Chapter 60, Part Three

Chapter 60, Part Three

Chapter Sixty-Three

Next, the Celestial Dragons quickly arrived at the government office. Ling Hao saw that the previously arrogant government officials were now all trembling with fear. Even the county magistrate, who had not previously shown his face, appeared, and the yamen runners were all full of energy, ready to follow them to bring back the bandits' corpses.

To be honest, Linghao felt like she was watching a TV drama; it didn't feel real. At most, she realized once again that Gongzi Yu's identity was extraordinary, and that he and Mingyue were indeed royal offspring, even though they had been stripped of their titles and no longer had surnames.

But thinking about this, Ling Hao felt relieved. This proved that the current emperor was indeed Mingyue's elder sister, and that her choice to go to the capital to find the emperor was correct. As long as she found the right person, she would definitely be able to find Mingyue.

Gongzi Yu turned around and saw Ling Hao standing there with her eyes crinkled in a smile. He couldn't help but smile, walked up to her, and asked gently, "What are you thinking about?" Was it because of him that she was smiling so happily?

“I was thinking about the bright moon,” Linghao replied.

Gongzi Yu's face immediately darkened. "You're looking at me and thinking about him?" They're clearly the same person, so why are you treating them so differently?

Ling Hao frowned, looking at Gongzi Yu with the eyes of someone looking at a patient. "I wasn't looking at you and thinking about him. I was thinking about him from the very beginning." Why is this guy adding some kind of stand-in act to his role for no reason? They're not a couple, and she's not some kind of scumbag. Stop messing around, okay?

Her words made Gongzi Yu's face even uglier. "You don't even want to look at me anymore?" He and Gongzi Mingyue had the same face, so why didn't she want to look at his face? Was it because it was him that his face was ugly?

Ling Hao: "..."

I don't know why, but I feel a sense of helplessness, like I'm talking to a brick wall.

Suddenly, an idea struck her. "How about this? You tell me where Mingyue is, and I'll go find him. We'll go our separate ways. That way, you won't have to worry about me not wanting to see you, okay?"

If we can't even see it anymore, then there's definitely no need to get angry about this issue, right? Linghao felt that she was really very smart and witty.

"You..." Gongzi Yu felt that if he continued to listen to her, he would definitely get angry to death. "We should go. Those corpses are waiting for someone to clean them up." After saying that, he turned around and walked outside.

This was the first time he hadn't waited for the order to be ready, because he was so angry he was practically numb.

"Don't go, wait for me." Ling Hao chased after him instead. "What's wrong with just telling me where Mingyue is? You won't lose anything."

Gongzi Yu simply gave Ling Hao a deep look, then walked forward silently without saying a word.

"You're really boring," Ling Hao muttered. However, she hadn't placed any hope in Gongzi Yu anyway; she could tell at a glance that he was out of his mind and would never tell her Mingyue's whereabouts. If he were willing to tell her, he would have done so long ago; why had he waited until now?

Hmph, what a domineering older brother! All he does is restrict his younger brother's freedom to make friends and even his personal freedom. He's really wicked. Hmm, this older brother's character seems familiar. He looks a bit like the older brother of the protagonist's friend in some unfinished adventure manga.

It's a bit of a mouthful, but you'll understand it after a couple of glances; that's the gist of it.

In short, Ling Hao couldn't help but look at Gongzi Yu with suspicion. Could it be that he thought everyone outside was a bad person who would corrupt his good younger brother? But according to Mingyue, he had hardly ever met Gongzi Yu since childhood, which didn't seem like the behavior of an older brother who cared for his younger brother.

But upon further reflection, Ling Hao felt it wasn't entirely impossible. After all, Gongzi Yu was no ordinary person; one couldn't judge his thoughts by normal standards. Perhaps he was a loving older brother who cared for his younger brother, even though he didn't see him; perhaps he was simply a psychopath who didn't want to see his brother suffer.

But no matter which one it is, she will take Mingyue with her. She will never leave Mingyue to this obviously mentally unstable person, hmph!

Gongzi Yu felt the glare from behind and became even angrier. In her eyes, he wasn't even a fraction as good as that idiot? Ha, she wanted that idiot to appear? Don't even think about it!

Ling Hao followed behind Gongzi Yu, watching him grow increasingly angry. She truly didn't understand; he was the one who refused to reveal the moon's whereabouts, so why was he the one getting angry? Hmph, if that's how it is, she'll get angry too. So, Ling Hao glared at Gongzi Yu.

At that moment, Gongzi Yu wondered if he shouldn't get angry with her, lest she think that idiot was even better. So he turned around to talk to her. Just then, he saw her. Gongzi Yu stared at her in disbelief.

Ling Hao: "???"

No, why is he looking at her with that inexplicable, almost like he's looking at a scumbag? She didn't scumbag him. Wait, their relationship isn't good anyway; if anyone was going to scumbag someone, it should be Mingyue. Hmm? Something doesn't seem right yet?

For a moment, Linghao felt like her thought process had gone a bit off track.

"Hiss hiss hiss."

Since none of the yamen runners had horses, Linghao and the others led them. As she walked, she felt she heard a sound.

The next moment, Gongzi Yu stood beside her. "Something's not right."

"It looks like... a snake?" Ling Hao wasn't quite sure because the voice was so soft.

“It’s a snake,” Gongzi Yu nodded. As they spoke, their voices grew louder, and they could hear them more clearly.

His gaze towards Ling Hao was full of admiration, something she had already noticed before he did. Their martial arts skills might be roughly equal, but that was because she had very little experience fighting others; in reality, she was even more skilled than him.

Just like now, she noticed the movement earlier than he did.

"Stop looking around." Ling Hao drew his sword. "They're here." It was obvious that this person was up to no good. Why are you looking around instead of focusing on the enemy?

Gongzi Yu lowered his right hand, and several flying stones landed between his fingers. "Good."

While they were speaking, the constables all hid behind Ling Hao and his men. They all understood that when it came to saving their lives, they shouldn't act recklessly, or they could really die. They weren't martial arts masters; if they didn't want to die, they had to be shrewd.

Before long, a group of snakes slithered out from all directions and surrounded them.

Ling Hao narrowed her eyes slightly and said to Gongzi Yu, "One person on each side?"

“Okay.” Gongzi Yu nodded.

The two men, one on each side, killed snakes as easily as mowing grass. Ling Hao used sword energy, and with each strike, dozens of snakes were blasted away. Although Gongzi Yu used flying stones, he also used internal energy to release it outwards, killing dozens of snakes at a time.

A whole swarm of snakes had initially emerged, terrifying some of the constables to the point of weakness. However, they hadn't expected that even this swarm wouldn't be enough to overpower the two men. For a moment, their gazes towards the two men were filled with awe. Fortunately, they hadn't offended them too much that day, or they would have ended up like the snakes.

Just as the snakes were wiped out, Ling Hao heard a sound like a toad. She immediately thought of someone, but before she could think further, a dark shadow appeared out of nowhere and headed towards her.

Ling Hao immediately flew to meet him.

I was already in a bad mood today, so this is a good opportunity to take it out on this person!

A note from the author:

----------------------

I'm being too hard on myself, and I'm competing with someone else, hahaha.

P.S.: Regarding the reason why Gongzi Yu is slightly taller than Gongzi Mingyue even though they are in the same body, I wonder if any of you have guessed it?
