Bo Xu lowered his eyes and stared at her for a long while before stepping aside to let her in.
When Shen Zhiyi entered the room, she smelled a strong scent of air freshener.
The Way of the Heart.
As expected of the cleanliness-loving CEO Bo.
They even spray more air freshener than others.
She bent down to change her shoes.
Unaware that a section of her lower back was exposed, falling into the bloodshot gaze of the person behind her.
Bo Xu's breathing became sluggish.
He stared intently at that delicate, snowy expanse.
She was dressed differently today than she usually is in the office.
A short, off-the-shoulder white sweater, cinched at the waist, paired with retro high-waisted blue jeans, accentuates a perfect waist-to-hip ratio and long, straight legs.
Bo Xu's gaze tightened and focused as she moved, his mind wandering uncontrollably, drifting into his imagination of her over the past few days.
He hurriedly looked away.
The fire in my throat felt even more intense.
The heat on my forehead surged wildly downwards, burning all the way from my chest to my lower abdomen.
The hand gripping the doorknob slowly tightened, the knuckles turning white.
"Where is the kitchen?" Shen Zhiyi asked, straightening up after changing her shoes.
Bo Xu didn't look at her, but pointed towards the kitchen and walked towards the living room sofa in a somewhat flustered manner.
He swayed slightly.
"Mr. Bo, be careful." Shen Zhiyi reached out to help, but he pushed her away.
"Don't touch me." His voice was hoarse.
Shen Zhiyi stared blankly at his back, then turned and went to the kitchen without thinking much of it.
Bo Xu sat down on the sofa, lying down as if he had survived a disaster.
He rested his wrist on his forehead, his bangs falling down to cover his eyebrows and eyes, shrouding himself in complete shadow.
Then, he peeked through a crack in his eyelid and stared intently at Shen Zhiyi's busy figure in the kitchen.
He watched her pour water and prepare the medicine.
Those eyes, which were always calm and restrained, were now burning with a dark, crimson flame, thick and gloomy, covering her body.
He even had some difficulty distinguishing between reality and fantasy.
In just one night.
He had imagined her in countless ways, in countless different ways.
Is what's in front of him real, or just another of his fantasies?
Bo Xu could not confirm.
The only certainty is his own disgusting and despicable nature.
Shen Zhiyi brought over water and medicine and found that Bo Xu seemed to be asleep.
His breathing was heavy, and his face was even redder.
She was somewhat worried.
She placed the items on the coffee table beside her, took out the thermometer she had bought from her bag, squatted down beside him, and said softly, "Mr. Bo, let me take your temperature."
She opened the package and realized that she had bought an oral electronic thermometer.
She leaned closer and brought the thermometer to his lips.
"Mr. Bo, please open your mouth."
Bo Xu moved his wrist up, revealing a pair of eyes, his gaze fixed intently on her.
His gaze, almost tangible, swept across her cheek.
Shen Zhiyi's heart inexplicably raced.
In the instant his fingers trembled slightly, he opened his lips and put the thermometer in his mouth.
One second, two seconds, three seconds...
He continued to stare at her like that.
Shen Zhiyi seemed to be drawn in by his gaze, the air seemed to stand still, and she felt a surge of heat.
Bo Xu's gaze was fixed on her lips.
Thinking back to that day in the office, she also put his finger in her mouth, just like he did with the thermometer…
The air temperature rises.
Bo Xu's eyes suddenly darkened.
He closed his eyes restrainedly.
"Beep beep—"
Shen Zhiyi suddenly came to her senses, took off the thermometer, and glanced at the number.
So tall?
"You should drink your medicine quickly."
She was worried and ignored his earlier warning not to touch him, so she helped him sit up.
