Gu Qingyue held a glass of water, her eyes fixed on her phone. She wondered if she should call Gu Hengsheng. After a moment's deliberation, she decided to send him a message.
Gu Qingyue: [Uncle San, can you tell me Miss Lin’s contact information?]
The meeting had just ended when Gu Hengsheng received Gu Qingyue's message. He glanced at his phone, then looked up at the driver in the driver's seat and said, "Don't go to the airport yet."
Gu Qingyue waited for a while, but didn't receive any message from Gu Hengsheng. She sighed dejectedly, hugged a pillow in her arms, and lay down on the sofa.
She held up the phone until the screen went dark, then lit up again after a moment.
Shu Miaomiao texted her, breaking the news: she and Tao Renran were getting engaged. Gu Qingyue, holding her phone, replied, congratulating her and asking, "Have you considered getting married so soon?"
Shu Miaomiao said: "Don't worry, I'm not impulsive. I've thought about it carefully. He's a good person. Marrying him should be the right choice."

Gu Hengsheng smiled and said gently, "Qingyue, I'm not a narcissist. I've only met her twice in total. We met once two years ago, and this is our second time. Apart from work contact, we have no other relationship."

Gu Hengsheng was cooking in the kitchen while Gu Qingyue went to the bathroom to wash up. After coming back last night, she fell on the sofa without even removing her makeup. Now she felt as if her face was covered with a mask, sticky and uncomfortable.
Gu Qingyue came out after washing her face. Gu Hengsheng took off his coat and fried two saury. Gu Qingyue said, "Shu Miaomiao is getting engaged."
Gu Hengsheng paused and said, "Isn't she the same age as you?"
"Yeah." Gu Qingyue glanced at him and said sincerely, "I think I should find someone to fall in love with, what do you think?"
Gu Hengsheng turned around, stared at her for a moment, and said, "Are you serious?"
"Yes, I want to live a different life." Gu Qingyue looked at him and said.
The living room fell silent for a moment. At this time, Gu Hengsheng's cell phone in his suit jacket pocket rang. Although the sound was faint due to the layer of cloth, it was extremely clear in this quiet space.
Gu Hengsheng walked around Gu Qingyue and took out his phone. Gu Qingyue couldn't guess who was on the other end of the line, and only heard him say calmly, "I know, I'll be back this afternoon."

After Gu Hengsheng finished making lunch for her, he received another unexpected call. He did not stay for dinner, so his assistant drove to pick him up to the airport.
Gu Qingyue stared at the four dishes and one soup on the table. They looked delicious, but she had completely lost her appetite. She quickly finished half a bowl of rice and began to clear the table.
After clearing the dishes, Gu Qingyue sat on the sofa and remembered that she hadn't apologized to Lin Xin yet. She turned on her phone and pondered for a moment, deciding to text her to apologize. If she called her, it would only add to the awkwardness between them.
From this point of view, Gu Qingyue felt that she was not a very sociable person. She would use text messages whenever possible and would only call people when absolutely necessary. However, this was an exception with Gu Hengsheng.

From that day on, Gu Qingyue intentionally reduced her contact with Gu Hengsheng until Gu Simin called her and said she would come to London to visit her in a few days.
Gu Qingyue asked, "Are you coming alone?"
"Uncle San is with me. He has some things to deal with in London." Gu Simin said.
Gu Qingyue played with the pillow, seemed to be thinking about something, and let out a soft "oh".
On Friday night, Gu Qingyue returned to her residence after class. She had just finished taking a shower when she heard the doorbell ring.

Gu Qingyue rested her face on the coffee table. Outside the window, lights shone through the buildings. She turned and looked at Song Xiaoshu: "Then rest here."
Song Xiaoshu looked at Gu Qingyue for a long time. He blew a breath gently on Gu Qingyue's face and said, "Why do I feel that you have bad intentions?"
