At that time, Xie Huaiyang's brother, Xie Sili, invited her to dance to celebrate her graduation.
They danced a duet.
Xie Huaiyang was playing cards in a corner with his group of cronies, but he kept losing, probably because he was having bad luck.
He drank a lot of alcohol, and he looked at her as if she were his enemy.
She went to the restroom later.
On my way back, I passed by the greenhouse and heard noises coming from inside, so I decided to go in and take a look.
As soon as he entered, Xie Huaiyang pinned him against the wall.
He was completely drunk, but his strength was terrifying.
"Xie Huaiyang! Let me go!"
She smelled the scent of alcohol on him, intertwined with the fragrance of newly opened epiphyllum flowers, like a rich, sweet velvet, weaving a mesmerizing and decadent aroma.
She almost got drunk too.
"I won't let go." Xie Huaiyang pressed down on her wrist, his broad body looming over her, his eyes shining like sparks as he stared intently at her.
It made her feel hot all over.
“Shen Zhiyi…” He lowered his head, his hot breath spraying against her neck, his voice hoarse as he said, “Don’t always look at me like I’m trash… okay?”
His palms were burning hot, and so were his words.
For the first time, Shen Zhiyi had the illusion that she was about to melt.
"You're drunk."
She bit her lip and turned her head away.
"I'm not drunk." Xie Huaiyang pinched her chin, making her turn her head to look at him.
Why dance with other people?
Shen Zhiyi was stunned for a moment, and a blush inexplicably crept onto her cheeks.
“What other person?” She lowered her eyelashes and muttered softly, “That’s your brother.”
"My brother isn't allowed either!" He seemed angry, his tone a bit domineering.
Shen Zhiyi found him completely baffling.
"What business is it of yours who I dance with?"
"I don't bother with drunkards, let me go."
But he moved even closer.
His forehead almost touched hers.
He gritted his teeth and said in a low, hoarse voice, "Today, I'm going to teach you a lesson."
He pinched her chin, tilted his head, and kissed the corner of her lips.
Shen Zhiyi's eyes widened.
She shoved him away abruptly!
She stomped on his foot again before fleeing in panic.
She pulled herself out of her memories.
Her face suddenly turned red.
Is that called confessing your feelings?
For her, that was a declaration of war!
"On June 10th, I was drunk and told her."
Xie Huaiyang closed the diary and said confidently, "The diary ends here, which means the confession was successful and we are together."
Shen Zhiyi: ...
On the contrary.
After that, her parents were in a car accident, she lost her sight, and returned to Mucheng with her uncle. She didn't even go to university.
They never saw each other again.
Xie Huaiyang noticed the blush on her face and the fleeting loneliness. He turned his head, looked at her simple, empty home, and became even more certain of his thoughts.
No matter what, he couldn't leave her alone anymore.
The thought of taking care of her clung to his mind like a vine.
Xie Huaiyang leaned closer, his arm reaching over her side and bracing itself against the back of the sofa behind her, trapping her in a small space, unable to escape.
"In short, the baby can't just kick me out like this."
"Even if you didn't cause the injury to my head, it's still more or less related to you."
"You have to take responsibility for me."
"I will stay here and be with you until I recover from my injuries."
Shen Zhiyi felt the heat emanating from him and subconsciously leaned back, "I didn't even hold it against you for almost bumping into me."
She turned her head away.
"Besides, I'm blind, how can I take care of you?"
“You should go back home as soon as possible and let Mingjie find someone to take care of you.” She paused. “Or… go back to Beijing.”
"I'm not leaving." Xie Huaiyang's tone hardened as he gripped her wrist, saying shamelessly, "Then you can argue with me, okay?"
"Consider it compensation for almost hitting you. I'll take care of you."
"You're irresponsible. I'm not that kind of person."
Shen Zhiyi: "Xie Huaiyang, are you being reasonable? Why are you being so persistent?"
"You're my girlfriend..." Xie Huaiyang said, sounding aggrieved but completely convinced.
Shen Zhiyi felt like he was playing music to a cow.
She tried to pull her hand away, but before she could move it twice, Xie Huaiyang suddenly gasped.
"Ouch... my head hurts so much."
Shen Zhiyi froze, a hint of panic flashing in her blank eyes. "What's wrong? Did you touch your wound?"
Xie Huaiyang suddenly hugged her.
He pulled her into his broad chest, one hand supporting the back of her neck, the other gripping her waist, and whispered breathlessly, "You still say we're not a couple."
"She clearly cares about me so much."
Shen Zhiyi's ears turned red.
She remembered the doctor's words about not agitating him, closed her eyes, and said, "One month."
She compromised, saying, "I'll only let you stay for one month."
"Leave as soon as your injuries heal."
Once he regains his memory, he'll leave on his own even if she doesn't chase him away.
Xie Huaiyang became happy and hugged her even tighter. "Mmm."
He gently brushed his chin against the top of her head, letting out a satisfied murmur of triumph.
"I'll do whatever you say, baby."
Shen Zhiyi pushed his chest, "Let go of me first."
Xie Huaiyang loosened his grip.
She broke free from his embrace, her breath still a little unsteady. "You can stay, but you have to agree. You can't just hug me like you did before."
She took a deep breath, her ears still flushed, and said lightly and quickly, "I can't stand this."
