All that met my eyes was a deathly silence, so quiet that I could almost hear my own heartbeat.
Wenxi was filled with doubt, wondering where everyone had gone, when a familiar yet chilling voice, like an icy wind, pierced her ears: "Wenxi." The voice was like a demon's whisper, sending a shiver down her spine and making the hairs on her body stand on end. She swallowed hard and slowly raised her head in the direction of the voice.
Queen Mandora stood high above her, like a queen in the darkness, coldly looking at her with eyes that seemed to regard her as a worthless ant, making Wenxi feel as if she were in an ice cellar.
"Queen... I was petrified, wasn't I? How... how could I recover?" Wenxi's voice trembled slightly, like a candle flickering in the wind. Her eyes were filled with terror, and her body trembled involuntarily.
"Wenqian, what were you looking for? Were you looking for those Ye Luoli warriors? Stop looking, they've all happily gone home now."
They've completely forgotten about you. You've given so much for them, but what about them? They're like a group of heartless passersby, they didn't care about you at all, and they never even thought about coming to save you and Qingyin.
Wenxi, look at yourself now, all alone, like an orphan abandoned by the world. And look at Wang Mo and the others, how happy and joyful they are! They're laughing and joking, enjoying their victory. And what about you? Don't you feel pathetic? You've been completely used by them. Don't you regret it?
Mandora's voice was like a cold wind, each word like a sharp needle piercing Wenxi's heart, making her already wounded heart even more unbearable. As she spoke, Mandora gently waved her magic wand in front of the mirror, and immediately a scene appeared in the mirror: Wang Mo and the others chatting and laughing, happily returning home. That image was like salt rubbed into Wenxi's wounds.
Wenxi looked at the familiar yet unfamiliar smiling faces in the mirror. Those smiles were so glaring in her eyes, like the sun burning her eyes. Then she looked at her own lonely and helpless figure...
She felt like the loneliest person in the world. The image of Qingyin, whom she had abandoned, involuntarily surfaced in her mind. Her beautiful figure had once again become a cold stone statue, her eyes filled with despair and resentment, and she certainly wouldn't forgive herself.
Wenxi's eyes gradually dimmed, like stars that had lost their light. She already knew the answer, but still clung to a sliver of hope. Wenxi asked, "Your Majesty, what is your purpose in restoring me? I don't believe you did this out of kindness. You...you must have some kind of conspiracy."
“Come here, take a few steps forward.” Mandora’s tone was unquestionable, like an unshakeable iceberg, exuding an aura of authority that commanded without resistance. Wenxi bit her lip, a hint of hesitation flashing in her eyes. Her heart was in turmoil, like two little people fighting.
One voice told her not to go, that it was a trap; another voice said that this might be her only chance to find K-On. In the end, her longing for K-On prevailed, and she obediently walked forward slowly.
Mandora nodded in satisfaction, her eyes like those of someone looking at prey that had fallen into a trap, and said again, "Wenxi, I want you to submit to me once more."
"Didn't you want K-On back? You should remember what I said before, right? In this cruel world, only strength matters. Only by becoming strong can you have everything you want, including K-On, whom you cherish so much."
Wenxi's body trembled slightly, like a leaf shivering in a storm. She first glanced at Qingyin, who had turned to stone beside her.
The cold stone statue seemed like the greatest mockery of her; Qingyin's eyes seemed to speak of endless sorrow and despair, piercing Wenxi's heart. Then, she looked at the scene in the huge mirror ahead, where Wang Mo and the others were happily returning home together.
The image pierced her eyes deeply, like a flame burning within her heart. Her gaze hardened, a resolute determination born of unwavering resolve. She slowly knelt before Mandora, the movement deliberate yet powerful.
It was as if she were declaring war on fate: "I want Qingyin back in my life. I'm fed up with begging for affection like before. I don't want to be that weak and helpless Wenqian anymore."
I want to become strong. I want to control my emotions, no longer be swayed by them, and no longer beg for pity. "My Queen, please restore Qingyin to normal!"
"Hahaha, Wenxi, you're being far too naive!" Mandora laughed loudly, her laughter echoing in the empty space, filled with mockery and disdain.
"How could I so easily let go of someone who betrayed me? Who do you think you are? Do you think you still have the right to negotiate with me? Unless you still have any use to me, don't even dream about it."
"Use value? What can I do now?" Wenxi raised her head, a hint of doubt flashing in her eyes, like a lost child.
"I want you to return to the human world and, like a ghost, lurk among the Ye Luoli warriors, secretly monitoring their every move. If necessary, you must find a way to sow discord between them and the Light Fairy."
Did you know? The master of the Light Fairy suffered a heart attack while trying to save Shu Yan and fell into a coma. His condition is extremely critical, like someone teetering on the edge of a cliff.
