Lu Yanzhuo jumped out of bed almost immediately.
He rushed next door and rang the doorbell.
A long time passed and no one answered.
Lu Yanzhuo frowned deeply, about to burst through the door, when Shen Zhiyi opened the door from the inside.
Are you alright?
He stared at her, scanning from the top of her head down to her ankles, and only after confirming that she had no external injuries did he quietly breathe a sigh of relief.
"How did you know my power was out?" Shen Zhiyi's hair was slightly disheveled as she wiped her forehead. "Did your power go out too?"
"Hmm." Lu Yan's eyes flickered. "My circuit breaker tripped just now too."
He glanced into the house.
"Would you mind if I went in and took a look?"
Shen Zhiyi quickly stepped aside to make way for him.
"You even brought your tools?" She stared in surprise at the box in his hand.
Lu Yanzhuo merged into the darkness.
He concealed the unnatural expression on his face.
He coughed lightly, "I just got home, I haven't had time to put it down yet."
"Oh, oh."
Shen Zhiyi saw him turn on the flashlight and naturally took it from him. "It must be a problem with the circuit in the study. I'll take you there."
She led him to the door of the study.
Just about to go in.
Lu Yanzhuo stopped her, "It's dangerous inside, wait for me outside."
He took the flashlight from her hand.
It brushed very lightly against her fingertips, and her whole body stiffened for a moment.
Even my breathing became heavy.
No symptoms developed...
She touched him, but he didn't have a seizure...
Lu Yanzhuo's chest resounded.
"Okay." Shen Zhiyi stopped and stood at the door. "Then I won't go in and cause you any trouble."
Lu Yanzhuo adjusted his breathing.
Suppressing her frantic heartbeat, she turned and went into the study.
Not long after, he came out again and went to the main switch in the hallway.
Then he came back and said, "It's caused by an overloaded circuit. Did you use any new appliances?"
Shen Zhiyi was somewhat annoyed, "It must be the lighting equipment I just bought."
The room was pitch black, making her sighs all the more noticeable.
"It's okay, the power will be back on in a bit."
He offered words of comfort in a low voice, a rare tenderness appearing on his sharp face.
"Then... I'll head back now?"
Shen Zhiyi grabbed the hem of his clothes.
"Can you stay here with me?" she asked softly. "You can leave when the power comes back on, okay?"
