Chapter 1 Being Descended from the Mountain
Late spring, late at night, a dilapidated temple, heavy rain.
Lightning flashed across the night sky, and amidst the sounds of thunder and rain, the clash of weapons echoed from not far away into the dilapidated temple.
Inside the dilapidated temple, by the campfire, sat a person sitting cross-legged. The person wore a dark green robe, and their hair was held up by a wooden hairpin that resembled a withered tree branch. In the flickering firelight, the emerald green pendant hanging around their neck seemed to have taken on a reddish tinge.
Hearing the sounds of clashing weapons coming from not far away, the man sighed softly, and then a clear voice rang out in the dilapidated temple, "To intervene or not to intervene, that is the question." The man slowly raised his head, and in the firelight, he saw a face as beautiful as the moon in the sky, with a resolute look in his eyes.
Well, although now that resilience seems to have turned into helplessness.
"Seriously, I can't ignore it now, it's right in front of me." Ling Hao heard the voice getting closer and closer, and there were even human voices mixed in with it, so she had no choice but to stand up. She picked up the raincoat from the ground, put it on, put the hat on her head, and then turned and went into the rain.
"Tian Boguang, you'll die a horrible death!" Two women dressed in tight-fitting clothes struggled to hold on, their garments torn and their bodies covered in wounds. Despite this, they showed no sign of giving up.
The man standing opposite them laughed twice, then swept his flirtatious gaze over them from head to toe. “I’m sure I won’t die a good death, but before that, I’ll definitely enjoy a blissful death.”
The two women, who had been barely clinging to life, felt nauseous and furious upon seeing this. Their pale faces, etched with blood loss, were filled with resentment.
The woman, who appeared two or three years older, gripped her sword tightly. "Even if we die today, we, her fellow disciples, will make you pay the price! Junior sister!" She had made up her mind; she would perish together with Tian Boguang today!
"I understand, Senior Sister." The petite woman understood her senior sister's implication: they probably wouldn't be able to leave today. Even if they couldn't risk their lives, they absolutely couldn't let Tian Boguang get away with it!
Tian Boguang completely ignored the two women's words. He chuckled twice, then grabbed his knife and aimed at their right hands. So what if they knew martial arts? So what if they knew swordsmanship? Once he crippled their right hands, they would be no different from crippled people, and could do whatever he wanted with them.
"What I, Tian Boguang, like most are girls like you who would rather die than submit, hahaha..."
"So, you are Tian Boguang, the lone traveler of ten thousand miles."
The sudden sound startled Tian Boguang, who quickly somersaulted back several steps. Gripping his knife, he cautiously looked in the direction of the approaching person. The person had clearly walked over slowly, step by step, yet he hadn't noticed a single sound from them.
This is not right. Tian Boguang has been able to roam the martial arts world for so long without being killed for two reasons: first, his martial arts skills are high enough and his lightness skills are good enough to allow him to escape many pursuits; second, it is because of his caution. Even when he is acting, he will never let his guard down.
Tian Boguang was focused on dealing with the two female disciples, but he hadn't let his guard down at all. How could he not hear the footsteps of the approaching person? There's only one possibility: the person's martial arts skills are higher than his, which is why he couldn't hear them.
"Who are you?" Tian Boguang looked at the man in the straw raincoat, his wariness growing even stronger.
“Me?” Ling Hao drew his sword and sighed helplessly, “Someone who was just brought down from the mountain.”
"You intend to help them?" Tian Boguang assessed the two women's strength, deciding whether to let his almost-captured prey escape or take a gamble and seize both. He was still somewhat unwilling to let them go.
These two fellow disciples came from the same school and had spent many years together, so their reactions were often the same. Moreover, they had strong personalities, and if he were to capture them, the experience would certainly be different from with the women he had encountered before. Thinking of this, Tian Boguang was truly unwilling to let them go so easily.
These two are disciples of the Emei Sect. If we let them go like this, we won't have many more chances to encounter them in the future. Thinking this, Tian Boguang hesitated.
"No." Ling Hao shook her head.
The female disciples, whose eyes had lit up at Ling Hao's appearance, were immediately disappointed. However, they knew that others were not obligated to help them. After all, they had originally planned to perish together with Tian Boguang, that lecherous scoundrel, so now it was just a matter of returning to the way things were.
Ling Hao raised the sword in her hand. "I'm here to exchange you for money. I'm sorry, I'm very poor." With that, the sword in Ling Hao's hand flew away from her like lightning.
Sword Breaking Style!
"Such a fast sword!" Tian Boguang realized it was too late to escape and could only fight back with his knife. "You brat, who are you? Why are you going against your grandpa?!" This sword technique was so strange; he had never seen it in the martial world before. Which sect did this come from? Or was it a disciple taught by some reclusive master?
“First of all, I’m not a brat.” Ling Hao said, and followed the sword to Tian Boguang.
Tian Boguang almost had half his face sliced off by that sword. He dodged quickly and only lost a lock of hair, but it still terrified him. "Hey, I admit defeat, I admit defeat, okay? You let me go, and I'll let these two girls go, and we'll call it even."
He tried to fight back while simultaneously thinking of how to escape, only to find that all his escape routes were blocked. How could this be? How could the enemy have blocked all his escape routes in such a short time?
"Second, you're not my grandfather." Ling Hao's sword returned to her hand. "Third, you're too noisy."
The two female disciples, supporting each other, braved the falling rain. Suddenly, a strange man appeared and defeated Tian Boguang with bizarre sword techniques. Not only that, the strange man also crippled Tian Boguang's tendons and ligaments with a single wave of his hand.
"That way you'll behave." Ling Hao thought for a moment, then squatted down, picked up a stone from the ground, and used her inner strength to smash it against Tian Boguang. "I almost forgot, I'm confiscating your tools of the trade."
"ah--!"
A womanizer should have her tools confiscated, shouldn't she? She should have been more comfortable using a sword, but she didn't want to get her sword dirty.
The female disciples who witnessed this scene couldn't help but shudder. They felt that the strange man's behavior was somewhat frightening, unlike someone from a prestigious sect. But they had to admit that they felt a great sense of relief.
