Chapter 12 Who exactly is it?
Who exactly is in Chapter Twelve?
Gongzi Mingyue, no, or perhaps he should be called Gongzi Yu. But in fact, he wasn't quite the complete Gongzi Yu.
Born into royalty, he was forced to leave the palace as an infant due to the power struggles within the royal family. Not only that, he couldn't even stay in the capital. After he could walk, he was sent overseas to be raised by Shen Lang. The person who sent him to Shen Lang had some connection with him, and given his natural talent and suitability for martial arts, he became Shen Lang's disciple.
Born into a noble family, possessing exceptional talent and innate intelligence, he was raised by a legendary figure in the martial arts world. Furthermore, his cousin, who later ascended the throne, cared for him for a period and had a good relationship with him, so Gongzi Yu did not suffer any mistreatment. However, he was unfortunately too clever.
Sometimes, it's necessary for people to be a little oblivious in order to avoid a hard life. Gongzi Yu was too clever; he saw through many things, which ironically made his heart less clear. In his view, the hustle and bustle of this world, the comings and goings, were ultimately nothing more than the same things, and many of them were quite boring.
His parents had another child after Gongzi Yu left, and they were probably trapped in the household, with nothing else to do but have children. However, that child didn't even live to be two years old, because the couple had an argument and he was accidentally thrown to his death.
Later, Gongzi Yu's birth mother stabbed his father to death in the middle of the night and then committed suicide. Although the royal family covered it up, he still found out. Gongzi Yu had never cared about the couple; he had always been indifferent to them.
However, Gongzi Yu had seen his one-year-old brother before. That year, Shen Lang secretly brought him to the capital, where he saw his brother kicking his legs in the cradle. Although he had never thought having a brother was anything special before, after learning of his brother's death, he locked himself in his room for a whole day and refused to come out.
When Gongzi Yu pushed open the door again, he had changed; he now had another identity: his younger brother. That poor child didn't even have a name, only the nickname "Mingyue Nu." Thus, Gongzi Yu became Gongzi Yu and Gongzi Mingyue.
Although he was a single person, and although Gongzi Yu was perfectly aware that he was merely ill and not actually carrying another person inside him, Gongzi Mingyue did not believe so. He firmly believed that he did have an older brother, and that he was his brother's younger brother.
Therefore, Gongzi Mingyue is both Gongzi Yu and not Gongzi Yu.
That day, when Young Master Mingyue saw that it was raining heavily outside, he felt depressed and ran out to get soaked. His health was not good, and getting soaked in the rain was a big no-no, so his men naturally chased after him. Although Young Master Yu was very skilled in martial arts, Young Master Mingyue only knew light footwork, and he was very good at it, so he lay on a tree to get soaked in the rain.
Ling Hao sought shelter from the rain in a dilapidated temple in the woods. Gongzi Mingyue saw her but paid no attention to her, simply remaining perched on a tree. Later, he saw Tian Boguang and the two women he was chasing, as well as Ling Hao, who later came to his rescue.
Young Master Mingyue didn't see anything different about such a kind person who saved lives. Many people in the martial arts world claim to be chivalrous and righteous, but in reality, it's all the same. He saw through it when he was young; it's all meaningless.
It wasn't until Ling Hao crippled Tian Boguang, rendering him useless, that Gongzi Mingyue paid her a second glance. But that was all; women are generally more protective of other women, a fact he had long known about his master's wife.
What piqued Gongzi Mingyue's curiosity was when she rode past the tree the next day. She should have been no different from any other martial artist, yet she was overjoyed while riding, even waving her fist. For some reason, at that moment, her genuine joy and cuteness were imprinted in Gongzi Mingyue's eyes.
He became curious about Ling Hao and followed her. However, she was highly skilled in martial arts and very perceptive. If it weren't for Gongzi Mingyue having Gongzi Yu's internal energy, being able to disguise herself, and having excellent lightness skills, she would have been discovered long ago.
He followed Linghao all the way, seeing her as a martial arts master in public, but cheerful and adorable in private; seeing her compassion for ordinary people, always considering their needs when she helped them. In Gongzi Mingyue's eyes, although Linghao's life was quite ordinary, she seemed to be bathed in sunshine, happy every day.
She looked so warm, and I longed to be by her side. Once this thought crossed his mind, Gongzi Mingyue was no longer content with just watching her. He wanted to be by her side, to become her friend, and to see if he too could bask in that sunshine.
What Gongzi Mingyue didn't expect was that everything he had planned wouldn't go according to plan. Ling Hao clearly cherished those with good health and would have given extra care to those with good looks, but she deliberately left him behind.
He didn't understand. He was good enough as a baby, so why wouldn't she like him?
Gongzi Mingyue was not one to give up easily. Since she had run away, he would catch up with her. He felt they could become friends, and he wanted to be friends with her.
So he chased after them all the way to the outskirts of Fuzhou.
"Achoo! Achoo! Achoo!" Linghao sneezed three times in a row after finding a place to stay. She couldn't help but wonder if she was sneezing because she hadn't eaten the wind, but because someone was crickets chirping on her back.
After much thought, Linghao couldn't find a reasonable suspect, so she concluded that it was those she had sent to jail who were cursing her. And it made sense; they had been living carefree lives, but she had thrown them into prison, taking away all their glory and leisure. It would be strange if they didn't hate or curse her.
Being insulted by these people didn't bother Linghao at all; on the contrary, she felt she had done the right thing. The people those bad people insulted weren't necessarily good people, but they were definitely people who made bad people uncomfortable. She was proud to be that kind of person; after all, someone praised by bad people must be truly wicked.
Ling Hao stopped dwelling on the matter and instead planned to secretly make a trip to the Fuwei Escort Agency that night. Since she had appeared before the agency's downfall, she should lend a helping hand. Those heartless bastards, Yu Canghai and his ilk, had killed over a hundred people from the Fuwei Escort Agency just for a sword manual.
Thinking of this, Ling Hao felt a restless urge to draw the sword at her waist. However, she felt that her martial arts skills were no match for Yu Canghai's, so it was better to act secretly and interfere in the matter.
So, as night fell, she dressed in a dark green outfit and quietly flew into the Fuwei Escort Agency.
