Like a withered leaf swept away by a raging storm and carelessly tossed aside, Wenxi was pathetically thrown back to her own doorstep by the Queen. Dragging her heavy steps, each one seemingly carrying endless weariness, she slowly pushed open the familiar yet dreaded door to her home. The moment she opened it, a thunderous argument crashed down upon her like a tidal wave, assaulting her already fragile eardrums.
"Look at you! You've come back drunk again, reeking of alcohol, like a lump of mud! Did you know our daughter didn't go to school? All you do is fool around outside. Do you even have the behavior of a father?!"
Wenxi's mother was like an enraged lioness, her eyes bloodshot as she roared angrily at the pot-bellied, greasy-faced middle-aged man.
The man, swaying his bloated body, his face flushed and intoxicated, retorted defiantly, "Hmph, you have the nerve to talk back to me? What makes you any better? When have you ever truly cared about your daughter? You haven't even gone to see her, have you? Stop pretending to be a good guy. If you can't make it work, just leave. Stop nagging!"
"Fine, I'll leave then! I've had enough of this life. Being with someone like you is a nightmare!" Wenxi's mother trembled with anger, tears welling up in her eyes, but she stubbornly refused to let them fall. Her voice became sharp and shrill with rage.
Looking at this familiar scene, Wenxi felt a pang of bitterness in her heart. She quietly kicked off her shoes, put on her socks, and tiptoed into the house, trying to break the tense atmosphere with her weak voice: "Mom, I'm home. Have you eaten?"
However, her voice was instantly drowned out by her parents' heated argument, like a stone sinking into the sea. The couple, engrossed in their anger, didn't even notice her presence and continued their endless quarrel.
Wenxi shook her head helplessly, her stomach rumbling. She skillfully took out her phone, quickly opened the food delivery app, ordered a hamburger, fried chicken, a cola, and chicken wings. After telling the delivery driver her usual address, she hung up and went into her room.
She slammed the door shut, shutting out the annoying argument. She collapsed onto the bed like a rag doll, staring blankly at the ceiling, contemplating how to face Wang Mo and the others at school the next day, and how to avoid letting them notice her strange behavior.
During recess in the classroom, Qi Na sat quietly in her seat, her brows furrowed, as if pondering some major problem. Her gaze would sometimes fall on the playground outside the window, and sometimes on the book in front of her, her mind constantly planning how to place the prop on Wang Mo without her noticing.
This was a tricky problem. Qi Na knew that if she acted too proactively, Wang Mo and the others would suspect her of having ulterior motives. She didn't want to ruin the relationship she had worked so hard to build, since it would be profitable for Xin Ling's side, but she also had to complete the task.
After much thought, Qi Na still couldn't come up with a perfect plan, so she could only sigh helplessly and put the matter aside for the time being. She had originally planned to go to Fairyland with Fei Ling after school to complete an important mission, but fate always seemed to like playing tricks on people.
The moment Qi Na stepped out of the school gate, she saw Wang Mo and her group standing under the shade of a tree, like a group of hunters waiting for their prey, quietly guarding the spot. Wang Mo's eyes lit up when she saw Qi Na, and she happily strode over to her, a sweet smile spreading across her face.
Jianpeng and Shuyan stood aside without approaching. Chen Sisi was absent because of her piano lesson. Qi Na looked at Wang Mo and her heart skipped a beat. She knew her chance had come. Without showing any emotion, she contacted the system in her mind and said in a voice only she could hear, "System, get ready. Find an opportunity to implant the item into Wang Mo's body." Then, trying to make her expression appear natural, she asked, feigning ignorance, "Wang Mo, what brings you to our school?"
"Qina, I heard from Sisi that you and Feiling have both regained your magic! That's wonderful! We came here to ask for your help with Shuyan. Jianpeng told me you can also use time magic."
"Do you think you can use time magic to lift Shu Yan's time punishment? You know, he became like this to help you. This is also the shopkeeper's wish, she hopes you can help him." Wang Mo's voice was clear and pleasant, but Qi Na detected a hint of threatening intent in it.
Qi Na felt a surge of anger. She really wanted to give Wang Mo a good scolding and tell her not to talk to her like that. But she held back. She knew this wasn't the time to act impulsively, and she couldn't ruin her relationship with Xin Ling's side because of a momentary impulse.
She took a deep breath, trying to make her voice sound calm and gentle: "Wang Mo, the time magic I used is actually very basic. I can only try to help, but I can't guarantee that I can lift the time penalty. Let's go to the doll shop. It's not safe to use magic here. It would be bad if something went wrong."
Wang Mo tilted her head, blinked her big eyes, thought for a moment, and agreed with Qi Na's reasoning. She nodded, "Alright, let's go to the doll shop then." With that, the group used magic and instantly teleported to the doll shop. Qi Na and the others greeted Xin Ling, briefly explained the situation, and asked Xin Ling to protect them. Xin Ling smiled and nodded, indicating she would safeguard them.
Qi Na and Shu Yan stood facing each other. Qi Na closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and then formed a contract with Fei Ling. A dazzling light flashed, and Qi Na completed her transformation. Then, she took out the "Time" Clow Card, chanted incantations, and began to cast time magic.
