The wedding of Lu Tao and Zhiyu Zhenren was very grand. Even the three sea gods, Dijiang of the South China Sea, Jumang of the East China Sea, and Rushu of the West China Sea came in person. There were also the Four Dragon Kings, the Four Heavenly Lords and other high-ranking officials in the heavenly court who were in charge of one side.
Even many high-ranking gods in heaven sent their boys over. Although the great masters of Taoism and Buddhism had all gone down to the mortal world to connect the heavens and all the worlds, their boys or disciples also came to attend the wedding.
Of course, Fang Jian and Thunder God Feng Lun also gave gifts, but their gifts were more or less unlucky, so the two of them did not show up in public. Instead, they rested in the cloud room of the Taoist Palace arranged by Xuan Ming, waiting to be taken away after the wedding.
On the night of Lu Tao's wedding, Fang Jian and Feng Lun consumed some of the immortal fruits and treasures that Xuan Ming had sent them, then they got up and walked out of the cloud room and took a stroll under the jade corridor of the Taoist Palace.
The sea breeze from the North Sea always carries a hint of chill. Fang Jian listened to the pleasant sounds of stringed instruments and clinking glasses coming from the front, and his tense mood of many days finally calmed down a little.
Fireflies were flying in the night sky and the lights were bright and colorful. Fang Jian was strolling leisurely between the Taoist Palace and Langyuan, feeling the slightly cold sea breeze.
Suddenly, Fang Jian stopped and heard a rustling sound, similar to the sound of silk rubbing against each other.
Fang Jian did not release his divine consciousness in the North Sea Divine Palace because he wanted to give face to his master.
But his hearing was not affected at all. Although he was more than ten feet away, Fang Jian could still hear the rubbing of silk clothes and jade belts, as well as the slightly rapid breathing.
Fang Jian turned his head and found that the voice came from a rockery more than ten feet away, and it was obviously a man and a woman.
Fang Jian frowned. He had no intention of ruining anyone's good deeds, but today was the wedding of Lu Tao and Master Zhiyu. It was really rude of these people to do this behind the host's back.
Thinking of this, Fang Jian took two steps forward and coughed heavily twice.
The sound inside the rockery immediately subsided a little, but it was only quiet for a moment before it started again.
Fang Jian was speechless. Just as he was hesitating whether to remind him again, he saw a breeze coming from afar and landing directly outside the rockery.
Fang Jian took a closer look and saw that the person had her hair tied up high in a bun, and was dressed in a plain Taoist robe. She did not wear many ornaments, but she had a graceful temperament and elegant demeanor. She was none other than Jiang Yinghuan, the wife of Xuanming, the God of the North Sea.
Jiang Yinghuan shouted gloomily at the rockery, "What are you doing in there, you bastard? Get out!"
The people in the rockery were startled when they heard Jiang Yinghuan's shout, and quickly tidied up their clothes and came out. They were two young people, a man and a woman, who were Lu Tao's eldest son You Jing and a female fairy from the Xuanxian realm.
The fairy was cute and lovely, but at this moment her face was flushed and she stood behind You Jing with her head lowered. Fang Jian could feel her embarrassment even from such a distance.
"Grandma, why are you here?" You Jing stood in front of Jiang Yinghuan with her hands and feet tied, and said with embarrassment on her face.
Jiang Yinghuan glanced at You Jing and the fairy calmly, then said calmly, "Today is your parents' wedding day, why don't you go to the front and serve them?"
"Yes, yes, yes." You Jing said quickly, "I'll go right away."
Jiang Yinghuan asked, "You Sheng is at Pingxiu Tower, right?"
Hearing Jiang Yinghuan's words, You Jing and the female fairy's faces instantly turned even redder, because they both knew that You Sheng and another woman were in Pingxiu Tower, having a love affair just like them.
But the reason why Jiang Yinghuan said this to the two of them was to tell You Jing, don't think that we don't know what you two brothers are doing.
You Jing responded to Jiang Yinghuan casually, then ran forward with the fairy girl with a blushing face.
Jiang Yinghuan did not stop them. To her, such behavior of young people was understandable, but choosing today was obviously a bit inappropriate.
After You Jing left, Jiang Yinghuan turned around and took a step forward. Her figure flashed in an instant, and in the blink of an eye she was in front of Fang Jian.
Jiang Yinghuan bowed to Fang Jian and said, "I'm sorry to have embarrassed you, True Lord Hongqing."
Fang Jian shook his head and smiled, "It's a good thing for young people to have this spirit."
"Alas, this is too ridiculous." Jiang Yinghuan sighed and shook her head. Then she looked at Fang Jian and asked, "Master Hongqing, I would like to ask you a question."
Fang Jian said, "Fellow Daoist, please ask."
Jiang Yinghuan asked, "My son Lu Tao, how should we judge him according to the laws of heaven?"
When Fang Jian heard this, he immediately fell silent. Seeing Fang Jian's silence, Jiang Yinghuan's face darkened and she couldn't help but feel a little worried.
Without waiting for Fang Jian to reply, Jiang Yinghuan said, "Master Hongqing knows the unpredictable nature of Heaven's laws."
"Oh?" Fang Jian didn't understand why Jiang Yinghuan changed the subject so drastically, so he immediately asked, "What's the variable?"
Jiang Yinghuan said, "I also heard from the head of the temple, Master Gunchang, that the path of the True Spirit of Nuwa has been broken by the devil. Now, all living beings in the Three Realms and the Heavens can no longer use the method of splitting their bodies, splitting their spirits, or dividing their True Spirits to save their lives."
Fang Jian was surprised when he heard this, but he soon returned to normal. At the same time, he also understood why the editor asked him to take the true spirits of those around him.
But Fang Jian understood one more thing: why Jiang Yinghuan changed the subject so drastically. "Could it be that Lu Tao doesn't have a preserved true spirit?"
Jiang Yinghuan shook her head and said, "Lu Tao has one, but Peng Ziqing doesn't."
"Oh." Fang Jian suddenly realized and said, "It's okay. Peng Ziqing's true spirit is preserved in the palace temple by the Purple Qi Star Official."
Jiang Yinghuan felt relieved upon hearing this and slowly said, "Ziqing is actually a very good child. She is gentle and virtuous, soft on the outside but strong on the inside. She is a remarkable woman. Xuanming and I are very pleased with her. Alas, we have indeed let her down."
