"Yingzi, Yingzi, save me, I can't swim."
The water in the ditch was not very deep, but Aunt Jiao could not swim. After falling into the water, she struggled desperately, and the more she struggled, the further she fell to the middle.
Chen Ying was already feeling depressed, and seeing Aunt Jiao being so fussy and lagging behind, she became very irritated. She stood on the shore and shouted, "Why are you backing away? Swim forward!"
"I can't swim. Yingzi, please save me."
Aunt Jiao was extremely panicked and instinctively afraid. She kept floundering in the water, her body sinking deeper and deeper into the water.
Seeing this, Chen Ying had no choice but to put down her luggage and jump into the river to save the man. If he didn't want to use her in the future, she really didn't want to go into the water to save this useless guy who could only talk nonsense.
As soon as she came over, Aunt Jiao grabbed her tightly as if she had seen a savior.
"Why are you holding me so tightly? Let me go." Chen Ying was so angry at her.
"Help, help!"
Aunt Jiao treated her as a life-saving straw and held her tightly. She was much fatter than Chen Ying, and when she struggled desperately, she pushed Chen Ying into the water.
Chen Ying could swim, but she was pulled and pressed so hard that she was forced to drink several gulps of water.
"Brother Jing, if these two people drowned in such a shallow ditch, it would really be the biggest joke of the year." Gong Linglong was hiding in the dark watching the fun and was gloating at this moment.
Lu Jingchuan raised the corner of his mouth and said with certainty, "Chen Ying is well-trained and has some skills. He won't drown so easily."
As he guessed, Chen Ying had practiced holding his breath underwater, and he managed to push Aunt Jiao away underwater. After his head emerged from the water, he angrily said, "What an idiot! You almost killed me."
Aunt Jiao had recovered and was pushed to the shore by her underwater partner, where she grabbed the willow tree roots on the shore with both hands.
The two of them got ashore in a wet and embarrassed state. Chen Ying was much stronger than Aunt Jiao, and was full of resentment. After getting ashore, he didn't wait for her and left with his luggage.
When Aunt Jiao saw that she had left her again, she actually felt a little regretful and wanted to go back to the Tian family, but she remembered that she was driven out by her stepson and the army had also issued an order, so she could not enter the gate of the family compound if she went back. She had no choice but to follow Chen Ying, cursing all the way.
Chen Ying had just reached the small market when a figure emerged from the darkness. Upon seeing her, he asked with a hint of reproach, "Why are you here so late?"
"Something delayed me."
The man who came to pick her up was a short man with an ordinary appearance, the kind that would be hard to find in a crowd.
He saw an old woman in her fifties or sixties following behind him, and looked dissatisfied: "What are you bringing such a burden with you?"
"She's still somewhat useful. I'll tell you later." Chen Ying whispered.
The man thought the old woman was useful, so he didn't blame her. He looked around carefully, and after making sure it was safe, he said, "Let's go, let's get out of here first."
Seeing Chen Ying walking with a man, Aunt Jiao hurried over and asked, "Yingzi, where are you going? Who is this man?"
"Why are you asking so many questions? If you don't want to follow me, just go back."
Chen Ying's patience had been completely exhausted. Add to that the fact that he was almost killed by Aunt Jiao just now, and his attitude towards her changed 180 degrees, becoming extremely bad and impatient.
"Yingzi, how can you talk to me like that? I am your elder, your parents don't..."
Before Aunt Jiao could finish her words, the muzzle of a hand-held gun was pointed at her. All the other words on the tip of her tongue retreated back into her stomach, and she looked at the man with the gun in front of her with panicked eyes.
"Shut up if you want to live." The man said in a sinister voice.
Aunt Jiao didn't dare to speak anymore, and her eyes changed when she looked at Chen Ying. Why would she associate with someone with a gun?
There is a small river port next to the small market. Sailboats often pass by and dock here. Many people from the nearby lake area come here by boat to purchase things. Although it is night, there are still several small boats parked on the river.
Lu Jingchuan and the others hid in the dark. Seeing the two of them follow the man to the river port, Gong Linglong hurriedly said, "Brother Jing, they are about to sail away. I'll go with them."
"Linglong, I have arranged a boat, just follow behind." Lu Jingchuan made arrangements.
"Brother Jing, there are many forks in the river nearby, and visibility is poor at night. The motorboat is too noisy, so if you follow too close, you'll be easily discovered."
Gong Linglong had already heard about the surrounding terrain and environment, so she took his arm and said, "Brother Jing, you follow behind. I'll get on their boat and leave a mark on the shore."
"Linglong, we won't be discovered, right?" Lu Jingchuan was worried about her.
Gong Linglong thought about it and took action to dispel his worries, activating the stealth function of the small artifact without leaving any trace.
"Linglong!"
A living person suddenly disappeared before his eyes, and even Lu Jingchuan, who had seen a lot of the world, was shocked.
Gong Linglong pressed the small magical tool again, and someone appeared from behind him, "Brother Jing."
"Linglong."
Lu Jingchuan turned around suddenly and grabbed her arms tightly with both hands.
"Brother Jing, now that you've seen my special abilities, don't worry about me. I'll be fine."
Seeing the three people ahead were walking a bit too fast, Gong Linglong spoke quickly, "Brother Jing, I'm going to catch up. Don't follow too closely. I'll throw scraps of paper in the river to guide you, hang a white cloth on the shore, and carve marks on the trees along the way. Just follow slowly."
After she finished speaking, she became invisible again and hurriedly followed.
After watching Chen Ying and his crew's boat sail away, Lu Jingchuan appeared on the boat, said a few words to his companions next to him, and then slowly started the boat to catch up.
The motorboat rumbled on the river. Chen Ying sat casually on the deck, eating the steamed buns given to her by the man, without even looking at Aunt Jiao.
