Chapter 14, A Fool, A Fool...
Chapter Fourteen: A Fool
"Father, Mother, what are you doing?" Lin Pingzhi was already about to fall asleep when Lin Zhennan and his wife woke him up again. He followed them into their room, looking puzzled.
"Come in," Lin Zhennan said.
"Come on, copy it." Madam Lin pushed Lin Pingzhi to a table and made him sit down. There were writing brushes, ink, paper and inkstones on the table.
Lin Pingzhi asked, puzzled, "Copy what?"
"Sword manual." Lin Zhennan sat down and began copying. "Copy it quickly if you don't want to die." He was telling the truth, but to Lin Pingzhi it sounded like a threat.
So he dared not ask any more questions and began to copy it obediently. But this sword manual was so strange. It started with something like, "To practice this skill, one must first castrate oneself." What fool would want to practice this? He wasn't out of his mind. Did his parents buy this from some street stall? And this sword manual was even copied onto a cassock. It looked so odd.
No, this is too childish! How can you learn martial arts like this... "Ouch!"
Madam Lin gave Lin Pingzhi a slap, "Hurry up and copy it. If you don't copy ten copies before dawn, you're dead."
Lin Pingzhi: "..."
No, he was just lost in thought for a moment, why was his mother so fierce? Lin Pingzhi grumbled to himself, but dared not slow down. His mother was usually not angry, but when she really got angry, she was terrifying. So, if his mother was really angry, he absolutely had to obey, otherwise he would be in big trouble.
After three people diligently copied the ten long, scroll-like sword manuals, they were finished. But they didn't stop; they continued copying. Just then, someone jumped in through the window and picked up the scrolls.
"I'll be back soon." After saying that, the man left again, coming and going in a hurry, as light as a swallow, clearly a master.
"Ah!" Lin Pingzhi suddenly stood up. "That was my benefactor! Father, Mother, why did she come? Why didn't we treat her well? Oh dear, she's gone."
Seeing Lin Pingzhi's startled expression, Lin Zhennan and his wife exchanged a glance, sighed inwardly, and then said, "Pingzhi, your father and mother have something to say."
"Pingzhi, listen up." For some reason, Lin Pingzhi felt a little uneasy, as if what his parents were about to say might be a bit scary.
Ling Hao left Fuwei Escort Agency with the copied sword manual in her arms, and the Qingcheng Sect disciples guarding outside the agency didn't even notice her. She had already made several trips back and forth to the agency. First, she came to find Lin Zhennan and his wife to reach a cooperation agreement, then she went out to their old house to get the Evil-Repelling Sword Manual copied on the cassock, brought it back to them, then went out to find a suitable place, and now she was leaving with the sword manual in her arms.
She thought, if the Qingcheng Sect wasn't too useless, then she was just too powerful. She'd gone back and forth so many times, and they hadn't even noticed. Ling Hao began to reconsider her combat strength; perhaps she was even more powerful than she thought?
After leaving the Fuwei Escort Agency, Ling Hao found several places where martial arts practitioners gathered most often—places she had previously scouted—and secretly pasted the scroll sword manual on the wall. After pasting it up, she threw stones into the rooms of those martial arts practitioners, and only left after seeing them come out and discover the sword manual, heading to the next place.
She worked quickly; ten sword manuals were nothing to her. After finishing, Ling Hao returned to the Fuwei Escort Agency and saw that the Lin family had copied several more copies. She took them and left. This time, she randomly tossed them into the rooms of the martial arts practitioners, deliberately avoiding the Qingcheng Sect members.
After finishing all these things to stop vomiting, I saw the sun starting to rise and smiled.
The Evil-Repelling Sword Manual, is it? Now it's the Evil-Repelling Sword Manual openly displayed in public. Want the manual? It's simple, just go find it on the street.
The weather was kind; it was sunny all day until nightfall when it started to rain. Ling Hao thought that this day would be enough to liven up the entire city of Fuzhou.
"As expected of her, she's truly intelligent." Young Master Mingyue looked at the message from below, his eyes full of admiration. She was indeed the friend he had chosen; she was indeed clever. Then he glanced at the poems, "From now on, you must protect your young lady, but you cannot let her find out. If anyone tries to harm her, you must intervene, treating her as you would me."
Although he knew Linghao was intelligent, skilled in swordsmanship, and adept at light footwork, he knew that the human heart was treacherous, and that no poison in the world could be as deadly as the human heart. Young Master Mingyue worried that Linghao's kindness might make her a target for schemes, so he wanted to add an extra layer of protection for her.
Shi Ci subconsciously glanced up at Gongzi Mingyue, but was startled by the abyss-like coldness in his eyes and looked away. She bowed her head and obeyed, "Shi Ci will obey your command, sir."
Seeing this, Gongzi Mingyue nodded in satisfaction. "Have all the things been delivered?"
“Yes, young master, it’s all ready,” Shici replied.
"Okay, go out." Young Master Mingyue waved his hand.
The poem was obedient and left.
Young Master Mingyue returned to his room, which was now filled with all sorts of new clothes and accessories. He looked at this and that, pondering which garment would look best on him and which accessory would suit him best.
Master's wife once said that women love beauty. She had liked Master for ten years because of his handsome face, so Young Master Mingyue believed her. He also thought that his failure to befriend Linghao last time was partly due to his sloppiness (which wasn't really the case). Therefore, this time he wanted to dress up nicely, to the point of being dazzling, so that Linghao would definitely be willing to befriend him.
Young Master Mingyue, who was focused on dressing up, was unaware that what his master's wife meant by women liking to be pretty was not the same thing he understood.
Night was falling when Young Master Mingyue finally finished dressing. He was adorned in magnificent finery, like a noble young master, with a handsome face and tall, slender figure, exuding an air of refined elegance. Looking at himself in the mirror, he was quite satisfied.
Just then, it started to rain outside. Upon hearing the rain, Young Master Mingyue's expression immediately changed. The next moment, the person in the mirror seemed to have changed, or rather, his expression changed, to the point that his appearance also changed. Just moments before, he had resembled a noble young master, but now he seemed to possess a more sinister air.
"What an idiot," Gongzi Yu sneered, looking at his reflection in the mirror.
He was not referring to himself, but to Gongzi Mingyue.
A note from the author:

When it rains at night, my personality starts to switch. Last time, my younger brother suddenly appeared, and because I was in a bad mood, I deliberately went out to get soaked in the rain.
