The man appeared.
Xu Luoluo never dreamed that one day she would sit in a meeting with Su Ze, just as Tang Yizhuo never expected that a woman's heart could change so quickly.
Two people in the distance were chatting and laughing intimately. Tang Yizhuo gripped the steering wheel tightly with a blank expression, then turned the car around and sped off in the opposite direction.
Having learned from so many failures over the years, how could Xu Luoluo possibly let go of this opportunity to get closer to Su Ze again? Although they couldn't really be called very close yet, Su Ze had just arrived in S City, and she had taken advantage of her position to take on the task of finding him an apartment. Naturally, this earned her a lot of ambiguous looks, but she couldn't care less.
"Then I'll trouble you, Miss Xu." Su Ze expressed his gratitude in a very businesslike manner.
Politeness is the first step in maintaining social distance; indeed, men change their ways of refusing people as they mature. Thinking this, she forced a smile: "You're too kind."
If one path doesn't work, another will. People can always find a solution. Finding an apartment requires a phone number and WeChat; that's all you need for contact information, right? Before she could even speak after the meeting, Su Ze gently pushed a business card towards her: "Ms. Xu, you can send your information directly to my email."
Xu Luoluo tried hard to suppress the urge to frown as she took the business card, only to find that even the phone number listed was a landline.
That's really meticulous. Did he remember her "glorious deeds"? Xu Luoluo looked at Su Ze's departing figure with some suspicion, sighed, and thought, well, an email address and a landline are better than nothing.
Su Ze felt a chill run down his spine and shivered. A few memories flashed through his mind, and he frowned, shook his head, and then sent a message on his phone: "Find me an apartment near T Company as soon as possible."
Adhering to the principle that not sleeping in on weekends is a waste of life, Xu Luoluo always slept until noon. As soon as she opened her eyes, her stomach was growling with hunger. Before she was even fully awake, she reached for her phone to order takeout, but then she noticed Tang Yizhuo's missed call on the lock screen.
Without thinking, she dialed back: "Why did you, such a busy person, remember me?"
Tang Yizhuo on the other end of the phone wasn't surprised by her sleepy tone, and simply uttered lazily, "To Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing House?"
It was clearly a question, but it was spoken as a statement.
A new restaurant recently opened in Grand Gateway Plaza with high ratings, and Xu Luoluo immediately perked up when she heard those two words: "Want to go eat? I've been wanting to try XX's for ages."
"Then get up quickly and leave in five minutes." Tang Yizhu could already imagine the starry-eyed look on the other end of the phone, and a smile curled his lips.
"The big shot is treating me; it would be foolish not to take advantage of such a good deal." She readily agreed, hung up the phone, and rushed off to wash up.
Tang Yizhuo stared at the call log screen, his slender fingers slowly curling and gently tapping the table. Then he put the two documents on the table into the drawer, stood up, and left the study.
Surprises need to be kept well-hidden to maximize their effect, right?
Prioritizing speed, Xu Luoluo put on a white T-shirt and jeans, casually tied her hair in a ponytail, and headed out the door. The elevator reached the basement level, and she easily found Tang Yizhuo's silver-gray sports car, opened the door, and got in.
As soon as she got into the car, Tang Yizhuo started the car and drove out of the garage. Then he turned his head to look at her. He saw her flushed cheeks and a patch of sunscreen that was obviously not applied evenly near her ear. He knew that she hadn't even looked in the mirror before she came.
The thought of this woman going out with him so casually made Tang Yizhuo frown. Then, as if driven by something, he reached out and rubbed her earlobe, smoothing out the white powder.
Xu Luoluo was stunned for a moment before she reacted, covering her face and screaming, "What are you doing?"
Tang Yizhuo had already withdrawn his hand and was turning the steering wheel to reverse without expression: "You didn't apply your sunscreen evenly."
Xu Luoluo pulled open the sunshade and looked at herself in the small mirror behind her from left to right, but she couldn't find anything amiss. She could only snort angrily, "It better be true."
"Otherwise what?" Tang Yizhuo looked disgusted, not even bothering to glance at her, and unlocked his phone to hand it to her. "Let's order."
That's true, Tang Yizhuo didn't need to take advantage of her, after all, he had already refused her advances. This kind of man who could flit from flower to flower without ever getting attached, Xu Luoluo pursed her lips and took the phone, accidentally catching a glimpse of Tang Yizhuo's profile.
It has to be said that this face is indeed quite charming, with the corners of his lips slightly upturned even in a natural state, and especially his flirtatious eyes that seem to be alluring even when he is expressionless. I wonder how many innocent girls he has ruined.
Blinded by lust, Xu Luoluo resolved not to be seduced by beauty, so she lowered her head and carefully studied the menu, ordering all the dishes she had been eyeing: crispy salted pork knuckle, roast meat platter, crystal shrimp dumplings, oyster sauce lettuce, lobster noodles, and pork lard rice.
No one knows what tricks Tang Yizhuo did, but the restaurant, which usually has long queues, had someone lead them to a private room as soon as they arrived, and the table was already full of dishes that Xu Luoluo had ordered in the car.
"Impressive, impressive." Xu Luoluo gave Tang Yizhuo a thumbs up. "You've already taken over this newly opened shop?"
"Why are you saying such harsh things?" Despite his words, Tang Yizhuo still smiled with satisfaction. He was about to say something when he realized that Xu Luoluo's attention was already completely focused on the pig's trotters. He couldn't help but sigh, "Let's eat first."
She ate a little of this and a little of that, and everything was indeed delicious. Xu Luoluo felt extremely satisfied and only stopped eating when her belly was full.
At times like this, she feels like looking up at the sky and sighing: Why isn't my stomach a bottomless pit? Why can't I eat whatever I want and not gain weight?
"Are you full?" Tang Yizhuo slowly put down his chopsticks.
"Well, that's about enough. I really can't eat anymore." She stared at the plate with a hint of regret.
"You're already very strong." Tang Yizhuo looked at the nearly empty dishes and sincerely praised her, earning him a roll of his eyes in return.
This outburst of anger pulled her from her reluctance to part with the delicious food, reminding her of the important matter at hand. She couldn't help but roll her eyes and ask, "I remember you own an apartment in our neighborhood?"
"Yes, so what?" Tang Yizhuo didn't even look at her, and slowly picked up the cup.
“A colleague of mine wants to rent a place. Since your place is empty anyway, why don’t you rent it out?”
“That’s a good idea.” Tang Yizhuo looked at her and saw a light flash in her eyes. He then beckoned her closer with his finger.
Xu Luoluo quickly leaned closer, and Tang Yizhuo spoke, his warm breath washing over her fair earlobe: "But you're too late, it was already rented out yesterday."
Upon hearing this, Xu Luoluo cursed inwardly, thinking, "Who the hell is so bad at picking the right time?"
This road is blocked. I'm going to go back and harass the real estate agent like crazy tonight. I still have to look at apartments tomorrow. Life is so hard, chasing after a man is exhausting. She gulped down a mouthful of orange juice to calm her anger, seemingly oblivious to the ambiguous atmosphere at the moment.
Tang Yizhuo looked at the woman in front of him whose mind had wandered again and couldn't help but snort: "I heard you've been getting close to the new lead planner. You've changed your mind so quickly."
Xu Luoluo stared at him, speechless. "Does gossip spread this fast these days? Besides, didn't you say yourself that you're not interested in ambitious women like me?" She emphasized each word "ambitious" to highlight that it was his exact quote.
Besides, she was only infatuated with his looks back then. After finding out that he was such a playboy, who would still want to take on such a difficult role? Wouldn't that just make things harder for themselves later in life?
"Oh, what if I change my taste?" Tang Yizhuo said noncommittally.
"Please don't tease me." Xu Luoluo waved her hand, indicating that she couldn't handle it.
Tang Yizhuo raised an eyebrow: "Didn't you say that women need to be 'ruthless and heartless'? Don't you want to challenge yourself?"
"Huh?" Xu Luoluo was bewildered. "When did I tell you my life principles?" Then she waved her hand and said, "Never mind, I'm too old to keep up with all this. The mundane life of daily necessities suits me better."
It seemed she truly had a blackout that day, unable to recall even what she said or when. Tang Yizhuo understood, but offered no further explanation, changing the subject: "I heard you're preparing for an internal transfer?"
Xu Luoluo was startled again.
Su Ze, as the lead planner, was headhunted by the company, and a major project is definitely planned for the second half of the year. Naturally, she wants to seize this opportunity to enhance her resume; she can't stay in administration forever. Currently, her best chance of transitioning to a planning role is obvious. Of course, she also has her own ulterior motives; this is a great opportunity to get closer to Su Ze. What better way to cultivate a relationship than working side-by-side? As the saying goes, familiarity breeds fondness.
She had only asked Liu Jia from HR about this two days ago, so how did Tang Yizhuo find out so quickly? The gossip spreads way too fast. However, she quickly changed her mind and thought it might not be such a bad thing, so she winked at him and asked, "Are you going to help me?"
He blinked too: "Guess?"
There's hope! Xu Luoluo quickly filled his glass with soda water and handed it to him with both hands: "I'd like to hear the details."
What are your thoughts on "Mist Spirit"?
This was a landmark game for T Company; how could she not know it? Originally, T Company was just a niche game company, but one year a god-like producer created *Mist Spirit*, sparking unprecedented market buzz. T Company became an overnight sensation, and after several rounds of financing, it's now a behemoth in the game industry. However, that producer remained very low-key, not capitalizing on the momentum to release new works, but instead stepping back from the limelight. It's a real pity; otherwise, how glorious they would be now!
"I don't think there's anything to regret. It's all about making money, and being a partner is much easier." Tang Yizhuo's voice came through, and Xu Luoluo realized that she had accidentally spoken her true feelings. Then she covered her mouth in surprise: "No way, you, you, you are him?"
"Hmm." His eyes were deep as he spoke, and it was hard to tell what he was thinking. After a long pause, he raised an eyebrow at her and said, "Since you're transferring, why don't you come work for me?"
Xu Luoluo nodded vigorously. Tang Yizhuo was actually the behind-the-scenes producer of "Mist Spirit"! She absolutely had to latch onto this powerful figure. Although Tang Yizhuo was notoriously strict at work, there's a saying: "Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown."
So, on a happy weekend afternoon, she had to attend classes at Tang Yizhuo's house.
"Don't get distracted, these are all important points, they'll be on the test." Tang Yizhu tapped the contents of the whiteboard. "Don't embarrass me during the interview."
"Alright." Xu Luoluo knew that this concerned her future and Tang Yizhuo's reputation, so she couldn't afford to be careless and buried herself in taking notes.
It must be said that Tang Yizhuo's explanation was clear, concise, and well-organized, allowing her to quickly grasp the key points of the script planning work. Originally, she thought that with her experience as a screenwriter in her spare time, this position would be a piece of cake, but she found that if she didn't do her homework, she would be doomed without even knowing how.
She had to revise her resume. She threw down the black pen in her hand and started rummaging through drawers to find a pen of a different color to mark it, to distinguish it from the original.
"What are you looking for?" A large hand reached out and closed the drawer she was about to open. Xu Luoluo was startled and looked up to see Tang Yizhuo standing over, grabbing her hand as she tried to open the drawer again.
She smiled innocently at him: "Do you have a red pen?" She was wondering what she was keeping secret from everyone, and she had just caught a glimpse of what seemed to be a white folder in the drawer.
"The pen isn't there." Tang Yizhuo took out the key and locked the drawer with a forced smile, then took a pen from the side and put it in her hand. "Go ahead and revise it. Show it to me when you're done."
Then he sat down and started playing the game seriously.
