Chapter 238: Inspiration

Chapter 238: Inspiration

"Ah! I'm sleepy..."

When Lu Qian heard this small wail, he opened his eyes in a trance and turned around to look.

Qu Le was leaning back on the prayer bench, looking as if he was about to faint.

“…” Lu Qian was speechless for a while.

"I told you you were sleepy, but you didn't believe me."

Qu Le has a talent for spoiling people's fun.

She has no literary or artistic talent and has little patience. It would be strange if she could stay here honestly.

Bai Yao caressed Qu Le's hair lovingly and gave Lu Qian a helpless smile, "You go shopping, I'll stay here with her and sleep for a while."

Lu Qian relaxed his brows, crossed his arms over his chest and walked to Qu Le. He reached out and poked her on the forehead, "Be careful not to snore. It's embarrassing."

Lu Qian slowly walked through the classic Gothic-style corridor, but was attracted by a Baroque-style stained glass window.

Under the stained glass window is a statue with its skin peeled off. The muscles and veins are carved in great detail. He stands there, motionless, with a determined look in his eyes.

She couldn't quite understand what was behind it, but she was still shocked.

Lu Qian stopped here, letting his thoughts drift away.

"Are you interested? I can introduce you."

Suddenly, a soft and elegant voice came into my ears.

Lu Qian turned her head and saw the blond and blue-eyed man in front of her. A confused expression filled her face for a moment.

The other party's surprise seemed to be no less than Lu Qian's.

"Miss Lu? Why is it you?" An unbelievable smile appeared on Louis' face.

When Lu Qian saw the aristocratic man in front of her again, she did not feel any disgust in her heart. Instead, she felt that it was too coincidental, so coincidental that she felt a little happy.

She and Louis couldn't be considered old friends meeting in a foreign land, but it was at least a reunion.

"I also want to ask, why is it you?"

Louis’ smile became a little more relaxed, “I thought Miss Lu had forgotten me.”

Lu Qian turned around and faced the noble man in front of him, "Aren't you in Germany? Why are you here?"

Lewis still had that standard gentleman smile, “I said I came here for Miss Lu, is this answer okay?”

Lu Qian couldn't help but laugh out loud and shook his head, "How dare you talk to me like that? Weren't you humiliated enough at the dinner last time?"

Louis smiled calmly, "I'm just used to complimenting beautiful ladies. If you're not happy in front of me, that would be a gentleman's dereliction of duty."

Lu Qian looked him up and down and had to admit that he was indeed quite good at pleasing women.

Louis stood next to Lu Qian and looked up at the sculpture in front of him.

"It's called 'The Flayed Bartholomew,' and it depicts Saint Bartholomew's martyrdom. The 'clothes' hanging from his body are actually his flayed skin. Every wisp of his flesh and blood was born for Christ, and his life was also lost for Christ."

Louis' eyes sparkled with admiration.

In this already sacred place of prayer, he stood upright, his perfect physique formed by the constraints of aristocracy more clearly visible.

Lu Qian looked at Louis in surprise, "You know a lot about this?"

"I forgot to tell Miss Lu," Louis nodded gracefully, retracted the solemn light in his eyes, and continued to look at Lu Qian with a smile, "I am actually a volunteer tour guide at Milan Cathedral."

Lu Qian was surprised. "But aren't you a doctor? And a German doctor at that."

Louis frowned. "Who told you I'm a German doctor? My college is in Italy. Dean Charité and my dean are close friends. I just go there occasionally to help out. Haven't you noticed that I don't speak much German?"

Lu Qian thought about it and it seemed to be true. When they met that day, Louis only spoke English and some broken Chinese.

"And can't doctors like art?" He turned his head and looked at the stained glass windows in front of him. "Milan Cathedral is the building I've always dreamed of. When my research is finished, I come here to volunteer."

Louis closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I really enjoy this peaceful feeling."

These words touched Lu Qian's heart, and she also enjoyed this feeling of peace.

"The power of religion really cannot be underestimated."

Louis heard Lu Qian's sigh and echoed: "What a coincidence, I think so too."

"Where's the man who was with you last time? Isn't he with you?"

Lu Qian smiled and shook her head, "He's been on a business trip these days."

Lewis raised his hand and smoothed his hair back, his tone filled with joy: "Ms. Lu, I am really happy."

"Happy? What do you mean?"

"Don't you notice that our communication is very natural and harmonious now?" Louis turned to Lu Qian and spread his hands. "Last time, you were ignoring me."

Lu Qian retorted without giving in: "But you weren't as gentlemanly to me last time as you are today."

Louis's behavior last time could be described as harassment.

"Hahahaha, sorry, sorry," Louis scratched the back of his head, looking embarrassed, "because you are really beautiful, and I lost my sense of proportion. Sorry for laughing."

Lu Qian raised an eyebrow, a complicated expression on his face. "Are all you foreigners so bold? How dare you casually boast about something so corny?"

Louis smiled gentlemanly, put his hands on his chest and saluted slightly.

"It's just something I feel."

Lu Qian turned around and continued walking along the church corridor, leaving Louis with his back.

"When you go out, don't say such things to other people's women, or you'll get beaten up."

Louis heard that there was no displeasure in Lu Qian's voice, patted his clothes, and followed with elegant steps.

"But Miss Lu is happy now, isn't she? Then I am worth it."

Lu Qian tilted her head and glanced at him, "How can you tell that I'm unhappy?"

Louis pointed to his nose and said, "I smelled it."

"Can you smell it?"

"When people are sad, they emit a special smell. Coincidentally," Louis nodded again, "I have a very sensitive nose."

Regardless of whether what Louis said was true or false, Lu Qian was really amused this time.

"Hehe... Hehe, you're really good at talking, but be careful or your girlfriend will get jealous."

Lewis’s eyebrows instantly curled into eight characters, and he said with regret: “Thank you Miss Lu for your concern, but it’s a pity that I don’t have such a sweet burden.”

Lu Qian was surprised again and turned around to ask, "You don't have a girlfriend?"

A handsome, wealthy young doctor like Louis, who is also a humorous aristocrat, must have a girlfriend, and more than one.

Louis smiled a little reluctantly, "Although I like to please girls, I'm not promiscuous."
