Gu Jing's expression was like a puppy abandoned by its owner, and he was pulled away pitifully by Li Chuan.
Before leaving, Li Chuan looked at Gu Yuan deeply, and his look was so complicated that it made Gu Yuan's heart tighten.
"Can't bear to leave?"
Ji Yunzhou's voice rang out in Gu Yuan's mind, with a hint of amusement.
"What's there to be reluctant about?"
Gu Yuan said stubbornly: "It has nothing to do with the Gu family eight hundred years ago..."
But his eyes kept following Gu Jing's departing back until the figure disappeared around the corner.
"Young man."
Master Li came over, his face full of envy: "Why would I struggle when I have a brother like him? I would have gone home and laid down long ago!"
Gu Yuan smiled bitterly.
Doesn’t he want to?
But he doesn't have much time left, and...some things can't be solved by money.
On the other side, inside the black Maybach, Gu Jing buried her face in Li Chuan's shoulder, crying silently.
"What's wrong?"
Li Chuan gently stroked Gu Jing's soft hair: "Are you still not happy after giving out the money?"
Gu Jing raised his head, his eyes red and swollen: "But he didn't recognize me... He has been able to see ghosts since he was a child. It's a talent. Why did Mom and Dad lie to me? Why did you abandon my brother?"
His voice was full of grievance and confusion.
Li Chuan sighed and pinched Gu Jing's fair cheek: "Don't be angry, this is the scientific age, it's not good to be superstitious."
"snort!"
Gu Jing pouted in dissatisfaction: "If that's the case, then aren't you also a believer in feudal superstition? You clearly..."
"I..."
Li Chuan was speechless, then smiled helplessly: "Okay, it's my fault, little ancestor."
How can that be considered feudal superstition?
It's just that some things are not the time to explain yet.
"Mom and Dad are such a jerk!"
Gu Jing's tears welled up again: "Why did you lie to me and tell me that my brother went abroad for treatment and refused to come back? And you also said that my brother didn't want to see me? It's obvious that they don't want my brother anymore, right?"
His voice trembled and his pretty little face was red from crying.
Li Chuan looked at him with heartache and hugged the boy, who was a head shorter than him, into his arms.
The faint fragrance of Gu Jing lingered at the tip of his nose, and a sense of guilt surged in Li Chuan's heart.
They are too young.
But on second thought, they were childhood sweethearts who grew up together, so such comfort was not out of line.
"Stop crying."
Li Chuan patted Gu Jing's back and said, "Just go back and ask and you'll know."
Gu Jing gradually calmed down in Li Chuan's arms, but his fingers were still tightly grasping the stack of talisman paper.
What if what my brother said is true?
His parents were genuinely kind to him, but they hurt his beloved brother.
What should he do after finding out?
Li Chuan didn't know what Gu Jing was thinking. He looked at the passing scenery outside the window with deep eyes.
In the end, he just sighed.
"Don't think too much about it for now."
Li Chuan rubbed the top of Gu Jing's head soothingly: "Tomorrow I will accompany you to check your brother's whereabouts over the years."
Gu Jingjing nodded and suddenly sneezed.
Li Chuan immediately took off his suit jacket and put it on him: "The air conditioner is turned up too high."
"Thank you, Achuan..."
Gu Jing wrapped himself tightly in his coat that held Li Chuan's body temperature: "You're so good to me."
Li Chuan paused, okay?
Is he really good to him?
If it was good, why hadn't he recognized him yet?
Li Chuan lowered his head to look at Gu Jing who had fallen asleep in his arms. There were still undried tears hanging on the boy's long eyelashes.
He sighed softly and brought the person closer to his arms.
"Drive slower."
Li Chuan whispered to the driver, his voice full of tenderness.
