Spark Rekindled
Jiu Che disappeared.
They weren't completely gone; the trusted fairy servants still delivered food and necessities on time every day. However, the snow-white figure that appeared in the side hall every day had not appeared for more than ten days.
At first, Qi Yuan managed to maintain a calm facade, continuing to peruse the bamboo slips and tend to the orchids. But as time passed, an indescribable anxiety and emptiness crept into her heart like vines. She began to uncontrollably pay attention to the sounds outside the door; each footstep made her heart skip a beat, only to plunge her into deeper despair.
The atmosphere outside the garden seemed even more tense, a sense of impending doom hanging in the air. Had he encountered trouble? Was it because of her? Or was there renewed pressure from within the Immortal Clan?
Various speculations churned in her mind, making her restless. Only then did she realize with horror that, without her noticing, that person's existence had become her only anchor in this cage.
On the thirteenth day, the night was deep and all was quiet in Tingxue Garden.
Just when Qi Yuan thought he would have another sleepless night, the door to the side hall was pushed open rather roughly by a force!
A snow-white figure, carrying the coolness of the night breeze and an overwhelming, unyielding aura—a mixture of pristine etherealness and a certain violent intensity—staggered in!
It's Jiu Che!
But his current state is completely different from that of the cold and aloof immortal lord he used to be!
His snow-white robes were somewhat disheveled, even stained with several dark marks, like dried blood and dust. His silver crown was slightly askew, and a few strands of dark hair fell across his forehead, partially obscuring his eyebrows and eyes, but unable to conceal the surging, almost uncontrollable crimson and chaos in his icy eyes! His aura was extremely unstable, with powerful immortal energy and a restless, violent energy clashing violently within him, causing the air around him to distort slightly.
"Jiu Che?" Qi Yuan's heart tightened, and he subconsciously stood up.
Jiu Che didn't respond. He simply stared intently at her with his bloodshot eyes, filled with pain, struggle, and a desperate madness, as he approached her step by step. The powerful pressure made Qi Yuan, whose demonic energy was sealed, almost unable to breathe.
"You..." She was forced back by him, her back pressed against the cold wall, with nowhere to retreat.
Jiu Che suddenly reached out, not roughly restraining her, but with a trembling yet incredibly strong force, cupping her face and forcing her to raise her head and look directly into his chaotic eyes.
“Tell me…” His voice was terribly hoarse, with a strained, almost unbearable rasping, his hot breath spraying onto her face, “Qi Yuan…look into my eyes…tell me!”
He almost growled, his eyes filled with an unprecedented vulnerability and stubbornness:
"Do you... even... have me in your heart?!"
"..." Qi Yuan was stunned by the pain and longing in his eyes that seemed to burn him to ashes, her mind going blank. She looked at his disheveled hair, his dusty robes, at her own reflection clearly in his eyes, at the naked, century-old wound beneath his frozen Dao heart...
All rational considerations, all the barriers between immortals and demons, all the past grievances, all seem so pale and powerless at this moment.
She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but found her throat choked with emotion.
Her silence was like the last straw that broke the camel's back. The last glimmer of hope in Jiu Che's eyes flickered violently like a candle in the wind, as if it would be extinguished completely at any moment and plunge into eternal darkness.
Just as the light in his eyes was about to go out—
Qi Yuan closed his eyes, and with all his might, he moved extremely gently...
He nodded.
A barely perceptible movement, yet it struck like a thunderclap deep within Jiu Che's chaotic soul!
The light in his eyes, which was about to be extinguished, suddenly burst forth with a light that was both dazzling and insane!
There were no words spoken.
He suddenly lowered his head and, with a fierce, devastating despair and certainty, kissed her lips!
It's no longer the gentle touch behind a mask at the Spark Festival, nor the tentative peck in the bamboo house.
This was a kiss filled with a century of loneliness, endless pain, unforgettable longing, and a frenzied possessiveness. Domineering, fiery, even tinged with a hint of bloodlust, it seemed to want to devour, crush, and merge their souls into one!
After an initial stiffness, Qi Yuan closed his eyes, letting the scalding tears slide down his cheeks. She responded awkwardly, but ultimately obediently. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingertips digging deep into his cool, dark hair.
All defenses, all pretense, crumbled and vanished in this moment.
Jiu Che received a response and kissed her more deeply and passionately. He scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the bedside in a few steps. He almost roughly placed her in the soft brocade quilt and covered her with his burning body.
Clothes were ripped off in the chaos, and the cold air touched the skin, bringing a shiver, which was then covered by an even hotter body temperature.
In the darkness, breaths mingled and limbs intertwined.
There was no tenderness or affection, only the struggle and howling of a trapped beast, as if trying to burn away a century of separation, misunderstanding, resentment, and undying love in this one night.
He left his mark on her body, and she etched her scratches on his back.
Pain and ultimate pleasure intertwine, indistinguishable from one another.
Outside the window, the moonlight flowed quietly like water, witnessing this forbidden yet passionate union.
On this night, the line between immortals and demons became blurred.
Only the most primitive and authentic remain—
He and she.
