Let's talk about Chapter 123...
Chapter 123 Let's Talk
Hearing the emperor's words, Gongzi Mingyue looked at him with a hint of grievance. He knew that everyone who came to his door wanted to take away Ah Hao's time, even his elder sister was no exception.
The emperor, having understood the look in Gongzi Mingyue's eyes, was speechless.
Or maybe we should just throw this younger brother away; he's no longer of any use.
Linghao said, "Mingyue, could you go to the kitchen and see what dishes are prepared for dinner?"
“Alright.” Young Master Mingyue nodded. “I’ll have someone prepare the dishes you and your sister like.” With that, he turned and headed towards the kitchen. “Sister, you two talk.”
Despite his sorrow, his elder sister held a different weight than the others. He would never have left anyone else.
The Emperor watched Prince Mingyue's retreating figure, a hint of relief appearing in her eyes. Her younger brother finally seemed to have a living presence, instead of being like a ghost drifting among mortals. She then looked at Linghao, "Let's go to the small garden."
"Okay." Ling Hao nodded in agreement; there was no problem going anywhere.
The two entered the pavilion in the small garden, and a breeze blew by, bringing with it the fragrance of flowers, as if the pavilion was permeated with the scent.
"Ah Hao, may I address you as such?" The emperor sat down, gesturing for Ling Hao to sit opposite him.
“Of course.” Ling Hao sat opposite the emperor, her expression calm and without the slightest tension.
The emperor suddenly smiled, "It is Ah Yu's honor to meet you." She finally understood why she found Ling Hao so special—because there was no reverence for imperial power in her eyes. Many people claim to be fearless in the face of power, but in reality, even among the top martial arts masters, few can truly be completely unafraid of imperial authority.
Those who wanted to rebel did so not because they were unafraid of imperial power, but because they desired imperial power; they rebelled because they wanted others to respect them. Perhaps a few people were able to take it in stride, but that came later.
But Linghao was different. She seemed to have an innate disrespect for imperial power, and this disrespect wasn't due to arrogance, but rather because, in her eyes, all people were the same. What an interesting person she was, to think that way.
“Ayu is very good,” Ling Hao said with a smile, “Mingyue is very good too.”
"You consider them separately?" the emperor asked, somewhat surprised.
“Yes.” Ling Hao nodded. “Ayu is Ayu, and Mingyue is Mingyue. In my opinion, they are two completely different people.”
“Except for you, we all believe they are the same person.” The emperor laughed. “I told you you were a very interesting person.”
Ling Hao fell silent. She didn't know how to explain this. In her view, two personalities were simply two people, which was normal and had nothing to do with whether it was interesting or not. However, since the emperor had said this, she didn't want to embarrass her guest, so she didn't know how to respond and could only remain silent.
"Good." The emperor's tone was sincere. "My younger brother is a little different from normal people. Are you prepared to be with him?"
Ling Hao nodded.
The emperor's expression was serious as he said, "As an elder sister, I request that if you two are to be separated in the future, please be kind to him, okay?"
“Unless he crosses my bottom line, we will not separate,” Linghao replied earnestly. “Perhaps the Emperor will think I’m exaggerating, but I truly mean it.” She takes relationships very seriously. Once she starts, she’s aiming for a lifetime together, because Ayu is a part of her future plans.
He was in her life plan, so naturally they were meant to be together forever.
"That's good." The emperor's expression relaxed considerably. "You two will definitely be together for a long, long time." Judging from how worthless A-Yu was in front of her, he would definitely put her first in everything. Even if he didn't understand or comprehend, he would never do anything to displease her. That meant they wouldn't separate. That was wonderful.
The Emperor truly understood her brother. Gongzi Yu had suppressed his feelings countless times because he knew Linghao would be unhappy, so he refrained from doing anything. Otherwise, their relationship wouldn't have lasted, as Linghao was a very self-reliant person.
But precisely because of this, Linghao's relationship began with the intention of spending her whole life with him. She included Gongzi Yu in all her future plans, and she stood in the present, looking towards their future.
"I still have many things to finish, so I'll head back now." With that, the emperor rose to leave. Alas, being an emperor is not easy, being a good emperor is even harder. This trip out of the palace was squeezed in; there was simply no time to waste, especially given all that had happened recently.
Sigh, sometimes I really want to slack off. That's what the emperor was thinking, but if she were actually allowed to rest, she would get up and get back to work.
"Isn't His Majesty staying for dinner?" Ling Hao asked, somewhat surprised, as she stood up. The Emperor had come all this way to this villa just to ask about her and A-Yu? Nothing else?
"No, I really don't have time." The emperor sighed. "Tell that brat I'm leaving now."
“Then I will see His Majesty off,” Ling Hao said.
"No need, I won't be going through the main gate, no need to see me off." The emperor waved his hand, then turned to look at Ling Hao and said with a smile, "You can call me 'elder sister' like that brat. Calling me 'Your Majesty' is too formal. We're all family now."
Linghao opened her mouth, and after a long while, the word "elder sister" finally came out of her mouth.
"Alright, I'm leaving. No need to see me off." The emperor turned and left the small garden.
Ling Hao followed and saw several guards emerge from the shadows and follow behind the emperor. She was indeed heading in the wrong direction, not towards the villa, so she didn't follow.
"Ah Hao? Where is Sister?" When Young Master Mingyue arrived, he only saw Ling Hao and looked around in surprise.
Linghao said, "I'm leaving. I said I'm busy with business and won't stay."
“Alright.” Young Master Mingyue wasn’t surprised at all. His older sister was always very busy and rarely had free time, so he was used to it. However… “What did my sister say to you? Can I know? If not, then there’s no need to say it.”
“She told me to be on good terms with you and to call her ‘elder sister’,” Linghao replied.
"Sister, really!" Young Master Mingyue said angrily, hands on her hips.
Linghao looked at him with some confusion. Was something wrong?
"You called her 'elder sister' but didn't give her a gift?"
Gongzi Mingyue's words were so unexpected that Ling Hao couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"What's wrong? I'm telling the truth, she..." Gongzi Mingyue suddenly felt something was wrong. He looked up and felt water fall on his face. Then everything went black.
"Ayu?" Linghao watched as Mingyue closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, her expression had changed, and her temperament was different.
"Ah Hao." When Gongzi Yu saw Ling Hao in front of him, he rushed forward and hugged her. "Ah Hao, I missed you so much." In this short time, he had read Gongzi Mingyue's memories and also seen his self-hypnosis. He just found it funny.
He really is an idiot, unable to even see his own feelings clearly. But it's fine, this way there's one less person vying for Ah Hao's attention. He hates anyone taking Ah Hao's attention away, even if that person is another version of himself.
Ling Hao hugged Gongzi Yu and said with a smile, "Ah Hao, I missed you too." But she only hugged him for a moment before pulling him into the house. "It's raining." She wasn't the kind of person who wouldn't run home when it rained; people would think she was a fool.
For some reason, Gongzi Yu felt that Ahao's words, "It's raining," seemed to imply something. Maybe it was just his imagination? But it didn't matter; as long as he was with Ahao, nothing else mattered.
On one side, lovers were reunited, and on the other side, best friends were also reunited.
Inside the Divine Marquis's prison cell, Lu Xiaofeng looked around and said, "This place is not bad." Although the cell was located amidst the Divine Marquis's mansion's many traps, it looked clean and safe, clearly not intended for the most wicked and evil people.
He thought to himself that people like Sikong Zhaixing weren't uncommon. Although it seemed like he was in jail, he was actually under protection. The Youqiao Group's problems weren't completely resolved yet, so Sikong Zhaixing was much safer here than outside.
Sikong Zhaixing's lips twitched. "In that case, why don't you come and live with me?"
"Then there's no need," Lu Xiaofeng politely declined. "However, if you really insist on going out, the people of the Divine Marquis's Mansion certainly won't stop you. Or, should I go and tell Marquis Zhuge?"
"No need!" Sikong Zhaixing took two steps back and sat on the bed. "I think it's fine here, there's no need to go out."
Don't think he doesn't know; Zhu Xi is still lurking outside, ready to pounce. Although he revealed those people's identities, he was the one who did the dirty work. If Zhu Xi remembers what he did and gets upset, and then turns him into a eunuch and feeds him meat, he'd rather be dead.
Sikong Zhaixing had already made up his mind that after this matter was over, he would absolutely, positively, positively stay away from women. Especially someone like Zhu Xi; wherever she was, he would stay at least twenty or thirty miles away and would never meet her again.
Lu Xiaofeng knew what he was thinking as soon as he saw his expression, and burst into laughter, "You stinky monkey, you've kicked a hornet's nest, haven't you?"
Sikong Zhaixing wanted to cry, "Yes, I've kicked a hornet's nest, and it's two pieces."
Lu Xiaofeng knew, of course, who the other person was. "Whether it's Ling Hao or Zhu Xi, they are people you can't afford to offend."
Sikong Zhaixing rolled her eyes. "So you think you can afford to offend them?"
"I can't afford to offend them," Lu Xiaofeng said casually, spreading his hands. "Because I know that, I've always been very well-behaved."
Sikong Zhaixing: "..."
Wow, sometimes I really want to punch Lu Xiaofeng hard.
"What do you want from me?" Sikong Zhaixing didn't want to talk to Lu Xiaofeng anymore. If he said any more, he would get angry. This guy should just finish what he was saying and get out of here.
Lu Xiaofeng's expression turned serious. "Sikong Zhaixing, you're hiding something from me, aren't you?"
