Don't get so angry

Don't get so angry

"It's not because of that." After a long silence, just when Xu Luoluo thought he wouldn't answer her, Su Ze suddenly spoke up.

She looked at him with a puzzled expression, wondering why.

"Xu Luoluo, do you like me? Or rather, have you ever liked anyone?" Su Ze smiled, but Xu Luoluo felt that he was even colder than before. At least his smile didn't make her feel like an invisible wall had suddenly been erected between them.

She replied somewhat hastily, "Of course, the person I like is you. You've really misunderstood me."

“I already said, it’s not because of that.” Su Ze calmly led her to the door, and before closing it, he suddenly smiled knowingly. “I was wrong. I didn’t expect you to have fooled yourself.”

Xu Luoluo stood blankly in front of the closed door, unable to believe his ruthlessness. The huge difference between yesterday and now left her somewhat confused, and his words kept replaying in her mind.

Have you ever liked anyone?

I didn't expect you to have fooled yourself.

How could she not have liked someone before? If she hadn't, how could she have become who she is now, and how could she feel this way about Su Ze?

But she couldn't tell him any of this, because she couldn't tell him the reason why; she wasn't ready to expose that wound to anyone.

She turned around and quietly walked to her front door, opened it, went inside, and gently closed the door behind her, as if afraid of disturbing someone.

"Where's Xiao Su?" Xu's mother looked behind Xu Luoluo, but after looking for a long time without seeing anyone, she asked in disappointment.

"Why would I want to see him? Isn't it enough that I went shopping with you?" Xu Luoluo yawned as she walked into the room and lay down on the bed. Her mind had been racing with all sorts of random thoughts all night, and she had barely managed to fall asleep when the alarm went off. Now she felt completely dizzy.

"Did you do what I asked you to do yesterday?" Aunt Xu asked as she smoothed out her wrinkled skirt, but her sharp eyes noticed a faint red mark on her shoulder. "Why is it red here?"

Xu Luoluo was startled and woke up instantly. She had only put on her dress this morning after seeing that the red marks had almost faded, but there were still some that had slipped through the net. She quickly sat up and awkwardly tugged at her collar, avoiding her mother's probing gaze, and mumbled, "I don't know, probably a mosquito bite. Oh well, never mind that, let's go eat breakfast."

Mr. and Mrs. Xu exchanged a knowing glance and didn't ask any further questions.

The hotel room rate included two breakfast vouchers, and the hotel's buffet was also famous, so Xu Luoluo bought a breakfast voucher and went to the restaurant with her parents.

"Did you apologize yesterday?" Xu's mother asked, still thinking about Su Ze even as she ate her sweet rice balls in fermented rice wine.

"It's gone." Xu Luoluo looked down and poked at the steaming hot xiaolongbao, wondering if she would be burned to death if she put it in her mouth now.

"What did he say?" Xu's mother asked.

"He didn't say much." Xu Luoluo couldn't wait any longer, picked up a bun and put it in her mouth, and sure enough, she burned her eyes and tears streamed down her face.

Seeing this, Xu's mother quickly got her a glass of ice water, scolding her while urging her to drink it, no longer caring about the previous problem.

Xu Luoluo drank a large glass of water, and the pain was finally relieved by the ice water. When she tried to pick up a steamed bun, it should have been perfectly hot, but her tongue was numb and she couldn't taste anything.

Sigh, when you're heartbroken, even eating a steamed bun feels like love.

Xu Luoluo was still deep in thought when her mother impatiently interrupted her: "If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine. I won't force you. Why torture yourself?"

"I didn't," Xu Luoluo said with a wry smile. "I just couldn't resist the craving."

"Alright, alright, whatever you say goes." Xu's mother was too lazy to argue with her and had made up her mind that she would have to take care of this matter herself.

"Of course it is," Xu Luoluo muttered, turning to stare at her father. "It's super delicious, isn't it, Dad?"

Mr. Xu had just popped a steamed bun dipped in vinegar into his mouth and nodded repeatedly, "It's not bad." He then picked one up for Mrs. Xu, saying, "Wife, you should try one too."

Mrs. Xu blushed when Mr. Xu called her "wife" and scolded, "You two only know how to eat." She then picked up a steamed bun and tasted it. After finishing it, she didn't say anything, but her hand holding the chopsticks was very honest, and she couldn't help but pick up another one.

Xu Luoluo secretly smiled at her father, thinking, "Your wife is quite proud."

For the rest of the day, Xu's mother seemed to have truly put the matter aside. The elderly couple followed Xu Luoluo around, and before they knew it, the sun was setting.

Xu Luoluo took her parents back to the hotel and gave them a spare key to her apartment, because she had to get up early to catch the train and wouldn't have time to personally pick them up and move them into her apartment.

"Just stay here for a week and wait for me to come back." Xu Luoluo took them to all the supermarkets, restaurants, and public transportation facilities near her home that afternoon, but she was still a little worried. So, she reluctantly sent a WeChat message to Su Ze, asking him to keep an eye on things. Su Ze quickly replied with "Okay" this time. He was conscientious and asked for her parents' phone number so they could contact him if anything happened. But otherwise, he didn't say a single extra word.

Xu Luoluo didn't have time to think too much. She gave Su Ze's number to her parents as well: "If you need anything, just call Su Ze. He lives across the hall from me."

Seeing the surprise mixed with joy on Xu Ma's face, I knew what she was up to, so I quickly added, "He's very busy too, so don't bother him if you don't have to."

"Alright, let's go. Is your mother that inconsiderate?" Xu's mother urged her to leave. She had noticed her daughter's dark circles under her eyes that morning, clearly indicating she hadn't slept well. She had been asking her about it out of concern. Knowing her daughter would have to get up early again tomorrow, she just wanted her to go home and rest.

Since Su Ze lives across the hall, things are much more convenient. After seeing Xu Luoluo off, Xu's mother turned around and closed the door before turning back to Xu's father with a happy smile, saying, "We really made the right choice coming here this time."

Not to mention that Xu's mother was full of energy, Xu Luoluo was really tired. She washed up quickly when she got home and fell asleep immediately, sleeping until the alarm rang.

There's an unread message on my phone from "Tangtang": Are you ready?

Tang Yizhuo is quite the character; he's always full of energy. Even though he spends his weekends surrounded by social engagements, he still gets up earlier than her. She rubbed her head and replied "Right away," then quickly got up to wash up. Luckily, she had packed her luggage in advance, otherwise he would definitely have complained about her again.

As Xu Luoluo went downstairs, a black sedan was parked downstairs. She glanced at it and saw Tang Yizhuo's handsome profile through the lowered car window. He turned his head and looked at her with a half-smile in his peach blossom eyes, very elegantly uttering two words: "Get in the car." The car window then slowly closed again.

Xu Luoluo stared blankly for a long time, realizing he showed no intention of moving. "Never mind," she thought, "I don't want to offend my boss," and silently walked around to the other side and got into the car.

Since that day, Tang Yizhuo has become much more distant from her, and almost every time they meet, he adopts a purely businesslike attitude. She is naturally happy about this, but she has somehow gotten used to Tang Yizhuo's teasing way of interacting with her. If Tang Yizhuo doesn't take the initiative to provoke her, she really doesn't know how to get along with him for a while.

Tang Yizhuo remained silent, and the Uber driver didn't seem to be a talkative person either, so the car fell into silence.

Just as Xu Luoluo was slowly getting used to the quiet atmosphere and was about to fall asleep, Tang Yizhuo suddenly turned his head to look at her. His gaze was too strange, and she woke up with a start. Meeting his hesitant gaze, she mouthed, "What?"

"It's nothing," Tang Yizhuo replied calmly, but he still looked at her with great distress, making her feel uneasy.

"Speak your mind." She tried to hold back, but in the end, she couldn't control her temper.

Tang Yizhu chuckled: "I thought you'd changed your ways, that you couldn't hold back so quickly?"

Seeing Xu Luoluo glaring at him, he put on a serious expression again: "I was just thinking, do you still remember what you said before?"

Xu Luoluo was taken aback, recalling their conversation in front of Jinfeng Gate a few days ago. She had completely forgotten about it if he hadn't mentioned it. However, Tang Yizhuo's repeated emphasis gave her the illusion that he had already dug a pit for her to fall into.

"Did I say anything?" Xu Luoluo looked innocent and decided to deny it.

Tang Yizhuo was a man of great character; he had witnessed the entire process of her expression shifting from understanding to suspicion, and then to her trying to renege on her debt. Surprisingly, however, he didn't seem to care. Instead, he looked at her earnestly, as if offering sincere advice: "You should still remember it; it'll be better for you."

He gazed at her quietly from his amber eyes, his eyes, which usually only emitted electric sparkles, now shining with sincerity. Xu Luoluo didn't even feel that he was threatening her.

Listen to these words. If this isn't a threat, then nothing is a threat.

Dealing with a thousand-year-old fox like this is bound to be a losing proposition. Realizing this, Xu Luoluo turned to look out the window, ignoring him.

Tang Yizhuo smiled and withdrew his gaze, but his brows furrowed slightly, as if he were thinking about something.

"Where are they?" When she arrived at the waiting hall, Xu Luoluo looked around but couldn't see Chen Shanshan and the others.

"Their bus is this afternoon." Tang Yizhuo casually found a seat and sat down.

Xu Luoluo dragged her suitcase and followed, sitting down to mutter to herself, "Then why don't we go together? We wouldn't have to get up so early."

"Do the decisions made by higher-ups need to be reported to you?" Tang Yizhuo raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, yes, you're a high-level executive, so you make the decisions." Xu Luoluo offered a perfunctory compliment, then remembered something, "Wait a minute, I still don't know about the schedule."

I've been so busy these past few days that I didn't even know I'd been kidnapped. If this continues, she'll end up paying the person who sold her to pay for it.

"What, are you afraid I'll sell you off?" Tang Yizhuo asked as if he could read his mind.

"Yes, after all, I'm stunningly beautiful." Seeing she couldn't get any information out of him, Xu Luoluo simply gave up. Unexpectedly, Tang Yizhuo actually turned his head and began to seriously study her face.

Xu Luoluo quickly reached out to block his burning gaze: "What are you looking at? You're not allowed to look, I'm afraid you won't be able to control yourself."

Tang Yizhuo pulled her hand away, clicking his tongue in amazement: "I'm looking at just how thick-skinned you really are."

"You're too kind." Xu Luoluo lowered her head shyly. "I'm just influenced by my surroundings. Compared to you, I'm nothing special."

Tang Yizhuo nodded, seemingly pleased: "You're right, the gap between people is huge. Keep working hard. Although hard work may not guarantee success, it can show you that some gaps cannot be bridged by effort alone."

How can this person be so shameless and smug? It's true that shamelessness knows no bounds. I really want to beat him to death.

"But upon closer inspection, it is indeed quite beautiful." Although Xu Luoluo deliberately turned her back to Tang Yizhuo, his voice still drifted softly into her ears.

Xu Luoluo's lips curled up unconsciously. She turned around and pretended to be serious, saying, "What did you say?"

"I say," Tang Yizhuo said with a smile, "your plot outline is indeed quite interesting."

"..." She should have been happy to be praised, but at this moment Xu Luoluo could only force out a few words through gritted teeth, "Then thank you so much for your good taste."

"You're welcome," Tang Yizhuo replied politely. "It's what I should do."

Xu Luoluo glared at her angrily.

“However, I sometimes do things I shouldn’t.” As he spoke, Tang Yizhuo placed something cold in her hand and earnestly advised, “It’s so hot, don’t get so angry.”
