The smoke was warm, the water was clear, the wind was gentle and the sun was beautiful. Mei Xianzhang was wearing a brand new light green smoke-ink jacket, with two round buns on his head, and two thin jade belts tied his black hair together.
Three days had passed since the last beating in front of the Qingxia Temple. It was Fang Jian who persuaded Mei Xianzhang to go to the city to make this new set of clothes.
Or maybe this child is stubborn. She thinks she will definitely be beaten in the future, so there is no point in making new clothes. They will be worn out anyway, so she might as well mend the old ones and wear them.
Mei Xianzhang lay on the wooden table in the yard, his left hand supporting his chin, his right hand holding a brush, the handheld end of the brush still in his mouth.
There was a stack of white papers on the table in front of Mei Xianzhang, and on the top piece of white paper were a dozen or so words written crookedly.
However, Mei Xianzhang has stopped writing now. She is completely unable to concentrate because an old man wearing a monk's robe and a Buddhist hat has been wandering outside her fenced yard.
Mei Xianzhang bit the tip of the pen in his mouth, his eyes following the old man outside as he moved left and right.
After looking at it for a while, Mei Xianzhang placed his brush on the inkstone and called out to the outside of the fenced yard, "Old man, come in and have some water."
When Taoist Li heard Mei Xianzhang's voice, he stopped and turned to look towards the courtyard. When he saw Mei Xianzhang, he smiled and said, "No, I'm not thirsty."
"Oh." Mei Xianzhang nodded, then pointed to the west of the village and said, "If you don't want to come in, why don't you just hang out over there? You're disturbing me while I practice calligraphy by wandering around outside."
"Oh." Taoist Li laughed when he heard this, "You little girl, still practicing calligraphy? Why do you want to take the top spot in the imperial examination?"
Mei Xianzhang did not answer. Taking the imperial examination was his father Mei Qing's last wish, and it was also a little secret in her heart. How could she tell a stranger casually?
"This has nothing to do with you." Mei Xianzhang said, "If you want to come in, there's a place for you to sit here. But please don't hang around outside my yard, okay?"
Taoist Li laughed and waved the whisk in his hand while jumping twice on the spot. "I'm going to turn around here. The feng shui here is good, hehe."
Mei Xianzhang stared at Taoist Li who was laughing and dancing outside. She had no expression on her face, but her cold eyes showed that she was very unhappy.
After sitting there and thinking about it, Mei Xianzhang still couldn't stand it anymore. She stood up from the bench, then bent down and picked up a rectangular stone half the size of an adult's palm from the ground without leaving any trace. She held the stone with her right hand and put it behind her back, then quickly walked out of the yard.
Mei Xianzhang stared at Li Laodao while slowly turning his head towards him and soon walked behind him.
But just as Mei Xianzhang raised the stone and prepared to smash it towards Li Laodao's back, Li Laodao suddenly turned around and said, "Haha, I caught you! You wanted to hit me with a stone!"
Mei Xianzhang was startled by Li Laodao's sudden turn, but she reacted immediately and threw a stone at Li Laodao's face before he opened his mouth to speak.
There was a loud bang, and Li Laodao stumbled back. His face wasn't seriously injured, but he still rubbed his nose. Then he looked at Mei Xianzhang and said, "This little kid doesn't have martial ethics at such a young age. What will happen to him when he grows up?"
"I'll beat you to death when I grow up," said Mei Xianzhang.
Taoist Li shook his head and said to Mei Xianzhang, "Actually, I'm here to see your master."
"Dad is not at home." Mei Xianzhang said coldly.
Taoist Li continued to shake his head and said: "No, no, no, I'm not looking for your father, I'm looking for your master..."
As he spoke, Taoist Li pointed to the Third Prince who was hiding in a wooden shed in the yard and said, "That's the owner of this horse."
Mei Xianzhang said, "That's my father."
"..." Taoist Li's eyes widened suddenly, his face full of disbelief, "No way? This kid... Could it be that Mei Qing is just a cover? Are you that kid's daughter?"
As he said this, Taoist Li counted on his fingers and thought, if this is true, it would be huge news.
But after counting on his fingers, Taoist Li was immediately disappointed, "Ah...it turns out that he just calls the master his father..."
"Your master...Okay, where did your father go?" asked Taoist Li.
Mei Xianzhang shook his head and said, "I don't know and I won't tell you. You can go now." As he said that, Mei Xianzhang raised the stone in his hand again.
"Okay, okay." Taoist Li said quickly, "Don't hit me, I'll just leave. Hey, these kids nowadays are really becoming less and less respectful to the elderly."
Shaking his head, Taoist Li turned and left the fenced yard, heading towards Luer Village.
As they walked, Taoist Li continued to calculate Fang Jian's whereabouts, but the more he calculated, the more confused he became. "This is strange. This guy is only a Taiyi Xuanxian, why can't I calculate his whereabouts? Who is hiding the secret for him?"
Watching Li Laodao walking farther and farther away until he finally disappeared completely, Mei Xianzhang threw away the stone, returned to the yard, and sat down to practice calligraphy again.
Mei Xianzhang knew where Fang Jian had gone. Fang Jian had gone there to refine a magic weapon for her. She had asked for a weapon a few days ago, so Fang Jian had gone out yesterday to find materials for her to refine the magic weapon.
Although I don’t know what the magic weapon is, it should be a very powerful weapon. If I had a very powerful weapon, I could directly take back the Kuixing Inkstone.
Therefore, Mei Xianzhang was looking forward to the magic weapon that Fang Jian would refine for him.
"There's no point in worrying or thinking about it anymore. I'll know when Dad brings it back. The most important thing now is to practice calligraphy." Mei Xianzhang muttered, stood up and ran to the kitchen to scoop a bucket of cold water to wash his face, then sat back at the table, suppressed the expectant and anxious emotions in his heart, picked up the brush and began to practice calligraphy calmly.
