Chapter 83 Some Speculation Chapter 83 There is…
Chapter 83 Some Speculation
"Uncle." When Gongzi Yu saw that the person who came was Zhuge Zhengwo, he stood up and greeted him.
He may not be one to mingle with people, but that doesn't mean he's ignorant of manners. Zhuge Zhengwo had been kind to him back then, and had always remembered him, sending him gifts to the island every year. Therefore, when facing him, Gongzi Yu always treated him with the respect due to a junior.
"Young Master," Zhuge Zhengwo replied with a smile, "It's been a long time." While the other party was indeed showing the respect due to a junior, he wouldn't truly consider himself Young Master Yu's elder. Young Master Yu's father had indeed been expelled from the royal family and no longer even had a surname, but since the Emperor recognized him as his younger brother, he was still considered a member of the royal family.
As an elder of the royal family, and even a generation older than the emperor, Zhuge Zhengwo didn't consider himself that magnanimous.
He then looked at Linghao and said with a smile, "Linghao, nice to meet you."
"Greetings, Divine Marquis." Ling Hao clasped her hands in a gesture of respect. She looked at him curiously for a few moments, thinking to herself, "So this is Zhuge Zhengwo."
He did indeed look quite old, as if he had weathered many storms, but his eyes were bright and clear, still full of childlike curiosity about the world. Of course, someone like him, who had experienced so much, couldn't possibly be as innocent as a child; he was simply worldly-wise but not cynical.
He reminded Linghao of her master, the old man, who also had such clear eyes. She missed him a little, but unfortunately, she didn't know where he had gone, and couldn't even send him a letter anymore.
Zhuge Zhengwo smiled and said, "No need to be so polite. Your master and I are friends, so you are my niece. Just call me Uncle. We're all family, no need for such formalities." As he spoke, he took out a sword tassel from his sleeve. "A small gift. It's nothing, just take it and play with it."
Since he had said so, Linghao naturally couldn't refuse. "Thank you, Uncle." She accepted the sword tassel and immediately hung it on the snow. The light blue tassel swayed slightly, perfectly suited to her sword.
Gongzi Yu's gaze sharpened for a moment, then he glanced at the sword tassel again. However, he quickly looked away, worried that if Ling Hao saw him, she would find it distasteful that he was still sulking over an object. He just wished that he had given her the sword tassel, so that his possession could always be with her.
He had long prepared countless gifts for her, including numerous sword tassels. But he had never found the right opportunity to give them to her, and now someone else had beaten him to it. Gongzi Yu glanced at that "someone else."
Zhuge Zhengwo: "..."
Although he was now alone, he wasn't ignorant of romance and beauty. In his past years, he had seen and experienced much, and naturally, he understood much as well. He had some guesses about Gongzi Yu's thoughts, but he simply found them amusing.
He and the Emperor had previously thought that Prince Yu would live a lonely life, but who knew that this eternally blockhead would actually fall in love? How interesting! However, he wouldn't remind Prince Yu that matters of the heart are like drinking water; only the person experiencing it knows whether it's hot or cold. If outsiders interfere, things could get complicated.
So Zhuge Zhengwo smiled and put on a kind and amiable elder's appearance. "I've come to see the young master and also to meet my niece whom I've never met before." As he said this, his tone became somewhat helpless. "Linghao, your master is really stubborn. He hasn't sent me a letter in all these years, let alone told me that he's taken on a disciple."
When the Huashan Incident occurred, Feng Qingyang, who was traveling, rushed back, but it was too late. From that day on, he disappeared, refusing to have any contact with anyone, including Zhuge Zhengwo. Although Zhuge Zhengwo knew he was definitely not dead, he was still worried about him.
Who knew he would actually hide for a decade or two? If it weren't for Ling Hao, a martial arts prodigy, suddenly appearing, Zhuge Zhengwo would have guessed that Feng Qingyang had died of old age. "If you see your master, have him send me a letter."
Even if we can't see each other, surely the letter will arrive?
Ling Hao smiled somewhat awkwardly, "Uncle, don't worry, if I really see Master, I will definitely ask him to write you a letter." She still doesn't know where her old master has gone, sigh.
Zhuge Zhengwo knew at a glance that the person had run away again. "Never mind, let's talk about it later." He figured his old friend was still unable to face the situation, so he wouldn't force him. Knowing that he was still alive was enough.
Seeing the two of them chatting so happily (?), Gongzi Yu felt a little displeased. He didn't want Ahao's gaze to fall on others, and even less did he want her to look at others instead of him. However, he knew he couldn't force her, and even less did he want to force her, because if he did, Ahao would be unhappy.
More than being neglected or ignored, Gongzi Yu didn't want her to be unhappy. So he could only endure it, but it was hard for him to bear, so his deep gaze fell on Zhuge Zhengwo.
He was just playing the piano and talking with Ah Hao, having a wonderful time. Why is this person getting involved?
Zhuge Zhengwo, who was being stared at by the piercing gaze, was speechless.
Actually, it was quite good that he was neglected by Gongzi Yu before, really.
"This isn't the place to talk. Let's go inside and have some tea." Ling Hao didn't notice anything amiss with Gongzi Yu. Instead, she felt it wasn't the right time to be hospitable and warmly invited Zhuge Zhengwo inside for tea.
If Zhuge Zhengwo had any sense, he should have said goodbye by now. But he's not a perceptive person; he just enjoys seeing others sullen. Although Gongzi Yu isn't sullen, he's angry too, which doesn't stop Zhuge Zhengwo from imagining it.
So he happily agreed and followed Ling Hao inside.
Gongzi Yu stared at him silently.
"Ayu." Ling Hao had only taken two steps when she remembered Gongzi Yu and turned back to call him, "Come quickly." Her smile was bright because she was looking at him, and it seemed as if he was the only one in her eyes.
Gongzi Yu's mood immediately brightened, and he quickly walked to her side, saying, "I'm here."
Zhuge Zhengwo raised an eyebrow. Did he just see a well-behaved little puppy? Tsk tsk tsk, was he still seeing the unruly Gongzi Yu?
Gongzi Yu sensed Zhuge Zhengwo's gaze and returned it with a lifeless look.
Zhuge Zhengwo withdrew his gaze. Fine, I won't look then. This stinginess is definitely typical of Gongzi Yu.
Linghao wanted to brew tea for Zhuge Zhengwo herself, but unfortunately, her concept of brewing tea was limited to rinsing it with hot water and then brewing it again with hot water—that was it. Without anyone reminding her, she knew this was a waste of good tea leaves.
Since Zhuge Zheng was a guest, it was impossible for him to come, so Gongzi Yu was the only one who could come. Actually, if he hadn't been reluctant to let the maids in, they could have come too.
"Uncle, please try the tea that A-Yu brewed. Good tea leaves paired with good brewing techniques are an absolute delight." Ling Hao noticed out of the corner of her eye that someone straightened up even more upon hearing her words, and she found that person extremely adorable.
How could anyone be so easily manipulated? Tsk tsk tsk. Ling Hao just found it very funny.
Zhuge Zhengwo, however, found it quite interesting and decided to go to the palace later to chat with the Emperor. The world is always unpredictable; this is a rare case of one thing overcoming another, especially in the case of Gongzi Yu.
Of course, as Ling Hao said, good tea leaves paired with good brewing techniques produce an aroma that fills the air and a sweet, refreshing taste. Zhuge Zhengwo exclaimed, "I have never tasted such good tea before." Then, thinking that even the Emperor had never tasted tea brewed by Gongzi Yu himself, he felt that this tea was even more delicious.
hey-hey.
If Ling Hao knew what Zhuge Zhengwo was thinking, she would definitely call him an old rascal. "I also think this is the best tea I've ever drunk." She was an ordinary person, unable to distinguish the difference between this tea and that tea, nor could she use any elegant language to describe it, but she knew whether it tasted good or not. She was indeed praising Gongzi Yu, but she also genuinely thought the tea was delicious.
Gongzi Yu smiled and poured Linghao another cup. "If you like it, I'll make tea for you from now on." Linghao liked his music, he made her tea, and she liked looking at his face, so it wasn't much different from liking him.
"Then thank you, Ayu." Ling Hao didn't notice the seriousness in Gongzi Yu's words.
Seeing that someone was clearly about to succumb to temptation yet still maintained the demeanor of a gentle gentleman, Zhuge Zhengwo was practically bursting with laughter inside. Just a moment ago, he felt superfluous and embarrassed, but now he thought staying was absolutely the right thing to do.
Otherwise, how could he have seen such a young master as Gongzi Yu? Zhuge Zhengwo chuckled.
Having had tea and watched the show, it's time to get down to business. "Young master, I've actually come to inquire about the Heavenly One Divine Water," Zhuge Zhengwo said solemnly. "The young lady who was captured by Ling Hao yesterday is Gong Nanyan, a disciple of the Divine Water Palace. According to her, she came to the capital because of the theft of the Heavenly One Divine Water."
Tianyi Divine Water is a unique poison of the Divine Water Palace, odorless and tasteless, killing silently. The Divine Water Palace had lost an entire bottle of Tianyi Divine Water, so naturally, an investigation was needed. The person sent to investigate was Gong Nanyan. She tracked the poison all the way from the Divine Water Palace to the capital, where she saw the bodies of Zhamuhe and four others, all dead from the Tianyi Divine Water. Before she could continue her investigation, she was apprehended.
Although Gong Nanyan's presence near the bodies of Zhamuhe and the others was suspicious, there was no evidence to prove she was the murderer, and the Divine Marquis's Mansion couldn't easily torture her. Therefore, she only confessed to this much, and for the time being, they had no better options.
So Zhuge Zhengwo went to find Gongzi Yu, wanting to ask him if he knew anything else. He knew that Gongzi Yu was well-informed, especially about things in the martial arts world; there was practically nothing he didn't know.
“We’ve already made progress,” Gongzi Yu said.
"So fast?" Ling Hao looked at Gongzi Yu incredulously. They had only mentioned this matter this morning, how could there be progress now? And how did they make progress? Was there some kind of telepathic communication system here?
There was no way to transmit a message over a long distance. Gongzi Yu tilted his head and whispered to Ling Hao, "I'll tell you why it's so fast later." He looked like he wanted to keep it a secret.
Ling Hao nodded.
Zhuge Zhengwo: "..."
Is it possible that he can actually hear it?

Author's Note: Gongzi Yu: Liking my music = liking me, liking the tea I brew = liking me, liking my face = liking me. In conclusion, Ahao likes me.
Good idea: ? ? ? ?
