Qi Na: "System, system, don't fall asleep! I know you're here. Tell me, how bad is the feud between Chen Sisi and Lan Kongque? Can you broadcast it to me in real time? Also, how long will the 'substitute' card last?"
The system was engrossed in watching TV in its system space when it was called upon by its unscrupulous host, to whom it was bound. The system replied impatiently:
The "substitute" card expires in 12 hours. Chen Sisi and Blue Peacock's discord has reached about 65%. Also, what is playing in your mind in real time? Why don't you want to go to the moon? Why don't you hurry up and find a way to go to the fairyland to collect fairy power? Are you too idle to be so gossipy? Don't you have to go to school? Hurry up and go to school, I'm going into hibernation.
After hearing the system's string of impatient words in her mind, Qi Na was momentarily speechless, unsure how to respond. She opened her mouth, but found her throat felt blocked, unable to utter a single word. In the end, she could only helplessly remain silent, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
Just then, Fei Ling also got up. She used magic to fly in front of Qi Na. Fei Ling's eyes revealed a hint of hesitation and struggle, as if she wanted to say something but didn't know how to start.
Qi Na noticed Fei Ling's unusual behavior as she sat up in bed. She raised her head slightly, looked at Fei Ling, and asked softly, "Fei Ling, what's wrong? Is there something you want to tell me?"
Fei Ling hesitated for a moment before slowly speaking, "Master, these past two days you've been paying too much attention to Fairy Xinling and the Ye Luoli warriors she's recognized. And I feel like you have some kind of premonition, as if you know in advance which fairies and which people are signing contracts. You say you're watching a show, but it feels like you're completing some kind of mission." After Fei Ling finished speaking, she stared intently at Qi Na, hoping to get an answer.
Upon hearing Fei Ling's words, Qi Na was initially extremely shocked. For a moment, her eyes were filled with panic, as if the most hidden corner of her heart had been suddenly exposed to the sunlight. But quickly, she forced herself to calm down, pretending to think, trying to hide the turmoil in her heart.
In her mind, Qi Na anxiously asked the system, "System, can I tell Fei Ling about the system and completing the mission?" However, the system's reply was cold and resolute: "No! If you tell, you will be immediately eliminated!" These words hit Qi Na's heart like a heavy hammer, enveloping her in a great deal of fear. At the same time, Qi Na finally realized that she had fallen into the system's trap, and that everything the system had said before was unreliable.
Qi Na tried to calm herself down, quickly organizing what she wanted to say to Fei Ling in her mind. She took a deep breath, trying to make her voice sound calm and firm: "Fei Ling, I'm sorry I can't tell you the answer. I can only tell you that I'm doing this just to avoid being bullied and to change my predetermined fate. I hope you can understand. Hurry up and wash up, you have to go to school soon."
Fei Ling looked at Qi Na with a look of confusion and bewilderment in her eyes, but seeing Qi Na's resolute attitude, she stopped asking and went to wash up silently.
Qi Na turned and went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for herself, Fei Ling, and her grandmother. Because her grandmother was old and not in good health, Qi Na would sometimes get up early to make breakfast. After all, she was an adult in her previous life, and simple cooking and stir-frying were fine as long as the taste was average and edible. But today, her mind was not on what she was doing at all. Her mind kept replaying the threatening words of the system.
After breakfast was prepared, Qi Na ate mechanically, finding it tasteless. After packing her lunch, Qi Na and Fei Ling left for school together. Along the way, Qi Na seemed absent-minded, much like her usual demeanor; one wouldn't notice her poor mood unless they looked closely.
When she arrived at school, Qi Na sat in the classroom, not paying attention to a single word the teacher was saying. Her gaze wandered, her thoughts drifting. The cheerful laughter of her classmates seemed like distant background noise to her; she was immersed in her own world, contemplating the system, the mission, and the various unknowns that might lie ahead.
Finally, school was over, and Qi Na breathed a sigh of relief. The day had felt incredibly long. After packing her bag, Qi Na prepared to go home with Fei Ling.
Just then, a glowing pink petal floated gently to Fei Ling's side. The petal shimmered with an eerie light, as if conveying some urgent and important message.
Qi Na and Fei Ling exchanged a glance, both feeling a strange tension rising within them.
"It seems Fairy Xinling has something to discuss with us," Qi Na said.
"I wonder what important matter it is. Could it be that our secret sabotage of the Ye Luoli warriors' contract fairies has been discovered?" Fei Ling frowned.
"That's unlikely. The cards I used can effectively conceal our magical aura. She was probably just testing us to see if we were responsible. So, if Fairy Xinling asks you, just answer that you don't know or are unsure."
After listening, Fei Ling nodded seriously and replied, "Okay, Master, let's hurry up and leave, we're running out of time."
The two dared not delay and immediately headed towards the doll shop.
Throughout the journey, Qi Na grew increasingly anxious. She didn't know why Fairy Xinling had summoned them. Was it related to the system or the mission? Or had a new crisis arisen?
When they finally arrived at the doll shop, they found the door tightly closed, but a bright, sparkling light emanated from outside, as if afraid no one would notice.
Qi Na gently pushed open the door and saw Fairy Xinling standing in the center of the shop with a solemn expression.
"Fairy Xinling, what brings you here?" Qi Na asked cautiously, still pretending to stutter.
Fairy Xinling nodded slightly, her eyes revealing a light that Qi Na couldn't understand, making one break out in a cold sweat: "Qi Na, Fei Ling, what have you been doing these past few days? Have you been to the doll shop?"
Qi Na's heart tightened: "Shopkeeper, what are we doing at the doll shop? We've been traveling these past few days."
Fairy Xinling slowly said, "Recently, I've sensed a mysterious force secretly watching the Ye Luoli warriors, while also undermining their contracts and relationships. Some have already been caught off guard and fallen under the spell. Qi Na, I need you to secretly go to Elite Elementary School from time to time to protect them."
After hearing Xinling's words, Qi Na was very angry and immediately retorted to Xinling without any politeness, saying, "Fairy Xinling, didn't you say that Fei Ling is the sixth fairy? So you don't need to hide and not be discovered by Mandora?"
"Besides, Feiling doesn't have her own unique spells. Can you teach Feiling those? We're not even able to protect ourselves right now, and it's so late, and you've made us come to the doll shop. I still need to study. Sorry, I'm going home now." After saying that, Qi Na prepared to leave.
Xin Ling was speechless for a moment after being rebuked by Qi Na...
