He was not wearing any luxurious attire at all.
He flew down from the sky and landed on the hall.
At this moment, all the emperors and gods in heaven, starting with the Five Great Emperors, flew down.
The Jade Emperor, the Great Luos, and the great virtues of Taoism all flew down from the immortal group.
The ancient Buddha Dipamkara, the Buddha from the East, and other Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats and other great Buddhist figures also flew down.
The demon lords, led by the Chaos Demon, immediately flew to his side.
At this moment, no one was in the immortal class, and everyone had "violated the laws of heaven", but no one blamed them.
"Great Celestial Lord!" Everyone looked at him, who had taken off his majestic imperial robes and was only wearing a green Taoist robe dressed as a Taoist priest, and their voices were filled with admiration.
He glanced at the surrounding immortals and gods, overwhelmed with gratitude, and said, "My fellow Taoists, I have resigned from the position of Great Celestial Venerable. You can simply call me 'Haotian'."
This was his Taoist name, and also his given name. He used to be called "Haotian God," but now he could only be called "Haotian Taoist." Although he had taken away the honorific title, he had retired after all, and could no longer be addressed casually by it.
Having said this, Taoist Haotian bowed his head to everyone, and the next moment all the immortals and gods present bowed and kowtowed to Taoist Haotian.
Taoist Haotian looked at the immortals and gods and said, "My fellow Taoists, from now on you must assist the new Great Celestial Venerable in governing the Three Realms and bringing peace to all living beings."
After saying this, Taoist Haotian took a step forward, and the immortals and gods around him immediately made way for him.
However, at this moment, a loud shout came from behind again: "Great Celestial Lord!"
Taoist Haotian stopped and slowly turned around, only to see Fang Jian quickly step forward and come in front of Taoist Haotian, holding a brand new immortal robe in his hands.
Taoist Haotian looked at the immortal robe in Fang Jian's hand. He naturally recognized it as the 'Qingxia Yudou Qilin Robe'.
Taoist Haotian laughed and said, "Fang Jian, I am no longer the Great Celestial Venerable."
However, Fang Jian refused to listen and continued to speak to himself, "Great Celestial Venerable, this is the Qingxia Jade Fighting Qilin Robe. You bestowed it upon me when I was the 'Land God'. That was the first time I received such a favor from the Great Celestial Venerable. Although I was later granted the Lingxiao Jade Belt Robe and the Jinque Miro Taoist Robe, neither of them was as gratifying to me as this 'Qingxia Jade Fighting Qilin Robe'. Although I received this 'Qingxia Jade Fighting Qilin Robe' later, I have never worn it for a single day. I would like to give this immortal robe to the Great Celestial Venerable. I hope the Great Celestial Venerable will not forsake it."
Taoist Haotian smiled slightly when he heard Fang Jian's words, then reached out and took the Qingxia Yudou Qilin robe from Fang Jian, "Fang Jian, I accept this robe."
After saying this, Taoist Haotian took the Qingxia Yudou Qilin Robe into his Yuanshen. He looked at Fang Jian, whose face was filled with sadness, and suddenly laughed out loud. He raised his hand and patted Fang Jian's head three times, saying, "You were a small land god back then, but now you are a great emperor. Don't act like a girl, but have a heart for the great Dao."
As soon as he finished speaking, Taoist Haotian's figure suddenly turned into the breeze and white clouds, and flew out of the Lingxiao Palace.
Fang Jian took three steps forward, his eyes slightly red as he suddenly bowed and saluted, saying, "Your Majesty, I, Fang Jian, the Emperor of the Great Dao of Taisu, the Central Heaven Doushu, the Mysterious Heaven Universal Transformation, respectfully send off the Jade Emperor of Haotian, the Great Heavenly Venerable, the Mysterious Sky High God!"
Faintly, a faint sound from hundreds of years ago seemed to be heard in the Lingxiao Palace, piercing through time and space, echoing in the hall:
"Your Majesty, Fang Jian, the land god of Yangxia County in Dongsheng Shenzhou, pays homage to His Majesty the Jade Emperor, the Great Celestial Venerable, the Mysterious Sky High God."
A few days later, above the chaos, five figures appeared, covered in boundless mysterious light, illuminating the boundless chaos.
These five figures are: Taiyuan Taoist, Haotian Taoist, Sakyamuni, Wuliang Zumo, and Nuwa Niangniang.
After a while, Taoist Haotian, Sakyamuni, and Infinite Ancestral Demon emerged from the sky, riding on a mysterious light. They turned around and bowed to Taoist Taiyuan and Goddess Nuwa, saying, "We are following in the footsteps of Taoist Taishang to seek the higher realms. We bid you farewell."
Taoist Taiyuan bowed his head and returned the greeting, saying, "My three fellow Taoists are going to seek the upper realms. Please take care of yourselves. I will also take this step in the future. Then I will meet you fellow Taoists in the upper realms and discuss the Dao together."
Taoist Haotian, Sakyamuni, and Wuliang Zumo smiled faintly. At this time, Sakyamuni said to Nuwa: "We are going to the upper realm. I will trouble you to take care of all matters within the Heavenly Dao."
Nuwa said, "I have verified the Way of Heaven and run the laws of nature. I will naturally control all things, whether they exist or not. Please do not worry, my three Taoist friends."
The three of them nodded slightly, then they formally bowed and said goodbye again, then turned around and took that step together.
The Tao is still the Tao, the Way of Heaven is still the Way of Heaven, chaos is still the chaos, and the three realms of the world are still the three realms of the world.
Nothing has changed. Not a single thing has changed because of that step taken by Taoist Haotian, Sakyamuni, and the Infinite Ancestor Demon. However, under the Great Dao and within the Way of Heaven, there is no longer any trace of Taoist Haotian, Sakyamuni, and the Infinite Ancestor Demon.
Taiyuan Daozu and Nuwa Niangniang stood side by side, looking at the place where Haotian Daoist and the other two had stood just now. Now there was nothing there.
Daozu Taiyuan said slowly: "Just like fellow Daoist Taishang, his Dao body disappeared without a trace, and there is no trace left under the Great Dao."
Nuwa said, "The road to the higher realms is vast and unpredictable."
Afterwards, the two said goodbye to each other and returned to their respective dojos.
In the three realms of the present world, the Heavenly Court, under the auspices of the Queen Mother of the West, held an extremely grand ceremony to pray for Taoist Haotian to take that step in seeking the higher realm. It was also a farewell to Taoist Haotian and a commemoration of all his great achievements and merits as the Great Celestial Venerable.
