Chapter 10 Pei Shuwen: Okay...

Chapter 10 Pei Shuwen: Okay...

"Officer, Pei Shuwen fought tonight because of me. If you need compensation later, you can call me directly."

She had already left her phone number, but since the person who reported the incident was Pei Shuwen, she was afraid that the police station wouldn't call her directly if something happened.

She had just heard the men's families demanding compensation from Pei Shuwen.

But how can you help her and then have to lose money yourself?

Even though she's penniless now, she can't just dump everything on Pei Shuwen.

So she wrote down another phone number and handed it to the police.

The police officer didn't respond to Lin Chaoyue's question, but instead asked, "Aren't you two in a relationship? To protect your girlfriend from illegal harm, it's generally considered legitimate self-defense within reasonable limits, so you don't need to worry too much."

"Oh, is that so?"

Lin Chaoyue thought to herself that she and Pei Shuwen were not in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship at all.

But she didn't dare to refute it. She had been quite slacker when she was an undergraduate in China and knew a little about domestic judicial practice, but not much.

I went out with a heart full of doubts.

Pei Shuwen was standing at the door waiting for her: "What did you say to the police?"

Lin Chaoyue hesitated for a moment: "It's nothing, I just went to get my phone and the police said that since we're in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, it's considered self-defense for you to fight for me."

"What else did he say?"

Lin Chaoyue didn't want to talk about leaving her phone number.

She lowered her head and started talking about something else: "Next time something like this happens, you'd better tell me in advance so I can play along with your act..."

She said the last sentence very softly.

Despite her acting skills, she still instinctively fears Pei Shuwen.

Pei Shuwen didn't know what was wrong with this little girl at first, but now that she's still looking so meek, he can roughly guess what's going on.

She's afraid of him.

But it's better to be afraid than not to be afraid.

He chuckled softly, "Get in the car. You have work to do tomorrow. Help me drop someone off later. You can rest until the afternoon before going to the office tomorrow."

I have to go to work tomorrow.

That's truly inhumane.

Lin Chaoyue became even more frustrated, but this time she didn't even dare to resist, and just silently said "Oh".

Those who understand the times are wise.

She, Lin, could be a rich second-generation heir or a lowly henchman. It's just a job, and she did quite well today.

Regardless of what others think.

Anyway, she felt pretty good about it.

Pei Shuwen had injured her hand, and she thoughtfully helped open the car door.

She had intended to be even more attentive, standing to the side waiting to close the car door, but when she glanced at the back seat, Lin Chaoyue was so startled that she instinctively took a step back and almost tripped over the stone edge of the road.

Fortunately, Pei Shuwen reacted quickly and pulled her away.

"Damn, how come there's someone in this car?"

"Thief?"

But what kind of thief would so brazenly sit in the back seat of someone's car, especially right in front of the police station? The police cars that had responded to the call hadn't even left yet, their red and blue lights still flashing across the street.

Pei An had been asleep for a while. Hearing the noise, he turned over and mumbled his location: "Take me to Jiangnan Mingting, thank you."

It was Pei Shuwen's cousin's voice.

His voice is very distinctive; it's a clear and clean youthful voice that you can recognize immediately.

It turned out he hadn't left after all; he'd just given her a false alarm.

Lin Chaoyue clutched her chest and asked Pei Shuwen, "Are you going to see him off?"

"Yes, thank you for your hard work."

She must have had a tough night.

I was scared repeatedly; I've never been this thrilled even when I went to haunted houses before.

She got into the driver's seat, still feeling apprehensive.

Having driven Pei Shuwen's car twice, she was already quite adept at using the navigation system.

Jiang, Nan, Ming, Ting.

This name sounds familiar.

It seems that all the artists under Li Cong's company live here. It is said to be a luxurious private apartment with good privacy. But why does Pei Shuwen's cousin also live here?

She was a little confused, but didn't ask any further questions.

Pei Shuwen closed her eyes to rest after getting into the car. The red abrasions on her hands hadn't been treated yet, and she looked somewhat tired.

After playing some soothing music, she focused on driving.

Half an hour later.

The navigation system shows that we have arrived at our destination.

Lin Chaoyue thought there wouldn't be many people on the road at this time.

As the car drove past, she could see two people waiting in front of her from a distance. When she stopped the car, they both looked over and waved.

Pei Shuwen was awake.

Lin Chaoyue glanced at him sideways: "They recognize your car, are they looking for you?"

"No." Pei Shuwen woke Pei An up: "Your agent has arrived, you can get out of the car now."

Pei An has been suffering from severe insomnia lately due to his creative work. He finally managed to sleep well today, but was woken up, which he was quite unwilling to do, especially since Pei Shuwen hadn't even taken him to the underground parking garage.

"Just let me continue like this? I'm somewhat famous now."

Despite saying that, Pei An still obediently got out of the car.

Lin Chaoyue belatedly realized: "Your cousin is a celebrity?"

"singer."

"Oh." She didn't know much about domestic singers, but she knew that Li Cong had a favorite singer named Pei An.

Every time this person is mentioned, Li Cong fantasizes about signing him to his company one day, but it seems that because Pei An comes from a wealthy family and doesn't sign with any entertainment company, the matter has been delayed.

I heard that this is a very mysterious singer who rarely appears in public. Li Cong hasn't even gotten an autograph yet.

Lin Chaoyue casually asked, "What's your cousin's name?"

Pei Sinian, also known as Pei An.

Lin Chaoyue: "..."

She suddenly believed it; Li Cong really was here to enjoy life.

She managed to stumble upon this.

Even TV dramas wouldn't dare to portray it like this.

Pei Shuwen only heard Lin Chaoyue say, "He's my friend's idol. I'll go get his autograph and come right back," before grabbing a pen and paper and jogging after him.

Everyone says that the Lin family's daughter is spoiled rotten and unruly.

He felt that Lin Chaoyue was cleaner than the others in the circle.

They were well protected by the Zhong and Lin families.

Lin Chaoyue harbored some prejudice against Pei An because of the previous fight, but now she needed his help.

After catching up, his attitude became more obsequious: "Big star, my friend really likes you, could you please sign an autograph for me?"

Pei Ancun deliberately wanted to tease her, saying that he would only sign if Pei Shuwen agreed.

Even though they were less than twenty meters apart, Pei An took out his phone, made a call, and then handed the phone to her.

How could this person be like this?

His personality is really strange; I don't know what Li Cong likes about him.

But for the sake of his silly childhood friend.

Lin Chaoyue compromised again.

“Pei Shuwen, your brother said he will only sign my autograph if you agree.”

Do you agree?

"Can I disagree?"

Pei Shuwen rarely wasted time on such matters, but he still left out this remark. His words were clearly teasing; he unusually wanted to see Lin Chaoyue's reaction, displaying a rare, mischievous curiosity.

Lin Chaoyue, however, did not play by the rules at all.

The voice talking to itself drowned out his voice: "Agreed! Then I'll ask your brother for a few more autographs. Thanks, Brother Shuwen, goodbye."

Then a busy signal came from the other end of the phone.

When I looked up again, Pei An was already signing his name with a pen and paper.

Pei Shuwen chuckled softly for no apparent reason; he had underestimated this girl.

A note from the author:

----------------------

I'll update with 6,000 words tomorrow to catch up on the rankings.

This chapter is a bit shorter.

The two additional chapters of debt will be repaid on the days when I normally update one chapter per day.

(Before I knew it, I was living a life of debt...o(╥﹏╥)o)
