Chapter 8

Chapter 8 Fu Lecai didn't care what Wu Liu thought. Having been reborn, she wouldn't have any further interaction with such a gossipy person.

Upon arriving at the commercial city, Fu Le saw the three large characters "Commercial and Trade Office" on the dark stone sign and couldn't help but grin. Tsk, even after more than ten years, this stone sign was only a little dirtier; no one had ever cleaned it.

Having found the bookstore where he often rented books, Fu Le greeted the owner and went straight to the corner. He randomly picked out a few books he used to read as a child, including "Pretty Girl in Her Teenage Years," and started comparing the publishers' information. In the end, he selected three to copy down. To avoid being complained about by the owner, he bought a school magazine and left.

Fu Le went to the general store on the first floor and bought some bottles and jars for repackaging things, then carried a big bag back home.

She needs to make her fruits, milk, and honey appear openly in her home, so decanting them into bottles is essential.

When Fu Le arrived home, her mother had already gone to deliver goods, which conveniently made it easier for her to get things done.

Remove the kettle from the coal stove, place the pot on it, sterilize all the bottles and jars with boiling water, and then place them upside down on the table.

Fu Le found some dried almonds at home, roasted them for a while, crushed them, and took out a bucket of milk. The bucket was over five meters tall, so she had to put it in the backyard. Fortunately, the house surrounded the entire backyard, otherwise, she really wouldn't have been able to get the milk.

A huge milk bucket appeared in the yard, almost filling the entire yard of less than 100 square meters.

Standing on the ground and looking up, Fu Le had the illusion of standing in the school's boiler room, where the boiler was even taller than the bucket.

If she had to handle all that milk by herself, Fu Le felt she might just die.

Fu Le climbed up to the second floor, scooped out a bucketful of milk from the back balcony, quickly put the bucket away, and put it in a pot to boil.

She'll buy a suction hose later, the kind with a valve, so it'll be easier to collect the milk.

After boiling a whole pot of food, Fu Le was so tired that his back ached and he couldn't straighten up.

After taking a sip of sweet and delicious animal milk, Fu Le felt as if he had been injected with chicken blood, and his whole body felt so comfortable that he wanted to hum.

"Delicious." He smacked his lips, drank two large glasses in one go, and only stopped when his stomach felt bloated and painful.

It has a really rich milk flavor, and it's different from regular milk. It feels very comfortable in my stomach after drinking it, and I don't experience acid reflux or burping.

Fu Le divided the milk into thirty 500ml glass bottles before he finished dividing the three large pots of animal milk. He then left them outside to cool before putting them directly into the refrigerator.

After washing and cleaning, I took out a bucket of honey and filled it into more than thirty bottles. To make the most of it, I rinsed the bucket with boiled water from the kettle and poured the water into the large tea mug at home. The water from the second rinse was poured into two green plastic thermos flasks.

Having just finished all that, I sat down. "Lele, what are you doing? How long until your mom comes back?" Old Fu returned, accompanied not by his mahjong partners, but by a well-dressed man in his thirties with glasses. He looked refined and cultured, completely different from Old Fu's other dog-loving friends.

Fu Le was surprised. Who was this? He didn't recognize him at all.

"Brother Fu, is this Lele? She's grown so much." The man smiled at Fu Le, his eyes full of laughter. It was clear that he and Old Fu were indeed very familiar with each other.

"Oh, right, Lele, this is Dad's comrade-in-arms' younger brother. He held you when you were little. Jiang Ying, you should call him Uncle Jiang." Old Fu then remembered to introduce him.

The old kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of milk, which Jiang Ying could smell as soon as he entered. It was very strong and smelled delicious.

"Hello, Uncle Jiang." Fu Le was very polite to Old Fu's comrade-in-arms' younger brother, and judging from his appearance, he didn't seem like the kind of scoundrel.

Uncle Jiang's eyes kept glancing at the milk cooling on the table, and Fu Le couldn't ignore it even if he wanted to.

"Hey, Lele, where did you get so much milk?" Old Fu finally realized that his dining table was full of snow-white glass bottles of milk.

As he spoke, he stepped forward to take the milk. Fu Le stepped aside to let Old Fu take the milk, while he took another bottle and handed it to Jiang Ying. "Uncle Jiang, try this. This milk is from my friend's house. It has a strong milk flavor and no water has been added."

"This..." Jiang Ying looked at the father and daughter with some embarrassment, especially Fu Le's bright eyes, which seemed to see through everything.

At her age, she still craves children's milk. Jiang Ying blushed with embarrassment.

"Hmm... Xiao Jiang, hurry up and try it. This milk tastes really pure. I've traveled all over the country and drunk a lot of different kinds of milk, but this is the first time I've encountered milk this rich and fragrant. It's delicious. Lele, where did you get it? Is your friend from Shunshi (town name)? Does his family raise dairy cows? This doesn't taste like cow's milk. Ah, is it goat's milk?" Old Fu kept asking questions as he drank.

"Milk," Fu Le said to Old Fu in an annoyed tone.

Jiang Ying put his briefcase on the stool next to him, opened the bottle, and took a sip. The rich and sweet milk entered his mouth, smooth and mellow, and had a warm feeling in his stomach. Mmm... It's so delicious, but just as Brother Fu said, it doesn't really taste like milk.

Before he knew it, Jiang Ying had finished the whole bottle. He even accidentally burped and belatedly covered his mouth. When he met Fu Le's smiling eyes, Jiang Ying's face turned red again.

I have completely lost face in front of the younger generation today.

After Lao Fu and Jiang Ying each drank a bottle of milk, they went to the west room to talk. Fu Le put the milk in the refrigerator and the honey in the shuttle.

Fu Le, who was upstairs figuring out how to get the supplies in the space, didn't notice that Old Fu had brought a pot of hot water into the room and made hot tea for the two of them.

"Come on, Brother Jiang, try the pre-Qingming tea from my house. I snatched it from a friend; I don't let anyone else drink it."

Jiang Ying smiled and accepted the cup, said thank you, and took a small sip as a sign of respect.

After drinking a pound of milk, the stomach's capacity is now quite small.

However, amidst the rich and fragrant aroma of the tea, there seemed to be a hint of indescribable sweetness. This taste is truly wonderful...

"Brother Fu, your tea is really good, it tastes delicious." As a tea lover, Jiang Ying has high standards for tea. He usually buys his own tea leaves from the tea factory. He can tell whether the tea is good or not just by tasting it. The tea leaves are indeed good, but the water used to brew the tea is probably extraordinary.

"Huh? This tea tastes so good today!" Old Fu drank three cups in a row, his dark face full of surprise. His mind was completely on the tea. He knew about tea, but only by taste. After drinking tea for so many years, he could more or less distinguish between good and bad tea.

Old Fu's gaze fell on the teacup, puzzled. The tea leaves were the same, but the taste had changed so much. Could it be...?

Old Fu didn't care about Jiang Ying anymore. He turned around, picked up the teapot from the wall behind him, opened the stopper, and a sweet aroma wafted out, filling his nostrils with fragrance.

"Phew...that's the taste." The case is solved. It's probably either Fu Le or Qi Hua who put something in it, with the former being more likely. Sometimes when Fu Le is bored, he'll also tinker with things like honey water and pour it into the pot.

"Brother Fu, this water is something else!" Jiang Ying, on the other side, also smelled the hot steam coming from the spout of the kettle and the sweet aroma.

Old Fu looked at Jiang Ying and laughed, "This was probably done by my daughter. I'll ask her about it later."

Upstairs, Fu Le was holding a strawberry the size of a watermelon, using a fruit knife to cut it into small pieces and arrange them on a plate, feeding himself a bite every now and then, eating with great satisfaction.

The reason she went upstairs to cut the food was because there were guests present, and she didn't want to serve them.

Don't think she's stingy. These good things from another world are best eaten by family members. Outsiders might have problems eating them. Who knows, they might have some magical effects.

It was noon when Old Fu called out to Fu Le from downstairs, "Come on, let's go out to eat with your dad and your Uncle Jiang."

The thick-skinned Fu Le followed the even thicker-skinned Lao Fu and shamelessly freeloaded a lunch at Jiang Ying's place. The two drank and talked about a lime factory business. Lao Fu's business acumen was something Fu Le couldn't deny.

Old Fu, a tycoon who became rich after retiring from the military and then went bankrupt, may not be as successful as he used to be, but he's still sharp-minded. Younger generations of his friends often come to him for advice and treat him to meals. This is why Old Fu is respected in the village even though he is very poor. He is really capable, but he's been having a run of bad luck lately, losing money on everything he does. But that doesn't stop him from giving advice to the younger generation.

Fu Le ignored the adults' conversations, focusing instead on her food. She devoured the dry pot chicken giblets, dry pot pork intestines, dry pot fish giblets, and dry pot chicken stew. The food was so delicious that she didn't even have time to look up. The food from her hometown was so much better! The food she ate in the capital before her rebirth was simply inedible.

After the meal, Fu Le was red-faced and swollen from the spiciness—not from a fight, but from the heat…

Fu Le took out the milk from his bag and drank half a bottle in one gulp. The burning sensation in his mouth subsided considerably, and he burped...feeling good.

After eating her fill, Fu Le belatedly realized that neither of the two adults had spoken, and they were both staring at her.

Fu Le: ...

Um, I accidentally burped. That was a bit rude of me. I apologize.
