Chapter Four: Peace of Mind

In the eyes of these two fellow disciples, Ling Hao had appeared out of nowhere to save them, and had taken great care of them, being considerate and thoughtful in every way, without ever seeming condescending. Furthermore, she didn't take credit for it; no matter how you looked at her, she was a truly kind and good-hearted person.

Just looking at her made them feel at ease, and all their previous fear and resentment disappeared.

They glanced with disgust at the unconscious Tian Boguang lying in the corner, then looked at Ling Hao. "Benefactor, why didn't you kill her? That Tian Boguang harassed and insulted women everywhere; he deserves to die."

The two women thought to themselves that perhaps their benefactor was too soft-hearted; even with a villain like Tian Boguang, she hadn't killed him. But it didn't matter; they could do it for her and would never dirty her sword.

Ling Hao glanced at Tian Boguang lightly, then looked away. "Wouldn't killing him like this be too easy for him? According to the laws of the Great Zhou Dynasty, anyone who sexually assaults a woman shall be punished with castration and then with the death penalty. Such a 'good thing' is most suitable for him."

During her time on the mountain, Linghao didn't just visit the Huashan Sect and then rush to Fuzhou; she gathered a lot of information about this world. Although there were familiar martial arts figures here, such as Yue Buqun, it wasn't a simple martial arts world.

In short, this is a mixed martial arts world. There's Yue Buqun, the Sun Moon Cult, but also Lu Xiaofeng and Chu Liuxiang, and the Four Great Constables. Most importantly, there are two Sun Moon Cults here: one led by Dongfang Bubai, and the other by Yang Dingtian.

Something just doesn't seem right, does it? Linghao certainly felt something was off. But whatever she thought, that's just how the world is, and she couldn't change it, so she could only try to live her life here.

The dynasty here is called Zhou, and the current emperor is a woman. However, this is not strange in the Great Zhou. Throughout the history of the Great Zhou, there have been both men and women, half and half, and no one finds it strange that a woman is the emperor.

However, precisely because several women had served as emperors, although women's status wasn't actually that low, the laws of the Great Zhou Dynasty protected women's rights. The law that Linghao mentioned to her fellow disciples in the Emei Sect was real; she had specifically researched it.

This era, though not the best, wasn't too bad either, which made Linghao less inclined to offer "friendly greetings" to the ancestors who sent her to this world.

"Is that really so?" Upon hearing this, the two sisters' eyes sparkled, as if the flames on the bonfire in front of them had jumped into their eyes.

“Of course.” Ling Hao nodded.

“But…” the senior sister hesitated, “benefactor, didn’t you just…” She gestured, and the other two people present understood what she meant.

Ling Hao smiled slightly, "What I want is for the whole world to know about this, not just the three of us." Otherwise, how can it be called "famous throughout the world"?

That philanderer is clearly a rapist. No matter how much the original novel later describes Tian Boguang's loyalty, Linghao simply dislikes and despises him. Since she has the ability to subdue him, why would she give up so easily?

Of course, she genuinely wanted to exchange Tian Boguang for money, because she had seen his wanted poster when she handed the bandits over to the authorities; he was incredibly valuable. That scoundrel Tian Boguang, when lustful, would touch anyone, even a government official. Although the official was a woman, she felt no pain from the loss of her virginity, only hatred for her shattered pride. She had issued a hefty bounty on Tian Boguang's life, dead or alive.

Not only that official, but other officials in the government also regarded Tian Boguang as a thorn in their side. They could fight among themselves, but they could not be humiliated like this. Tian Boguang was dancing on the face of the Great Zhou Dynasty. If he didn't die, who would?

Actually, there was one more thing Linghao didn't mention: although she had crippled Tian Boguang, his "eggs" (i.e., his sexual partners) hadn't been completely removed. If she sent him to the authorities, his "eggs" would definitely be removed, which would be another blow to him.

That's right, she wanted Tian Boguang to completely break down; that's how wicked she is. Hehehe.

"Our benefactor is absolutely right." Now, in the eyes of these two fellow disciples, Linghao is perfect in every way.

Bathed in their admiring gazes, even her good posture straightened a little more. Ahem, she's just that cool, there's nothing I can do about it, hahaha.

If those two women knew what Linghao was thinking, her radiant and imposing image would probably crumble in half. Fortunately, the image Linghao wanted to maintain was preserved.

The next day, the rain completely stopped and the sky cleared. Linghao was about to part ways with her two fellow disciples. They were going north to find their master and other fellow disciples, while she was going south to catch up with Yue Buqun and Linghu Chong. She watched them leave the dilapidated temple before dragging Tian Boguang out of it.

Ling Hao raised his hand, placing his thumb and forefinger between his lips, and then a loud horse whistle rang out. A short while later, a clattering sound followed, and then a black horse appeared. Its coat was glossy and smooth, clearly indicating it was well-cared for.

"Yunduo!" Ling Hao tossed aside Tian Boguang and patted the black horse that had come up to her with delight. "How was it? Did you have fun in the back last night?"

"Neigh." Cloud neighed twice, as if to say that it had a good night. And it really had a good night. Its owner had to go into the rain to save people, while it only needed to hide in the backyard of the dilapidated temple to avoid the rain, eat hay, and sleep. It had a very good night.

Ling Hao found Yun Duo in a bandit's den; she didn't know where they had stolen it from. They had taken such a fine horse as Yun Duo but didn't treat it well. When she found it, its coat was dull, and its large eyes seemed to be filled with tears as it looked at her—it was incredibly pitiful.

Ling Hao took it away and named it Yunduo (Cloud). She spent all the money she earned these days on swords and horses, which is why it's so shiny and healthy.

“Yun Duo, let’s make a deal. Can you hold this guy back?” Ling Hao pointed at Tian Boguang on the ground, ignoring his angry glare. He was useless now, his acupoints had been struck, and he couldn’t do anything. “Yun Duo, he’s our food supply for the next few days.”

"Neigh." Cloud nodded in agreement.

Tian Boguang was certainly not worthy of being mounted on a horse, but in order to hand him over alive, Ling Hao very "kindly" tied Tian Boguang up like a rice dumpling, so that his bones wouldn't be exposed from being rubbed on the ground too much.

As Ling Hao rode his horse, the clouds clattered forward, and he thought to himself in a good mood, "Another day of being a master of the martial arts world."

A note from the author:

----------------------

My period has started, and this time the pain is less than before. I've found that eating more meat before my period really helps; it can alleviate menstrual cramps. Red meat (beef and lamb) is the best. For me, this method is more effective than brown sugar water or red dates. It really works!
