Qi Yuran turned around in shock.
"What did you say?!"
She asked him to stay?!
Is that what he meant?
“Sister…” He moved closer to her, his eyes suddenly burning with passion.
Shen Zhiyi blushed and pulled him toward the glass greenhouse. "Come with me."
Qi Yuran was like an excited wolfhound.
He followed her closely, step by step.
Upon arriving at the greenhouse, Shen Zhiyi pressed the switch.
As Qi Yuran saw the scene before him, the burning passion in his eyes faded, gradually replaced by astonishment.
In the center of the greenhouse, which is full of flowers and green plants, there is a white tent.
The top frame is wrapped with small, warm-colored light bulbs.
Shen Zhiyi pressed a switch twice more, though she couldn't tell where it was.
The overhead light in the center of the greenhouse went out.
Instead, candle-shaped electric heaters are placed at varying heights on flowerpots and shelves among the flowers and greenery.
Looking from afar.
It really did look like a candle flame flickering.
“Sister…” Qi Yuran turned her head blankly, looking at Shen Zhiyi, her eyes shimmering.
"How about we 'camp' here tonight?" Shen Zhiyi smiled, took his hand, walked to the tent, and lifted the curtain.
"Shall we go in and take a look?"
Qi Yuran took off his shoes and bent down to crawl inside with her.
The small tent accommodated two people without feeling crowded; on the contrary, it felt quite cozy.
Shen Zhiyi drew the curtain, found a nightlight in the corner, placed it in front of the two, and then wrapped them in a blanket.
Qi Yuran curiously moved closer to her.
Shen Zhiyi conjured a switch from somewhere and dimmed the candlelight outside.
Then, from another corner, they pulled out a bunch of snacks and drinks and placed them on the small table in front of the two of them.
Qi Yuran smiled, a slight curl at the corner of his lips.
"Why is my sister like Doraemon? Let me see what else she can pull out of her pockets?"
He rushed over and hugged her.
Shen Zhiyi giggled and pushed him away, "Stop fooling around!"
She turned on the night light.
Suddenly, a layer of flowing nebula appeared above the tent.
Qi Yuran was stunned.
He stared blankly up at the twinkling stars overhead.
Shen Zhiyi wrapped the blanket tighter around herself, snuggled closer to him, and rested her head on his shoulder.
Is it pretty?
"This lamp cost me a lot of money."
"We won't need to go to the mountains to see the stars anymore; we can see them from home."
She patted the night light again.
Several shooting stars streaked across the clouds, just like real ones.
"Look, there's even a shooting star."
The gently moving nebula stirred up a warm current, tenderly covering Qi Yuran's heart, causing his eyes to well up with tears as he gazed at it.
He raised his hand to cover his eyes and smiled.
He turned his head and embraced Shen Zhiyi tightly.
Where did you buy it?
"It's quite authentic."
He closed his eyes, hiding the redness at the corners of his eyes.
Shen Zhiyi hummed proudly, as if showing off a treasure, "Can I tell you?"
"It also has sound effects."
"If you want to hear the chirping of insects and birds, I can open it for you."
"But right now, I want some peace and quiet."
She was afraid he was still afraid of those sounds, so she turned them all off for the time being.
Qi Yuran leaned against her neck, holding back his tears, letting the moisture flow into his heart and soak into his soul.
"Hmm... don't turn it on," he muttered.
"I want to hear my sister's voice."
"Want to hear my voice?" Shen Zhiyi chuckled and nodded. "Okay, I'll tell you a joke."
She started talking to herself.
One day, Peppa Pig came home and asked her mother, "Mommy, Mommy, why do my friends all say that my head looks like a hairdryer?"
“Peppa’s mom said, ‘Son, just talk to me, don’t blow on me.’”
"Hahaha..." Qi Yuran laughed so hard his chest vibrated. "What a terrible joke."
“There are even worse ones,” Shen Zhiyi began to ramble on.
One after another.
She deliberately chose to tell stories that were childlike or amusing.
It was simply to dispel the fear in his heart.
Qi Yuran listened quietly.
He leaned against her, lifted his eyelids, and looked out of the tent window at the view of the flower room and the starry sky above.
A feeling of being deeply loved, unlike anything he had ever experienced before, swept over his heart in an instant, making him feel dizzy with happiness, both dazed and sweet.
Fear no longer surrounded him.
Instead, it was a beautiful night sky, the rich fragrance of flowers, the warm glow of lights, and...
The best sister in the world.
Qi Yuran glanced to the side and saw the glint in Shen Zhiyi's eyes.
I described her expression with deep affection.
He thought.
Of all the stars in the sky, the brightest one had already landed beside him.
How lucky he is.
What merit or ability do they possess?
I can meet her and have her.
Qi Yuran was deeply moved.
Follow your heart.
Without asking her opinion for the first time, I cupped her face and gently kissed her lips.
"Thank you, sister."
He has no regrets.
The power she gave him, just from this memory alone, was enough to fight against countless dark and terrifying nights and nightmares that made him break out in a cold sweat.
He will always follow her and pursue her.
It was like chasing the only light in his heart.
Shen Zhiyi gently rubbed his face.
"You're thanking me for this?"
"There are many more things you'll need to thank me for in the future."
Qi Yuran chuckled softly.
"Does my sister mean... you won't leave?"
"Will you always be with me?"
Shen Zhiyi looked at him with surprise.
"He's actually quite clever when it matters."
She hugged his head and stroked his soft silver hair twice. "Who could bear to leave such a well-behaved puppy?"
"Don't be afraid," she whispered, leaning her head against his.
Qi Yuran closed his eyes.
Silently, I held her tightly in my arms.
They huddled together in the small tent, like two flames burning in the dark night, warmly basking in each other's warmth.
They nestled together like that.
I did nothing and spent the whole night doing nothing.
...
When I woke up the next day.
Shen Zhiyi twisted her waist.
"It's all your fault, you insisted I lean on you to sleep." Shen Zhiyi rubbed her aching lower back and patted his shoulder.
Qi Yuran carefully put away the fairy lamp like a precious treasure.
Then he rushed over and hugged her.
"It's because my sister refuses to lie down."
"Shall I give my sister a massage?"
"Ouch—be gentle..." Shen Zhiyi pushed his chest away, "Shouldn't we need to see a professional doctor for this?"
"Don't break it."
Qi Yuran patted his chest and said, "Sister, trust me."
“I learned from a professional bone-setting master when I was training for racing competitions.”
"The technique is professional; I guarantee I'll massage your back properly."
Seeing his confident demeanor, Shen Zhiyi had no choice but to believe him for the time being.
"Alright."
"Then let's give it a try."
Qi Yuran became excited in an instant.
"I carried my sister upstairs."
Shen Zhiyi was lifted up in his princess carry, leaning on his shoulder, thinking to herself.
Why does it feel like I've walked right into a trap...?
