Chapter 114 Memory

Chapter 114 Memory

The library on the top floor of Hoffman Hospital.

“Dangdang——”

In the quiet large study, the knock on the door was particularly noticeable.

Jiang Luan, who was looking for a medical book, heard a knock on the door and poked his head out from behind the bookshelves.

"Enter."

Lu Qian gently opened the study door and walked into the room in small steps.

"Jiang Luan, the book you gave me the day before yesterday is too difficult. I can't understand it. Maybe you need to explain it to me."

In recent days, Lu Qian would come to Jiang Luan every few days to ask questions. At first, Jiang Luan was a little restrained and refused to explain things to her face to face, but now the relationship between the two has become much more natural.

Jiang Luan got down from the footstool of the bookshelf, took off his glasses, pinched the bridge of his nose, and walked over to Lu Qian. "Show me your notes."

"Here," Lu Qian handed over the book and notes, "They're all here."

Jiang Luan took the notebook, took out a red ballpoint pen from his coat pocket, pressed it lightly while thinking, frowned and smacked his lips.

"Tsk, this formula is wrong."

Jiang Luan talked to himself, walked to the table with the notebook, and began to draw on it with a red pen.

"There are problems with the editing of this book, but the medical community has not acknowledged this error over the years, so the book has not been revised. If you want to produce a finished product with the highest efficacy, this reaction temperature is the best,"

Jiang Luan picked up the pen and drew a big cross on the book.

"If it's too high, the drug's effectiveness will decline."

"Also, there's something wrong with this ratio. This was the ratio used ten years ago when the technology was not as good as before, and it's no longer applicable now."

As Jiang Luan spoke, he tore off the page with the error in the book, took out a new piece of draft paper, and wrote and drew on it.

"Wait for me to change it for you."

Lu Qian looked at Jiang Luan's smooth movements with a very unnatural expression. Is Jiang Luan so awesome that he can deny authoritative books with his own brain?

As Jiang Luan was making changes, he looked up through his glasses at Lu Qian who was still standing there in a daze.

"What's that expression on your face?"

Lu Qian hurriedly came back to his senses, retracted his jaw-dropping expression, and quickly raised his hand to wave, "Ah... No, I just think... You are so amazing, you know all the mistakes in the book."

Jiang Luan lazily pushed his glasses up and said calmly, "Because I wrote this book when I was fifteen."

“……?”

"Ah...hahaha, great, awesome."

Lu Qian forced a smile on her face with embarrassment. Jiang Luan...wrote the book when he was fifteen, but now even if she just showed it to him, she wouldn't understand it.

Is this the world of genius?

Jiang Luan handed the newly written page, along with the book and notes, back to Lu Qian.

He scratched his messy hair, pulled off the hairband and tied it into a bun again, then raised his hand to gather the waste draft papers and scattered books piled on the table.

"Just watch here. If you don't understand, keep asking me."

Jiang Luan pointed to a row of large bookshelves nearby and said, "You can look up any of these books. The indexing system is at the door. I don't need to teach you how to use it, right?"

Lu Qian nodded rapidly, quickly pulled over a stool and sat down properly.

"I will, I will."

Lu Qian wrote and drew on the notebook with a pen, and time passed by as he wrote.

Jiang Luan finally stood up from his chair, straightened out the pile of draft papers that was about to bury him, and stretched lazily.

The setting sun streamed in through a large floor-to-ceiling window in the library, and the warm golden light filled the huge library so completely that there was not a single blind spot.

Jiang Luan squinted his eyes due to the dazzle of the sunlight. He raised his hand to block the sunlight and through his fingers he saw Lu Qian sitting opposite him.

Lu Qian felt that her long hair was disturbing her reading, so she braided her hair into a pigtail, which hung softly beside her ear, looking peaceful and quiet.

The girl was fiddling with a quill among a pile of books, her expression sometimes annoyed, sometimes enlightened.

The sunlight hit her, as if she was coated with a layer of light.

Lu Qian's black hair, which was tied into a braid, suddenly turned golden in Jiang Luan's eyes, and her black pearl-like eyes turned emerald blue.

The girl and the picture in front of him suddenly overlapped with the memories that he had buried for a long time.

At that moment, Jiang Luan was stunned.

He just stared blankly, and his eyelashes began to tremble uncontrollably under the cover of his black-framed glasses.

I was watching it intently.

The blonde girl who was studying hard seemed to notice someone was peeking at her. She raised her head suddenly and pointed at the boy in front of her who had not yet looked away, as if catching a thief.

"Aha! I found you!"

Her emerald blue eyes were narrowed so that they were almost invisible. She just pointed at the boy in front of her and smiled brightly and flamboyantly.

"Jiang Luan? Jiang Luan!"

An urgent cry exploded in Jiang Luan's ears. He quickly came to his senses and shook his head excitedly.

"Ah...what?"

Lu Qian withdrew the hand that was waving in front of Jiang Luan, "You were stunned. I called you and you didn't answer."

Jiang Luan looked at Lu Qian in front of him, lowered his head, and gently pushed his glasses, "Oh... I have a habit of daydreaming."

Jiang Luan stood up, took off his coat, and walked past Lu Qian.

"That's all for today. I'm going to the lab for a while."

"……oh."

Lu Qian felt that Jiang Luan was a little weird, but she didn't ask too much because she still had to cook for Qu Le and Cheng Yi later.

This pair of brother and sister are both big eaters. She has almost become the one who cooks for the big pot recently.

Suddenly, a "click" sound was heard.

A small round metal box fell out from the pocket of Jiang Luan's coat.

The small box happened to roll to Lu Qian's feet. She bent down to pick it up and took a look at it in her hand.

The box was very small, only about three centimeters in diameter. It was so old that it was full of pits and the paint on it could not see its original color, leaving only the dark yellow metal itself.

The surface is so smooth that it reflects light, as if it has been caressed day and night.

"This is……"

"Don't move!"

Jiang Luan's urgent cry came from behind, and he snatched the small box from Lu Qian's hand before it even warmed up.

Jiang Luan grasped the box in his hand in a panic, looking extremely nervous.

Lu Qian was slightly stunned.

She had never seen Jiang Luan so anxious before, even that night when Sui Tang discussed the blood experiment with him. Although he was angry, all his actions were methodical.

This was the first time Lu Qian saw Jiang Luan so anxious.

Jiang Luan also realized his own gaffe, and quickly put the box away, lowered his head and turned away.

"Nothing...nothing...it's nothing important. Go do your thing. I'm leaving."

"Oh... okay."

Lu Qian looked at Jiang Luan's back as he hurried away, lost in thought.
