Chapter 13
The dormitory door was pushed open, and Jiang Xinhui threw her books on the table with a bang, and said excitedly: "Hey, do you want to hear some good news?"
"What?" Shu Miaomiao's attention was drawn.
"A very handsome professor has come to the School of Biology. I heard he graduated from Stanford."
"How handsome, do you have a photo?"
"Wait, my classmate just sent me a photo. Where is it?" Jiang Xinhui opened her phone and searched for the photo. "Hey, I found it."
Shu Miaomiao came over: "Hey, he's really handsome, what's his name?"
"His last name is Gu, I think it's Gu Hengsheng."
“The name sounds nice too.”
When Gu Qingyue pushed the door open and came in, she heard the three words "Gu Hengsheng". She casually asked, "What are you talking about?"
"We're talking about the new professor at the School of Biology," Shu Miaomiao explained.
Jiang Xinhui held her phone and walked over to Gu Qingyue: "Look, isn't he handsome?"
On the screen was a side profile photo, obviously taken secretly, with a slightly blurry image. He was wearing a blue shirt and grey trousers, with elegant features. One of his hands was resting on the desk, with a slight smile on his face.
Jiang Xinhui continued to ask, "Is he handsome? Hey, Professor Gu and you have the same last name, what a coincidence."
Gu Qingyue nodded and was about to speak when the phone in her hand vibrated. It was her mother calling.
Gu Qingyue went to the balcony to answer the call. Her mother asked, "Do you have classes this afternoon?"
"There are two sections, what's wrong?"
"It's okay. Your seventh aunt is coming to Huai City. Let's have dinner together tonight. Your third uncle will pick you up then."
"Oh, okay."
The two classes in the afternoon were a bit difficult to endure. This was the first time that Gu Qingyue was so eager for the get out of class to end.
By the end of the first class, Gu Qingyue had become less and less interested in listening to the lecture. After thinking about it, she simply took her books and quietly slipped back to the dormitory.
Shu Miaomiao was taking a nap in the dormitory when she heard the door being pushed open. She asked through the curtain, "Who is it?"
"I."
Shu Miaomiao opened the bed curtain, poked her little head out, and stared: "Don't you have classes?"
"I'm back from skipping class."
Shu Miaomiao asked concernedly: "You feel unwell?"
"No." Gu Qingyue shook her head truthfully.
"Then why did you suddenly skip class and come back?" Shu Miaomiao was surprised. "Are you in your rebellious phase?"
"Miaomiao, I'm not eighteen this year."
"I just suddenly wanted to skip classes. Isn't it said that college life is incomplete without skipping classes?" Gu Qingyue comforted herself.
"Oh, then you must fail a test too." Shu Miaomiao said.
Gu Qingyue pulled out a chair and sat down, then heard Shu Miaomiao ask, "Qingyue, your third uncle's last name is Gu, right?"
"how?"
"Hey, I just suddenly thought of something. What's your third uncle's name?" Shu Miaomiao lay at the end of the bed, waiting for her answer with interest.
"Gu Hengsheng." Gu Qingyue said.
Shu Miaomiao was stunned for a moment, then exclaimed: "Isn't that the new professor from the School of Biology?"
"right."
"I just suddenly thought of it, and I didn't expect it to be true." Shu Miaomiao exclaimed, staring at Gu Qingyue's face, and said enviously, "You Gu family members all have good looks."
Gu Qingyue thought, however, that Gu Hengsheng really had a good face.
Gu Hengsheng called, and the voice on the other end was female: "Xiao Qingyue, this is Seventh Aunt Gu Sang."
"Seventh Aunt."
"Have you finished class? Your third uncle and I are at your school. Which area is your dormitory in?" Gu Sang asked.
"East District." Gu Qingyue stood up and picked up the bag on the table. "I'll be down right away."
"Want to go out?" Shu Miaomiao asked.
"Yes, go have dinner with the family."
Gu Qingyue left the dormitory and waited for ten minutes before a black limousine drove up. Gu Sang, sitting in the passenger seat, waved at her, and the car slowly stopped in front of her.
Gu Sang leaned out of the car window and called her in.
Gu Qingyue opened the rear door of the car and leaned in.
Gu Hengsheng asked softly, "Don't you have classes in the afternoon for your major?"
He looked through the rearview mirror and his eyes fell on her face.
Gu Qingyue was stunned. She didn't expect him to know. She lowered her eyes. Gu Sang chuckled and came to the rescue in time: "Hey, Third Brother, it's nothing for Xiao Qingyue to skip class once."
Gu Sang mentioned that she rarely skipped class during her senior year, and it happened that the teacher called her name. She laughed and said, "Murphy's Law, it really is unavoidable."
"But it's okay. If you get punished later," Gu Sang glanced at Gu Hengsheng in the driver's seat and said jokingly, "Remember to ask your teacher Gu for mercy."
"You know that Third Brother is coming to S University, right?" Gu Sang asked again.
Gu Qingyue pursed her lips and nodded: "I know."
"It seems that Teacher Gu is quite popular. It's only been the first day since he took office, and all the students in the Chinese Department know about him."
Gu Hengsheng didn't say a word the whole time. Gu Qingyue felt a little weak and felt that she was a little strange today. Why did she skip class for no reason?
The car arrived at the restaurant and several people got off.
Gu's mother and Su Xi were already waiting in the lobby. After entering, there was another round of greetings. Afterwards, a waiter came and led the group to the private room upstairs.
Mother Gu asked, "Gu Sang, are you coming to Huai City for a performance this time?"
"Yes, there's one the day after tomorrow. If you're free, can you come and watch it with Su Xi?"
Gu's mother introduced Gu Sang to Su Xi, saying that he was a drama actor.
Gu Qingyue was bored. She supported her face with one hand and stretched out a finger to poke the plastic wrap wrapped around the tableware. The film sank slightly, and then with a crackling sound, the film was punctured.
Hearing the voice, Gu Hengsheng looked over.
Su Xi said, "I think Qingyue is hungry."
As soon as he finished speaking, the waiter pushed the door open and placed the dishes that had been ordered on the table one by one.
Gu Qingyue reached for the drink and heard her mother say, "Qingyue, don't drink."
Gu Qingyue felt wronged: "Mom, I just want to get some juice."
"Qingyue can drink?" Gu Sang was surprised.
"She's a little drunkard," Su Xi said, "but I'm also half responsible for it. I was the one who led her astray."
Gu Qingyue drank a bowl of shrimp and mushroom soup in silence the whole time. It was so delicious that she drank two more bowls.
The meal didn't end until eight o'clock.
Su Xi drove Gu's mother back, and Gu Hengsheng sent Gu Qingyue and Gu Sang back to the hotel.
This time, Gu Sang didn't sit in the passenger seat. Instead, she sat in the back seat with Gu Qingyue. She took out two tickets for a play from her bag and said, "When the time comes, you and Third Brother can come and watch it together."
Gu Qingyue took it and glanced at it. It was at the Grand Theater in Huai City, this Saturday.
The car passed by Gu Sang's hotel. Gu Sang got out of the car. Gu Qingyue was still holding the two tickets Gu Sang handed her. She cleared her throat and said something else: "Uncle San, are you a biology student?"
"Yes." Gu Hengsheng smiled.
Gu Qingyue uttered an "oh," then glanced down at the ticket in her hand and said in a roundabout way, "You probably don't have time to watch Qigu's performance, do you?"
Gu Hengsheng looked at the traffic ahead, paused for a moment, and said, "There should be time."
"Oh, then can I go with you?" Gu Qingyue said.
"Can."
Gu Qingyue thought about it, afraid that he would think she was being tactless, so she added sensibly, "It's not too much trouble, is it? If it is, I can take a taxi by myself. You can tell me directly. I'm not a child, I can understand."
She acted like I was understanding.
Gu Hengsheng glanced at her through the rearview mirror and said with a smile, "Then tell me what's the trouble?"
Gu Qingyue murmured softly, "Don't you want to bring your girlfriend to see it?"
"Where did you hear that I have a girlfriend?"
Gu Qingyue's heart skipped a beat. Her face was reflected on the car window. Perhaps because of the light, there was a hint of frustration between her eyebrows. She pulled the corners of her mouth and pretended to be relaxed: "Oh, my aunt must be very beautiful."
Gu Hengsheng was both amused and annoyed: "Qingyue, I'm still single."
Gu Qingyue uttered a soft "oh," with the ending tone rising slightly. The stone in her heart fell to the ground. She became curious again: "No one likes you? It shouldn't be like this?"
"Qingyue." He put on airs, his face a little serious, "This doesn't seem to be something you should be concerned about."
Gu Qingyue was not afraid of him. She raised her eyebrows and made a soft, very soft sound.
Gu Hengsheng smiled tolerantly.
