Ding Dong.
Before she could even tiptoe, the doorbell rang.
The two of them looked towards the door at the same time.
Shi Wu was a little puzzled. She didn't know anyone here, so why would someone ring the doorbell?
The doorbell rang three times and then quickly stopped.
Immediately afterwards, Fu Wenye's phone vibrated.
He lowered his head, took out his cell phone and checked it. It was a message from the surveillance camera on the door.
Someone was lingering outside his door.
"Is anyone there? Is there anyone there?"
The woman looked to be in her forties, with a sallow complexion and a thin body, and she looked like she was sick.
Soon she moved to another house and rang the doorbells of every household.
"Is anyone home? Can you help me..."
Fu Wenye’s mobile phone surveillance clearly heard a woman’s voice.
Shi Wu pursed his lips and said nothing.
When the end of the world comes, there will still be many people who need help.
She wanted to give the decision-making power to Fu Wenye.
See if he wants to save people.
"Do you want to go out and take a look?" Shi Wu looked at Fu Wenye.
Throw the question to him.
"I'll call security."
Fu Wenye said this and immediately took out his cell phone to call the security room.
"Hello, I'm the owner of 1202. There's a woman on the 12th floor ringing doorbells. Could you please come up and see what's going on?"
After hanging up the phone, Fu Wenye looked at Shi Wu with a serious expression.
"Don't open the door to people you don't know. This is something we learned in kindergarten. Have you forgotten?"
As he said this, he reached out and gently poked Shi Wu's forehead.
"Oh." Shi Wu muttered, pouting his lips slightly.
Although Fu Wenye said this, his eyes were always fixed on the surveillance video on his mobile phone to see the woman's situation.
About ten minutes later, two security guards came up.
The two men came to the woman and asked.
Shi Wu also pricked up his ears and listened to the voice coming from Fu Wenye's phone, and figured out what had happened.
Her husband fainted at home. They called an ambulance but it didn't come for a long time. They also called the police, but they were also busy and couldn't send anyone over.
She had no other choice but to ask her neighbors for help, to see if anyone had a car to help take her to the hospital.
Soon the security guard followed her home to check on her husband.
A few minutes later, a burst of crying filled the entire corridor.
At this time, the neighbors all came out.
Fu Wenye and Shi Wu also came outside to check the situation.
The woman was crying so hard that she was about to die.
The security guard who came out of her house explained the situation to everyone.
"Her husband is dead."
"He probably died last night. When we went in just now, his body had already turned black."
Neighbor A, who lives next door to the woman, whispered, "These two often quarrel. They quarreled again last night and even threw things..."
Neighbor B: "Do you think he died in a fight?"
Neighbor C: "Her husband loves to drink, often beats her, and doesn't let her go to work."
Neighbor A: "She's so short, how could she be a match for her husband? Maybe her husband died suddenly from drinking too much."
Neighbor B looked at the security guard and asked, "Have you called the police?"
The security guard nodded. "I've reported it, but... the operator said there are a lot of cases right now, so it's not certain when they can come and handle it."
"There's only one officer on duty in the police station now. The other officers have gone out and haven't returned yet."
Several neighbors immediately started chattering about it.
We talked about the death of the neighbor’s husband, the strange weather, and then the weird relatives.
Shi Wu and Fu Wenye, who were enjoying the meal on the side, were about to continue listening when the topic suddenly shifted to the two of them.
Neighbor B: "Are you two newlyweds?"
Shi Wu and Fu Wenye looked at each other.
"We actually..."
"yes."
Shi Wu and Fu Wenye both spoke at the same time.
"It's a bit cold, let's go back first."
Fu Wenye said this and took Shi Wu's hand and returned home.
Close the door.
But his hand did not loosen.
"Are we... still eating?" Shi Wu asked in a low voice, lowering his head to look at Fu Wenye's hand.
"Well, have some more drink." Fu Wenye let go of his hand and walked towards the dining table.
He poured himself another full glass of wine, tilted his head back and drank it down in one gulp.
Then he turned around, looked at Shi Wu seriously and asked, "Aren't you afraid?"
Shi Wu nodded, then shook his head.
Explanation: "I didn't see it, but that's okay."
"That's right." Fu Wenye's eyes were a little empty, as if he was thinking about something.
Shi Wu pulled out a chair and sat down, looking at him curiously.
"What's wrong?"
Fu Wenye gently turned the glass in his hand with his fingers, frowned slightly, and then quickly relaxed.
"Actually, I've thought about it before: if I were to die suddenly at home, what would the people who found me do?"
He raised his head, his expression relieved as he said, "It should be about the same as before. The neighbors just chatted for a while, and they should forget about it after a while."
Shi Wu looked at him with a slightly shocked look.
"You even thought of this."
Fu Wenye nodded: "When I'm bored, I think about things that are far away."
He has been living alone for several years, and his thoughts are becoming increasingly vague.
I am not afraid of death at all.
But these two days his desire to survive has been a bit strong.
After Shi Wu appeared, he seemed to have a little sense of life again.
Listening to his words, Shi Wu suddenly felt a little distressed.
