Chapter 112 The Real Music

The school bell rang, and students, like birds returning to their nests, slung their backpacks over their shoulders and walked out of the school gates, laughing and joking. Gao Taiming mingled in the crowd, his nonchalant appearance standing out. As he walked, he muttered to himself, "It's still early. Going home is so boring. I need to find some fun to kill this long time." As he spoke, his darting eyes began to look around. Just then, his gaze fell on Chen Sisi, who was waiting for the bus at the school gate. A sly smile crept onto his lips, as if he had thought of a brilliant idea.

Chen Sisi kept glancing at her watch when her family's luxurious car pulled up right in front of her. She reached out to open the door, but a hand blocked her way. Chen Sisi frowned and looked in the direction of the hand; it was Gao Taiming. He said with a grin, "Oh, Miss, where are you going? Why aren't you with your friends?"

"Hmph, why should I tell you? Don't bother me." Chen Sisi said arrogantly. She couldn't stand Gao Taiming's street-smart demeanor. After saying that, she turned her head away and refused to look at him. At the same time, she tried to pull open the car door that Gao Taiming was blocking, but Gao Taiming was very strong, and the car door wouldn't budge. Chen Sisi was both angry and anxious. She had no choice but to turn around and glare at Gao Taiming, saying, "Hey, Gao Taiming, let go! I'm going to be late for my piano lesson."

Upon hearing this, Gao Taiming's eyes lit up immediately, and he said with delight, "So Miss can play the piano! What a coincidence, our band is just short of a keyboardist. How about it, Miss, would you like to give it a try?"

"No interest. I study classical music, which is completely different from your kind of pop music." Chen Sisi replied coldly, her eyes showing impatience as she watched time tick by.

Gao Taiming shrugged nonchalantly: "Oh, why are you so nervous? I was just trying to help you open the car door, that's all." With that, he let go of his hand.

Seeing that the car door could finally be opened, Chen Sisi ignored Gao Taiming and hurriedly got into the car, reaching out to close the door. Unexpectedly, Gao Taiming was faster; in the instant Chen Sisi closed the door, he darted into the car and slammed it shut with a loud bang. This sudden turn of events shocked and enraged Chen Sisi. Her eyes widened, and she shouted, "Gao Taiming, what are you doing getting in? Are you crazy?"

Gao Taiming completely ignored Chen Sisi's questioning. Like a general issuing orders, he instructed the driver, "I'm her classmate. Driver, drive, don't dawdle." His tone was arrogant and confident, just like a spoiled rich young master.

Upon hearing the order, the driver started the car without hesitation and drove towards the classroom. Seeing this, Chen Sisi was extremely anxious and shouted to the driver, "Don't drive! Stop the car!" Hearing the young lady's anxious voice, the driver quickly stopped the car. But before Chen Sisi could even breathe a sigh of relief, Gao Taiming shouted again, "Drive!" The driver had no choice but to start the car again. Immediately afterward, Chen Sisi ordered the car to stop again, and Gao Taiming again shouted to drive. And so it went, the car driving and stopping intermittently, swaying along the road like a drunkard, attracting the attention of passing students who curiously watched.

"Hey, what's wrong with that car? It's acting like it's having a seizure." A student wearing glasses craned his neck, trying hard to see what was going on inside the car.

"Hey, look, it looks like Chen Sisi's car. What happened? Did something happen?" another girl with a ponytail asked, looking puzzled.

"Oh dear, is this the first time Miss has ever argued with a friend? She's usually so gentle and mild-mannered, I never expected her to be so fiery." The driver, exasperated by the two of them, rubbed his forehead and couldn't help but tease them.

"He's not my friend! Hey, get out of the car right now!" Chen Sisi roared, trembling with rage, like an enraged little lion. Her eyes were filled with anger and disgust; she wished she could throw Gao Taiming out of the car immediately.

"Who said that? We both have Ye Luoli fairies, aren't we friends? Hurry up and call out your doll!" Gao Taiming deliberately raised his voice, a mischievous smile on his face, and said loudly. He wanted to tease Chen Sisi on purpose, and he found it particularly amusing to see her get angry.

"What fairy? Doll? What strange things are you talking about?" Hearing these intriguing words, the driver's curiosity was piqued, and he couldn't help but ask. Chen Sisi panicked upon hearing this; she didn't want the driver to know the secret of the Ye Luoli fairies, and hurriedly said, "Alright, alright, driver, let's drive! We're going to be late, we'll be late if we don't leave now." Hearing this, the driver restarted the car and sped towards their destination.

Chen Sisi turned around, looking at Gao Taiming with a mixture of anger and confusion, and said loudly, "Don't you have anything to do? How come you're so idle, like an unemployed bum? What kind of student are you? Can't you do something productive?"

Gao Taiming seemed not to hear Chen Sisi's scolding. He turned his gaze to the window, watching the scenery rushing past, and replied casually, "It's nothing. I'm different from you ordinary students. I'm like an exchange student, only staying here for a year to learn some Chinese before going back to America. I don't have to take those boring exams, nor do I have to bury myself in studying all day like you guys. Making friends doesn't mean anything to me anyway, since we'll all be separated after a year and go back to our own lives. Right now, I'm so bored I'm practically rotting away. I don't know how to kill this long time."
