Shen Zhiyi lifted her wet eyelashes, saw the thugs rushing towards her, and closed her eyes.
Beyond the sound of rain.
The footsteps and sounds of movement became increasingly clear.
She sidestepped, raised her hand, and delivered a precise chop to the neck of the first thug who charged at her!
The man didn't utter a sound before collapsing to the ground limply.
The others were horrified.
"Attack together!" They looked at each other, cursed, and rushed forward.
Shen Zhiyi is like a nimble fish, darting through the rain.
I stepped barefoot into the puddles, splashing water everywhere.
Before the water droplets even hit the ground, one after another, burly men collapsed to the ground.
The view was blocked.
Their hearing and intuition are even more acute.
Shen Zhiyi raised her hand, precisely grasped the short stick that one of the people was swinging at, and then forcefully snatched it away, slamming it hard into the back of the person's knee!
Lin Youyin's parents were stunned by the scene!
Unexpectedly, this seemingly frail girl managed to knock down so many fierce and burly men without even opening her eyes!
Several others were knocked unconscious by her over-the-shoulder throw!
They retreated in fear.
After dealing with all the thugs, Shen Zhiyi opened her eyes and glanced at them.
"Go! Go quickly!" Lin Youyin's parents took a step back in unison, abandoning their suitcases and running away without looking back.
The rain is still falling.
People were lying haphazardly on the street, groaning.
Shen Zhiyi picked up the umbrella, casually tapped her watch, and smiled sweetly: "I'll give you thirty seconds. If you don't run away, I'm going to get serious."
What? !
They've been beaten like this, and you still say it's serious?!
The thugs exchanged horrified glances, ignoring their pain, and with their last ounce of strength, they scrambled to their feet and fled the scene with lightning speed!
They can't earn this money anymore!
This is no innocent girl, she's a female demon!
Shen Zhiyi dragged her suitcase into the alley and stopped in front of a pile of miscellaneous items.
"Everyone's gone," she said calmly.
Lin Youyin huddled behind a box, trembling with fear at the noise outside. She only peeked out when she heard Shen Zhiyi's voice.
She saw her suitcase and stared in surprise, "You..."
"Thank you for the umbrella." Shen Zhiyi bent down and handed the umbrella handle to her, a slight smile playing on her lips. "However, you should keep it for yourself."
She stopped smiling and said seriously, "Remember, if you want to start a new life, don't look back."
"Keep walking, the rain will stop."
Lin Youyin stared at her blankly, and then asked a question as if possessed.
"And what about you?"
Shen Zhiyi didn't answer, but just looked at her quietly with a smile on her lips.
Rainwater slid down her face, wetting her body, but she seemed oblivious, emanating a strange, calm power.
Firm and composed.
He is a completely different person from her.
Lin Youyin was inexplicably moved, and stopped trying to find her answer, instead giving Shen Zhiyi a deep look.
"Thank you," she said softly.
The faint sounds were drowned out by the rain.
Lin Youyin got up, pulled her suitcase, opened her umbrella, and walked briskly towards the alley entrance.
She had only walked a short distance when a black Koenigsegg drifted, tearing through the rain, and stopped in front of her.
The car door opened abruptly, and a tall, imposing figure stepped out.
He was soaking wet, his bloodshot eyes scanning the street, his face filled with anxiety and rage.
It was Gu Lianzhou.
Lin Youyin was so frightened that her blood seemed to freeze at that moment.
But their steps were nailed to the spot by overwhelming fear.
The umbrella fell to the ground with a "thud".
She saw Gu Lianzhou's gaze freeze, his dark eyes slightly brightening, as he rushed towards her with a terrifying aura.
Fragments of her past life, along with the falling rain, soaked her through.
Lin Youyin closed her eyes in despair.
The expected arrest did not take place.
Gu Lianzhou didn't even glance at her, walking straight past her and rushing towards the alley.
"Xiao Yi!"
A familiar voice brushed past my ear, but it was calling someone else's name.
Lin Youyin suddenly opened her eyes and turned around in astonishment.
Gu Lianzhou's back view was still as sharp and imposing as he remembered.
She watched him run toward the barefoot girl from before.
Lin Youyin walked past him and met Shen Zhiyi's gaze.
The calmness in her eyes strangely affected her.
Lin Youyin recalled what she had just said.
"Keep walking, the rain will stop."
She wiped away her tears, suppressing all the fear and unease in her heart, as well as a faint, indescribable envy and bitterness. She bent down to pick up the umbrella on the ground, dragged her suitcase, and got into the taxi that had rushed over without looking back.
"To the airport!"
Shen Zhiyi watched the taxi drive away and Gu Lianzhou rush towards her, as if the two sides of the storyline were being torn apart.
She closed her eyes, tilted her head back, and let the rain soak her entire face.
Some people held umbrellas to avoid the rain, disliking the dampness.
Some people find peace in the sound of rain.
She stayed here not because she needed anyone's protection, nor because she needed anyone to hold an umbrella for her, but simply because... she liked the rainy season.
She opened her arms, swayed, and fell backward.
Just as she expected, a strong arm caught her around the waist, gently pulling her into a broad, warm embrace.
She raised her eyelashes and saw Gu Lianzhou's tense and worried face hovering above her.
Like a humid, rainy season that never seems to end.
A smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
He silently said in his heart—
Gu Lianzhou.
I'm so glad... I could be in the rain with you.
