Upon hearing this, Mahavairocana Buddha laughed heartily and said, "When sentient beings laugh, I laugh; when sentient beings are happy, I am happy; when sentient beings are beautiful, I am beautiful; when sentient beings are sad, I am sad."
Fang Jian clapped his hands upon hearing this and said, "Well said, but are sentient beings happy or sad right now?"
The Buddha Vairocana remained calm and said, "All living beings have different appearances."
Fang Jian gave a thumbs-up and said, "As expected of a Buddha. This emperor admires you."
The Buddha Vairocana also smiled, clasped his hands together, and bowed to Fang Jian, saying, "Emperor Hongqing is extremely compassionate and cares for all living beings. I also admire him deeply."
