"Brother is too close..."
Shen Zhiyi turned her head slightly away.
Gu Lianzhou stopped moving, straightened up, and looked her over with an ambiguous gaze.
“Now, it’s your turn,” he suddenly said.
"What?"
Shen Zhiyi was puzzled and turned to look at him.
Gu Lianzhou released her hand, took off a dark gray tie, and handed it to her.
"Help me tie it."
"……I won't."
"I'll teach you."
He led her to the dressing mirror, placed the tie in her hand, lowered his head slightly, and loosely wrapped his arms around her from behind, holding her hands and guiding the tie through her fingertips through the shirt collar.
"First, cross over... then go around like this..."
Warm breaths brushed against my ear.
He held her hand, his palm burning hot.
Shen Zhiyi's whole body stiffened.
Following his movements, my fingers inadvertently touched his Adam's apple several times.
"Brother, it's so hard..."
She looked at him helplessly, but dared not meet his gaze.
Gu Lianzhou lowered his gaze, looking at the person who was almost in his arms. The bewildered look in his eyes and the clumsy movements didn't seem like a lie.
Her delicate earlobes were tinged with a light pink, and even the tip of her nose was glistening with sweat.
She probably rarely gets this close to men.
Gu Lianzhou felt inexplicably better.
"Don't be nervous," he said softly. "Take your time."
He moved even closer, showing great patience.
After an unknown amount of time, a standard Windsor knot was finally formed.
Gu Lianzhou did not immediately back away. Instead, he maintained this almost embracing posture and looked at her in the mirror.
"Have you learned it?" His voice was slightly hoarse.
Shen Zhiyi's heart pounded like a drum.
Lower your eyelashes.
"Um……"
Gu Lianzhou raised his eyebrows, straightened up, and released her.
“Then wear it like that.” He took a step back, regaining his composure. “Stay by my side tonight and don’t wander off.”
"Okay." Shen Zhiyi nodded gently.
As night fell, celebrities gathered.
Inside the banquet hall, glasses clinked and toasts were exchanged.
Shen Zhiyi followed quietly beside Gu Lianzhou, timidly looking around.
Shen Zhang saw them from afar, holding a wine glass, and walked through the crowd in a loud voice.
"Zhiyi, Lianzhou, you've finally arrived!"
"Everyone, please be quiet!" he said loudly. "Let me formally introduce you to my elder brother Shen Qing's long-lost biological daughter, Shen Zhiyi!"
"Our Shen family's rightful eldest daughter!"
"Quickly," he said, pulling Shen Zhiyi along, "Let's show ourselves to your uncles and elders. If we encounter any problems in business in the future, everyone can help us out, right?"
His smile was kind.
Out of the corner of her eye, however, she glanced at Gu Lianzhou, seemingly intentionally or unintentionally.
It carried a piercing sharpness.
Those present looked at each other, then suddenly burst into laughter.
"That's right."
"It seems that from now on, the true head of the Shen family will have to speak."
How could they not see that Gu Lianzhou had lost his right to speak, and that this young girl was still wet behind the ears and had no ability to make decisions for the Shen family?
It seems that from now on, Shen Zhang will most likely be in power.
Shen Zhiyi glanced nervously at Gu Lianzhou, took a deep breath, and raised her glass. "I...I'd like to propose a toast to all of you uncles and elders..."
The lips just touched the rim of the cup.
The cup was then gently pushed aside by a hand with distinct knuckles.
What kind of alcohol do children drink?
Gu Lianzhou said in a deep voice.
He took Shen Zhiyi's wine glass and raised it to everyone present, saying, "As her older brother, I'd like to offer this toast on behalf of my younger sister."
He tilted his head back and drank the wine in one gulp.
He put down his wine glass, looked at Shen Zhang with a sharp gaze, and smiled, "Second Uncle is right. Father is very pleased that Zhiyi has returned."
"He specifically instructed me to teach him with all my heart."
"With me, the older brother, here, Uncle doesn't need to worry about Zhiyi's affairs."
He used minimal force to achieve maximum effect.
The implication was that he was still the person Shen Qing trusted most.
Shen Zhiyi, on the other hand, knew nothing at all.
The Shen family still needs him.
Shen Zhang's face indeed turned sour.
Gu Lianzhou watched the changes in the attitudes of the people present with a sharp look in his eyes. Several of them had already passed by Shen Zhang and were toasting him.
