Chapter 21 Mo Xiaotuo in Danger

In the middle of the night, Mo Xiaotuo finally fell asleep, but had a series of nightmares. When she opened her eyes groggily the next morning, she found that she had a fever.

Her forehead was burning hot and uncomfortable. She reached around the pillow but couldn't find her phone. With great difficulty, she sat up and discovered that her phone was lying on the floor in two pieces.

Oh no, my phone is unusable now.

She grabbed the water bottle on the bedside table, drank a few sips, and felt a little better. She changed her clothes and went downstairs to buy some fever reducers. When she came back, she endured the discomfort and cooked herself a bowl of noodles. After eating and resting for a while, she took the fever reducers and went back to her room to lie down.

She had endured countless days of illness in the past, and she had grown accustomed to such a life.

There was an alarm clock on the table in the room; she had set the time so she wouldn't oversleep and affect her afternoon classes.

After taking the medicine, her fever subsided when she woke up, but her head hurt a lot. She washed up, picked up her books, then picked up the phone that had been smashed in two on the ground and put it in her bag. She only had one class in the afternoon, and she would go see if her phone could be repaired after class.

Zhou Tingting didn't come to class in the afternoon. After finishing the first class, she rushed to get her phone repaired so she wouldn't miss any messages from her younger brother.

To avoid Pan Lei, she still left the school through the back door.

But this time, Pan Lei caught up with them.

To get to the station from the back gate, you have to go through an alley. There are usually many people coming and going in the alley, so Mo Xiaotuo didn't think much of it and went in.

Not long after she entered the alley, she found that there were very few people today, or rather, almost no one.

She panicked a little, lowered her head, and quickened her pace toward the alley entrance.

Pan Lei stood at the entrance of a side alley and saw Mo Xiaotuo walking towards him. He smirked smugly, thinking, "Let's see if this little bitch can fly away today."

When the others reached the fork in the road, he rushed out from the side and blocked their way.

"Xiao Tuo, you always told me before that you would save your first time for your wedding night. I thought you were really that innocent. But after following you the day before yesterday, I realized that your innocence was all an act. You've already been taken by an old man. You slut!" Pan Lei got more and more agitated as he spoke and couldn't help but slap Mo Xiao Tuo hard across her small face.

Snap!

The sound was crisp, and the handprint was clear.

Before Mo Xiaotuo could even step back, he was slapped so hard that he crashed into the wall, getting a big bump on his forehead.

"Hehe... You're a used shoe now, aren't you? I don't mind a used shoe, it's free anyway." Pan Lei laughed to himself, then stepped forward and grabbed Mo Xiaotuo's hair again.

Mo Xiaotuo was knocked unconscious by the heavy impacts.

"You bitch, trying to fake fainting to gain my sympathy? Let me tell you, I won't be fooled by you a second time." Pan Lei turned her over and shook her frail body violently.

Just then, a figure appeared behind him.

Snap!

With a heavy blow, Pan Lei was knocked unconscious from behind.

Just as the person was about to carry Mo Xiaotuo away, they heard hurried footsteps coming from the alley entrance. The person frowned, glanced at Mo Xiaotuo, and quickly slipped into a nearby alley to leave.

Luo Chen drove the car at full speed from the outskirts of the city. He rushed into the alley like a madman and saw the little woman lying unconscious on the ground, blood gushing from her forehead and a handprint on her face. He panicked.

"Mo Xiaotuo, Mo Xiaotuo!" He carefully picked the person up and called out a few times, but the person in his arms did not respond.

"Take your sister-in-law to the hospital first, I'll handle this." Jiang Kai had warned Brother Chen long ago, but Brother Chen didn't believe him. Luckily, there was that anonymous phone call earlier, otherwise the consequences would have been unimaginable.

"Make sure he can never be a man again!" Luo Chen threw down these words, then grabbed the little woman in his arms and ran quickly out of the alley.

Jiang Kai looked at Pan Lei, who was lying unconscious on the ground, and clicked his tongue in disgust: "I don't want to dirty my hands with this piece of trash."

After saying that, he made a phone call and waited for his people to arrive before driving away.

...

At midnight, in a hospital ward, Luo Chen looked at the little woman on the bed who was talking in her sleep and was still unconscious, and felt very uncomfortable.

Jiang Kai reminded him today, but he felt a surge of anger and didn't take it to heart. If he had arrived late and that scumbag had really done something to hurt Xiao Tuo, he would have felt guilty for the rest of his life.

Outside the ward, Nangong Jiu, Jiang Kai, and Wang Fugui were all standing guard at the door.

The group had originally planned to have dinner together, but now they've all ended up sitting on benches in the hospital corridor instead of eating.

"I never imagined Brother Chen would have this kind of taste. If I had known, I wouldn't have let Brother Chen be single for so long!" Wang Fugui was completely taken aback that Brother Chen had married a twenty-year-old girl. It was truly an eye-opener for him.

"Tch, with your taste, I wouldn't even be interested, let alone Brother Chen." Jiang Kai glanced at Wang Fugui with disdain.

Wang Fugui wasn't upset about being disliked; he just grinned and pouted.

Just then, his phone rang. After answering the call, his expression turned serious.

"What's wrong? Did you find the real kiss of a beauty?" Jiang Kai asked anxiously.

Wang Fugui shook his head with a cold face, clearly indicating that it was another important matter.

"Someone in Country C saw my cousin." He opened his mouth and told them the news he had just received.

"Cousin?" Nangong Jiu was excited when he heard this address.

"Should we tell Brother Chen?" Wang Fugui asked the two of them.

Both fell silent, worried that if their cousin appeared at this moment, it might affect the newlyweds' relationship.

But if I don't tell him, Brother Chen will definitely be angry. After all, my cousin has been missing for five years, and Brother Chen has tried everything to find her for five years.
