Chapter 42

Chapter 42

Nine o'clock in the morning.

Fu Le woke up from his dream feeling weak and limp all over, as if he had just had a very tiring dream, and was exhausted both mentally and physically.

Each time she travels back in time, even though it's the same body, the clothes she's wearing can't be brought back. When she opens her eyes again, she's still the same as when she fell asleep. She doesn't know how the time machine does that.

In the rear compartment of the shuttle, Fu Le's bone armor lay comfortably, along with her mechanical beast.

"Lele, are you awake? Your uncle and cousin are here..."

What?! Uncle?!

Fu Le was stunned at first, then realized that her only uncle was still alive when she was in her first year of high school!

Good heavens, how could she forget the most important thing?! Her uncle died of brain cancer in the second semester of his senior year of high school, and it must have already started to grow by then.

"Uncle!!!" Fu Le's voice came from upstairs, his voice preceding his arrival.

Upon hearing the sound, Qi Dafu immediately smiled and turned around to look for the person, only to be knocked to the ground by the oncoming giant cannonball.

"Oh dear..."

"Fu Le!! Are you out of your mind?!"

"Fu Le!!! Get up right now!! You've crushed your uncle!!!"

In an instant, chaos erupted in the hall, with people pulling and dragging each other along.

After realizing her mistake, Fu Le stood up and, with a look of heartache, carried her uncle in a princess carry and placed him on the bamboo mat in the living room. Then she knelt down and asked, "Uncle, are you alright? Where are you hurt?"

Qi Dafu: ...

Aunt Fu: ...

Qi Chen: ...

"Uncle? Are you alright?" Fu Le looked at her uncle, who was still alive, with mixed feelings, her eyes reddening.

Her uncle, who doted on her the most and always brought a bunch of snacks that made her cousin furious every time he came to visit, passed away too suddenly. He collapsed while working and died that very night. The doctor said it was because a brain tumor had ruptured. He was exhausted; he had worked hard his whole life and was still making money until his death.

"Lele, how did you suddenly grow so tall?" Qi Dafu looked at his niece whom he hadn't seen for several months and was somewhat incredulous. She must be 170 cm tall by now.

"Yes, Lele, what's going on?" Aunt Fu was also quite frightened.

Growing ten centimeters overnight, what's the difference between that and encountering a ghost?

The news that Fu Lele had grown ten centimeters taller overnight suddenly spread throughout the entire Fu family village. Whenever Fu Lele went out, she would be the object of everyone's intense gaze, as well as some voices of envy, jealousy, and hatred. There were even nosy people who came to visit and then commented on her as if she were a monkey.

"Uncle, I've put the kettle here for you. It's all honey water, good for your health. This is a drink I made. Drink a cup after lunch every day. It tastes really good..." Fu Le circled around Qi Dafu like an old woman, making Old Fu jealous and roll his eyes.

"I know, I know..." Qi Dafu grinned widely, overjoyed.

Qi Dafu was pleased with Fu Le's sudden surge of enthusiasm. He had come to his brother-in-law's place to watch over the site, and he was sharing the job with another worker, taking responsibility for night watch.

"Lele, why don't you go out and play with your cousin?" Qi Chen went home angrily after Fu Le refused to go to her house again.

"You know my aunt doesn't like me, and my uncle is at our house, why would I go? I'm not going." In the past, she would have happily followed her there. She used to like her cousin so much, but now she hates her just as much.

Not long after her uncle died, her aunt found a man to live in the house her uncle had just built. All the assets her uncle had worked so hard for his whole life were enjoyed by her aunt and that man. She wasn't too angry. After all, her uncle was gone, and even if her aunt found someone after only a few months, there was nothing wrong with it. At most, it was just a little morally reprehensible.

What angered her the most was that ten years later, Qi Chen listened to her mother and broke off her friendship with Qi Hua. Her mother liked her cousin so much. After her uncle passed away, her mother and aunt treated Qi Chen like their own daughter, sending her food and money and coming to visit her. But the first thing Qi Chen did after graduating from university was to cut off all her relatives on her father's side. Calling her heartless would be an understatement.

"Why didn't you care before?" Qi Hua felt a little uncomfortable. No one would like a relative who hates their own child.

"You've grown up, haven't you?" Fu Le said indifferently. Fu Le was too lazy to talk about that troublesome mother and daughter anymore, so she changed the subject. "Mom, look, what's this?" Fu Le took out 20,000 yuan and slammed it on the table with a bang.

"Where did you get the money?" In the brief moment before Qi Hua stood up, he had already thought through all the bad things his daughter might have done.

"I also get a commission from selling honey and milk."

"You've sold so many in just three months?" Qi Hua was astonished. Selling those things was so profitable.

"No, there's five thousand inside, and the other fifteen thousand was borrowed from my classmates."

Upon hearing that it was a loan, Qi Hua immediately breathed a sigh of relief. "Which of your classmates are you so close to? A male or female classmate? Why are you so generous?"

“He’s a senior in our class. His family is very wealthy. They’re in the foreign trade business.” Fu Le blurted out. With Fang Ge’s intelligence, even if his own mother suddenly came looking for him, he could still cover up this lie.

"A male classmate? A senior in high school? You're not dating, are you?" Qi Hua's suspicious gaze was undisguised.

"Mom, you're overthinking it. His father works in the government. He bought milk and honey from me before, and we got to know each other. He lent me this money so he could buy honey later and deduct it from his salary. Don't forget, my honey costs a thousand yuan per pound. He can only take a few bottles before it's gone."

"If all of this is spent on the house, how will you settle accounts with the honey distributor you're selling?"

"It's okay, I'll pay you back. The honey seller is easy to talk to."

"If someone wants it, just tell Mom, and Mom will borrow it from your aunt." Qi Hua always listened to her daughter's words, as long as she didn't do anything wrong.

"Mom, you're overthinking it. I've already told my friend, and he knows about it."

"Oh, that's good."

As for Lao Fu, Qi Hua had no intention of saying anything. He suggested that she pay on credit first, since people with no income didn't need to know how much money she had.

The last day of the holiday.

Fu Le rode his bicycle to the street to buy clothes.

Students wear the simplest clothes: sportswear.

She had to change all her clothes, inside and out, even her underwear. Oh, I forgot to mention, her shoes too.

Having money, but unable to spend it, Fu Le bought cheap sportswear, three sets for three hundred yuan, including both inner and outerwear. Luckily, money was worth a lot at that time, so it was barely enough. Fu Le was a little disgusted with his size 38 feet, so he casually bought two pairs of white sneakers for thirty yuan.

Shopping alone is so much fun! Fu Le bought some candied hawthorns and munched on them all the way to the parking lot.

"Damn it!! Where's my car?" The chain lying on the ground arrogantly told Fu Le that her car was gone.

Fu Le was furious; she was going to call the police!!

The car thief never expected that Fu Le would call the police. In rural areas, things usually just blow over, don't they?

Just as Fu Le arrived home, the police station called.

"Young lady, your car has been found. It's over here. Come and get it."

Fu Le: ...

I should have waited outside.

"Lele, where are you going? Hey? Where's the car?"

"It was stolen. I'm at the police station right now. The police officer told me to go and get my car."

“Then I’ll go with you.” Qi Hua pulled down her apron and came out.

"Okay." She's a minor, and the police officer who called earlier said she should bring her parents.

Damn age, when will I ever turn 18?
