Chapter 381 Wenxi's Nightmare 2
Wang Mo's question was like a sharp knife, piercing straight into Wen Qian's heart and even spinning around, causing Wen Qian unbearable pain.
Seeing that Wenxi did not answer, Wang Mo moved closer to her.
Wang Mo: "Wenqian, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Wenxi: "I, I'm fine..."
Wang Mo: "It's good that you're alright. Oh, by the way, my mom made me lunch and asked me to bring it over. Shall we have lunch together?"
Wang Mo: "My mom said that delicious food should be shared with classmates!"
As she spoke, Wang Mo raised her hand with a happy expression, showing Wen Qian the lunchbox she had carefully packed. Upon seeing this, Wen Qian's eyes immediately welled up with tears, and she turned her head away.
Wenxi: "No, I prefer to be alone. Thank you for your kindness."
After saying that, Wenxi walked into the school without looking back. The day passed quickly, and school was over in a flash. Watching the other students being picked up by their parents one by one, Wenxi was a little lost in thought.
Suddenly, someone tapped her on the shoulder. Wen Qian turned her head and saw Wang Mo.
Wang Mo: "Wenqian! Haven't your parents arrived yet?"
Wenxi: "Not yet..."
Wang Mo: "Maybe something's holding them up? My mom hasn't arrived yet either. Shall we play together for a while and wait for them?"
Wenqian didn't want to play with Wang Mo because she kept talking about her parents, which made Wenqian feel inexplicably disgusted. Wenqian was also shocked to realize this. How could she suddenly hate someone for no reason?
The inexplicable dislike made Wenxi feel a little scared.
Wenxi: "Wang, Wang Mo, is that your mother?"
Upon hearing Wen Qian's words, Wang Mo looked up and instantly beamed with joy.
Wang Mo: "Mom! I'm here!"
Then Wang Mo looked over with a smile.
Wang Mo: "Wenqian, my mom's here to pick me up! I'm leaving now!"
As soon as she said that, Wang Mo skipped and hopped to her mother's side, hugged her mother's arm affectionately, and slowly walked away.
Watching Wang Mo and her mother's retreating figures, Wen Qian stared blankly into space. She had once acted like that with her parents before; back then, her parents had a very good relationship, standing on either side of her, holding her hand as they walked home.
Passing by a cake shop, her parents bought her the strawberry cake she had been longing for. The strawberry cake was very sweet and fragrant, and a feeling of happiness filled her heart. She said, "I love my parents the most."
Her parents smiled and told her that they loved Qianqian the most. Then, her father picked up little Qianqian and put her on his shoulders. The three of them happily left the cake shop.
While she was lost in thought, a sudden downpour began. The raindrops were blown sideways by the wind and some landed on Wenxi's clothes. A chill spread through her, and Wenxi couldn't help but shiver.
Thunder roared, and parents came one after another to pick up their children, but none of them came to pick her up. In the end, it was only because the security guard at the gate couldn't bear to see her like this that she was able to get home safely.
Upon entering, the living room was completely silent; no one was there. This was exactly what Wenxi had expected. Ever since they changed, they had never come home to spend the night.
They seemed to have forgotten that they had a child at home who needed their care.
Wenxi is only six years old. She is so small that she can only reach the stove by standing on a stool. However, even if she can reach it, it is useless because Wenxi is too weak to lift the pot.
Unable to eat, Wenxi had no choice but to shrink back into the blankets, close her eyes, listen to the rain outside the window, and force herself to fall asleep. Once asleep, she wouldn't be hungry anymore.
