Chapter 6, Chapter 6: Arrested

Chapter 6, Chapter 6: Arrested

I spent several hours passionately hurling insults at people on social media, and also took the opportunity to look at other people's guides.

She actually took some of Lu Xiaofeng's words to heart, since she had killed an important NPC who provided crucial clues, and she wanted to know how she should make amends.

Based on everyone's sharing, the plot development of the shared adventure can be roughly divided into three types.

The first development path is the most orthodox, the one followed by those who prioritize the storyline. They follow the quest guide step by step, working with Lu Xiaofeng to find clues, and finally, together with the Red Shoes, expose the true identity of the Embroidered Thief, who turns out to be Jin Jiuling, the person in charge of investigating the case, and bring him to justice.

Some Seven Show players couldn't stand Gongsun Lan's identity and killed her. However, as long as two or more players with red shoes survive, the same "divine strategy" ending can still be achieved.

The second type of solution comes from those who rely on logic. These players are meticulous and, through various clues, discover that Jin Jiuling's income is insufficient to support his character. They begin to trace the source of his income within the game levels, identifying Jin Jiuling as a suspect based on the large amount of unexplained income. Ultimately, they successfully solve the case and achieve a just and just outcome.

The third scenario involves a total wipeout achieved by players who enjoy having fun. They discover that NPCs in a game level will turn red after being subjected to certain stimuli. These players then slaughter all the NPCs in the level, resulting in a scenario where no one survives.

A player who is not a story-driven, mindless, or purely entertaining person discovers through a series of unexpected events that they only have one path left to take.

Although it is difficult to find out the source of income, with the strategies of predecessors in hand, it is not difficult to solve.

"Those who research strategy guides are all good people!"

Looking at the three-page walkthrough with its detailed instructions, I can hardly believe how genius the first person to try this method of completing the game must have been.

One phone opens the walkthrough, the other phone logs into the game, and shows off the adventure. Following the walkthrough, they arrive at the entrance of a pawnshop.

"Shopkeeper, do you have any top-quality luminous pearls here?"

The pawnshop owner said, "Miss, you're joking. This is a pawnshop, not a shop. We don't sell things here."

“I see,” Show off his extraordinary encounter, typing as if reciting a script, and casually pulling out the cat's eye agate necklace that players of JX3 often wear.

“I don’t have enough money on me. It’s my sister’s birthday, and I was thinking of using this necklace to exchange for some luminous pearls to make a hair ornament for her.”

After finishing typing, I decisively walked out.

Pawnshop owner: "Wait!"

Pawnshop owner: "May I take a look at the necklace in your hand, young lady?"

Following the guide, the user showed an impatient emoji after displaying their adventure, directly rejecting the post: "You don't have anything I need here, what's there to see?"

The pawnshop owner said, "Although I don't have any luminous pearls here, I can offer a high price for this necklace. With the money, young lady, you can go to a shop and buy a luminous pearl."

Despite showing off his extraordinary encounter, he still refused: "I've looked at all the shops nearby, and there's nothing good about them. They're all ordinary goods; you can't buy anything good even with money."

He then walked straight out.

Pawnshop owner: "Wait!"

Pawnshop owner: "Young lady, don't go! I have some goods here!"

After saying that, he sneakily ran to the door and looked around, then mysteriously took down the sign that said "Open for Business" and closed the pawnshop door.

What are you doing?

Pawnshop owner: "Please be patient, young lady, and wait a moment."

After saying that, he walked into the back room, and a moment later, he came back with a box.

Pawnshop owner: "Please take a look, young lady."

As soon as the box in his hand was opened, the previously dim room instantly brightened. Showing off his extraordinary encounter, he looked into the pawnshop owner's hand and saw that inside was a top-grade luminous pearl.

"It looks great, I want it!"

The guide mentioned needing a luminous pearl as proof, but this thing is so beautiful that I want to collect one after showing off my adventure.

Her hands moved faster than her brain; by the time she realized what was happening, she had already sent out a message that was completely different from the one in the guide.

"Change to two!"

Upon hearing this, the pawnshop manager's face darkened.

The pawnshop owner said, "If the young lady is not sincere, then there's no point in discussing this deal."

Once his mind returned to normal, he quickly tried to salvage the situation by saying, "I meant to exchange two necklaces for two gems."

As she spoke, she shoved the cat's-eye agate necklace into the pawnshop owner's hand. She racked her brains, trying to come up with her lines.

"Look at this, it's the finest agate and the most exquisite cat's-eye stone. The entire gemstone is pure and flawless, crystal clear, and you can't find a cat's-eye stone of such perfect quality anywhere in the entire capital. And this necklace has a full 16 of them, which is more valuable than a single luminous pearl no matter how you look at it."

"You make a profit on the price difference of one item if you exchange it for another, and you make a profit on the price difference of two items if you exchange it for two, which is a full 100%! Think about it, besides this time, can you ever come across such a profitable deal?"

The pawnshop owner said, "Young lady, you've spoken so eloquently, why don't you keep a necklace for yourself?"

"Of course, nothing is more precious than what you love!"

Showing off her extraordinary encounter, she said confidently, "I didn't think luminous pearls were that rare before, but after seeing them today, I find they are indeed beautiful. My sister has one, so naturally I should have one too."

This self-righteous tone and extravagant spending style convinced the pawnshop owner. Only a pampered young lady who regarded money as dirt could do something like exchanging a top-quality necklace for a luminous pearl.

Having successfully obtained two top-grade luminous pearls, Xiu Chu happily left the pawnshop and was about to head to the next location in her strategy when she saw a large group of soldiers running towards her.

Show off your amazing adventure, craning your neck to look ahead with curiosity.

"What happened? Is it a fame event? Are there fame events in game levels too?"

Before she could figure it out, she saw the group of soldiers rushing towards her surround her.

Soldiers: "The Embroidered Thief is here!"

Showing off her amazing encounter, she quickly turned around: "Where? I can't see it!"

Soldiers: "She's still holding a luminous pearl in her hand; it's stolen goods! Eighteen top-quality luminous pearls have been stolen from the Pingnan Prince's Mansion. She really is a master thief."

Soldiers: "Take him down!"

I started doing quests as soon as I logged in, but before I could even open the martial arts assistant to show off my adventures, I was knocked to the ground and tied up with ropes before I could even react.

Only then did they realize that the "embroidered thief" they were talking about was actually themselves.

"When did I become a master embroidery thief?"

Xiu was shocked, Xiu didn't understand, Xiu wanted to ask.

"Help! An NPC claims I'm a master thief and has arrested me. Has anyone else encountered this? What should I do?"

"Huh? What did you do?"

"Huh? What did you do?"

"Huh? What did you do?"

The world channel is rife with copycat content.

After refreshing more than a dozen times, a kind person finally asked, "Can it run away?"

After glancing at the QTC icon that appeared on the screen, I showed off my adventure and replied, "It should be possible, there's QTC. But I haven't run away yet. Will running away affect the plot? Will I still be able to achieve the fair and just ending?"

"Don't even think about it, it's impossible."

One expert replied: "The prerequisite for a fair and just ending is that the government's reputation reaches the level of respect. You're already wanted, so your reputation is probably negative. You should change your path as soon as possible."

Showing off her amazing experience, she cried out in despair: "Waaaaah, I don't want this to happen!"

"It's hopeless, just drag it out and bury it."

"It's hopeless, just drag it out and bury it."

The world channel has been compromised by copycats once again.

*********

Jin Jiuling's speculation made a lot of sense, but Lu Xiaofeng had a feeling that the person who showed off his extraordinary encounters was not the Embroidered Thief.

"This is all just speculation; you have no evidence, do you?"

After laughing loudly for a while, Jin Jiuling patted Lu Xiaofeng on the shoulder: "Lu Xiaofeng, sometimes I even feel that you are more like a constable than I am."

“When investigating the truth, evidence is not always available. In the government, sometimes all we need is a reasonable reason to arrest a suspect.”

"Once the person is caught, the evidence will naturally come out more easily."

Lu Xiaofeng's pupils contracted as he understood Jin Jiuling's implied meaning: "You want to force a confession out of me?"

"What if they arrest the wrong person?"

"How could that be?" Jin Jiuling said dismissively, "Since they arrested her, it means she's a suspect. It's just a suspect giving a statement; how can that be considered a forced confession?"

You can't do that!

Lu Xiaofeng firmly opposed this method of torture. It wasn't out of pity, but because he felt that using torture to extract confessions would inevitably lead to many wrongful convictions. This was unfair to both the victims and those who were wrongly accused.

After staring at Lu Xiaofeng for a while, Jin Jiuling finally realized his determination.

After a long while, Jin Jiuling sighed deeply.

"Fine, for your sake, I can ask the authorities to refrain from torture for now."

“But I have to issue the arrest warrant.” Jin Jiuling said seriously, “I can only buy you three days at most. After you catch her, you must find evidence within three days to prove that she is not the Embroidery Thief. Otherwise, we will still use torture.”

Jin Jiuling was certain that Lu Xiaofeng would agree.

"Are you sure you have the ability to catch her?" Lu Xiaofeng didn't agree immediately, but asked in return.

“She can kill all the members of the Red Shoes in twelve breaths. With her skill, are you sure those ordinary soldiers in the yamen can catch her? If too many soldiers die, I'm afraid you will also be held responsible.”

"Haha, you're overthinking it." Jin Jiuling laughed and said, "This is not your concern, we have our own way of handling it."

Upon hearing this, Lu Xiaofeng gave Jin Jiuling a deep look, took a deep breath, and then spoke.

"Okay, I promise you."

"But you must also promise that when you are pursuing Xiu Chuqi, you will not let the soldiers draw their swords first."

Why is that?

"Will you agree or not?"

Lu Xiaofeng did not explain, but stubbornly asked.

Jin Jiuling was stunned for a moment, but after looking at the serious look in Lu Xiaofeng's eyes, he finally nodded.

"Okay, I agree."

A gentleman's word is his bond.

Lu Xiaofeng stretched out his palm.

Jin Jiuling also raised his hand and clapped.

"A journey of a thousand miles cannot be overtaken."
