Chapter 61

Chapter 61

It got dark.

On the moonless earth, it was pitch black, and only a small campfire illuminated a tiny patch of land, creating a scene of profound solitude. Fu Le, draped in an animal skin cloak, sat on a large cotton cushion, grilling meat skewers and drinking milk, which had its own unique charm. "Achoo..."

Damn! That's cold!

A gust of wind blew by, and Fu Le shivered violently. Before he knew it, two long, curled, icy eyelashes had appeared on his eyelids.

I'm not eating anymore, I'm freezing!

Fu Le grilled the remaining ten skewers, added some more firewood, and then crawled into the tent.

Fu Le is from the south. The coldest place she had ever been was Harbin, where the temperature was below minus twenty degrees Celsius. She was frozen like a dead dog. The trip there and back took only three days in total. She had a fever for three days after returning, plus a week of rest and recovery. From then on, she vowed never to go to such a cold city again in her life.

However, what you fear most is what happens. She was forced to return to the freezing cold, and this time, she would have to stay for another six months.

Compared to Harbin, it's much colder here. Even wearing a fur hat with fur inside and out, sitting by the campfire, she was quickly frozen to the bone. If it weren't for the recent stroke of luck that greatly improved her physique, made her more than ten years younger, and gave her spatial resources, she would have surely died today.

Snuggling into the warm, cozy animal-skin quilt, listening to the hum of the diesel engine, Fu Le surprisingly felt at ease.

When I woke up, it was already bright outside.

Peeking out from under the warm blankets, Fu Le got up, dressed in thick layers of clothing, and washed his face and brushed his teeth right inside the tent. The dirty water had just been taken out, and there was only a whole block of ice left in the plastic basin.

"How low is this temperature?" Fu Le exclaimed in surprise, then picked up the basin and tapped it to remove the ice, throwing it far away.

To improve his living conditions, Fu Le walked almost half a mile before digging a small ice pit to solve his personal problem.

During this trip, Fu Le discovered a shocking truth.

She was actually on the top of a building. Beneath the clear, crystalline ice surface were brightly colored yellow glazed tiles. Now, the rising sun illuminated part of the area beneath the ice, reflecting a shimmering luster.

"Shuttle, do you know how long this place has been frozen?"

I don't know.

Fu Le: "Get out!"

She went back and brought over the generator and the little electric drill. In the sunlight, Fu Le's big teeth were mostly showing. Since she had nothing better to do, she wanted to see exactly when the accident happened.

'Sizzle sizzle sizzle sizzle sizzle sizzle...'

'Squeak squeak squeak squeak...'

'Click, click...'

Fu Le had prepared all the bricklayer's tools, just in case, to make weapons. Unexpectedly, they actually came in handy, and were used for their original purpose.

"Looking at the mountain, I ran until my legs were about to give out; the ancients were absolutely right!"

Fu Le's ice-breaking project lasted for four hours. The tiles below were still within reach, yet she could not reach them. All around her were irregular large blocks of ice, scattered everywhere.

"How thick must the ice be? Time to eat, whew..." I'm exhausted.

Fu Le spent his days training and building muscle to collect ice cubes, and every day was incredibly fulfilling.

Seven days later.

'Snap!'

"Holy crap!!!" Fu Le felt his foot slip and he fell down, crashing onto the solid ice. He grimaced in pain, groaning incessantly. The electric drill in his hand fell to the ground with a loud thud.

After a while, once the pain subsided, Fu Le got up and looked around.

On the top floor, there was only a shallow layer on the floor, less than ten centimeters thick. It seems that the seawater backflow occurred suddenly, along with a sharp drop in temperature. The seawater didn't have time to fully penetrate and had already frozen into ice, which saved the interior from being completely eroded by the seawater.

Fu Le found a sofa to sit on. The room was not big, about 30 or 40 square meters. There was an office, a bookcase, and a sofa. The ice had frozen the sofa legs, but the rest of the sofa was intact.

The icehouse was indeed well-preserved; even the walls were intact. Fu Le, having rested, stood up and reached out to touch the wall. It was icy cold, covered with a thin layer of ice.

Soon, Fu Le checked the calendar on his desk and confirmed the freezing date as December 3, 2041. The date was circled in red, meaning that it was only four years away from the Ice Age.

I squeezed the calendar with my fingers, and it crumbled.

Fu Le raised an eyebrow and searched through the drawers and cabinets again. They contained procurement documents, official seals, card readers, and the like, all frozen and brittle, easily broken into pieces.

Huh? This looks like the finance department's office.

Fu Le's eyes lit up after he found the hidden door behind the bookshelf.

I can't push it... I can't kick it either. Forget it, I'll use a chainsaw! The electric drill is out of power.

After a series of hissing sounds, the door opened with an irregular hole. Fu Le squatted down and looked inside; it was pitch black.

Searchlights, up!

A small inner room of about ten square meters contained a pile of cardboard boxes and five or six safes.

The surrounding air was quite cold. Fu Le breathed out a few breaths, rubbed his hands, and climbed inside.

Exploration isn't scary at all.

Fu Le entered the room, went to the cardboard box first, opened it and exclaimed, "Holy crap, Wuliangye!! It's still the same after twenty years!" Even the packaging hasn't changed!

Fu Le excitedly started unpacking, just like opening blind boxes and packages—it was addictive. What he found were all good things, including Wuliangye and the most expensive Moutai on the market. Some of them were even from 2020. The familiar ones felt like seeing his own people, making Fu Le's heart race.

"Old buddy, old buddy, we're from the same generation, we're brothers, hehe..."

Although they were all frozen solid, she didn't mind at all and took them all.

After collecting the drinks, there's a safe that's half a person's height.

Fu Le accepted all the offers, planning to continue opening blind boxes when he had nothing else to do back upstairs.

Compared to the ice layer above, this floor was much warmer. After Fu Le finished taking pictures of the entire top floor and confirmed that it was just an office floor, he lost interest. His biggest finds were the things in the finance office and a wall map of the mall, which could show the layout of the entire mall.

What a huge shopping mall! It includes supermarkets, pharmacies, food courts, clothes, shoes, bags, gold, cosmetics, restaurants, mobile phones, computers, appliances, and more. It has everything imaginable, a dazzling array of goods.

Fu Le: I won!!! They're all mine!!!

move place! !

I don't know if it's because everyone was on holiday when the disaster struck, but there wasn't a single body on this entire floor.

At night, Fu Le stayed in the rooftop hall, which was nearly 3.5 meters high. Her wooden house and tent could fit inside completely. With the generator, Fu Le lit the hall brightly.

It's a bit of a shame that there's no cell phone or other electronic devices, so it's a little boring.

Fu Le had nothing to do and couldn't sleep, so he started doing practice problems until 10:30 pm, when he finally got sleepy and went to bed.
