Angel's Gift, Covenant in the Light

Angel's Gift, Covenant in the Light

As dusk settled over the windowsill, it tinged the open notebook of Wen Lianyao with yellow. Her pen still hovered in mid-air when a soft, warm light suddenly streamed in from outside, like melting gold leaf, gently enveloping her. The light was neither scorching nor burning, carrying a faint fragrance, like that of morning lilies, dispelling the last trace of chill in the room.

Wen Lianyao subconsciously closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, a blurry light and shadow floated before her. Standing in the light and shadow was a figure with pure white wings, its outline as gentle as mist, its lips slightly parted, uttering a string of soft, unfamiliar syllables. Those words were neither human language nor the tone of the Ye Luoli Fairy Realm, yet they strangely seeped into her heart, outlining a clear thought—"I entrust my child to you."

"Who...who are you?" Wen Lianyao's voice trembled slightly. She tried to reach out and touch the light and shadow, but her fingertips only passed through a warm halo.

The angel's figure swayed gently, its wings fluttering as dust of light fell. The delicate syllables rang out again, the words still incomprehensible, yet Wen Lianyao clearly received the unspoken message: This child carries the power of light; he will protect you, and he will protect those you wish to protect. As the words faded, the light abruptly converged, transforming into a stream of light that landed in Wen Lianyao's palm.

After the light faded, a palm-sized doll lay in the palm of the hand. The doll wore a white gauze dress adorned with silver threads, had a pair of tiny wings tucked behind it, its eyes were closed, and its long eyelashes resembled two small fans, as quiet as a star fallen to earth.

Wen Lianyao's heart was pounding. She carefully cradled the doll, her fingertips gently brushing against its soft wings. Just then, the doll's eyelashes fluttered, and it slowly opened its eyes—eyes as clear as amber, reflecting the sunset outside the window and Wen Lianyao's surprised face.

Meanwhile, far away in the Ye Luoli Fairy Realm, Wen Zike suddenly sneezed. Clover's green eyes lit up: "Coco, it seems like something good is happening to Second Sister." Little Coco tilted her head, hugged Clover, and rubbed against her: "Is Big Sister coming back? Or does Second Sister have a baby too?"

In the shadows of the trees in the fairyland, Prince Minsk's gaze pierced through the barriers of space, landing on the girl in the human world who held the angel doll. A hint of surprise flashed in his icy blue eyes, followed by a cold smile.

"An orphan of the angel race?" he murmured, his fingertips tracing the sapphire in his sleeve. "Unexpectedly, this tangled mess has yielded another interesting bargaining chip."

As the warm light completely dissipated, a faint golden line appeared on Wen Lianyao's palm, echoing the silver light on the doll's wings. She hadn't yet grasped the meaning of this sudden gift; she only knew that the doll in her arms, carrying the blessing of an angel, had become the most incredible bond in her life.
