Chapter 104 Conquest of the Billiards Hall

"Everyone, I just made a fortune through dishonest means, so I'll treat you all to dinner," Wang Boyang said with a smile and a loud voice.

Upon hearing the sound, Song Yang hurriedly walked out of Guo Jiahe's live broadcast room, saying with great joy, "Thank you, Brother Yang."

Wang Boyang then casually invited everyone to go out together.

Wang Boyang reached out to flag down a taxi by the roadside.

Gu Yan curled his lip and said, "Where's your luxury car?"

"Sold." Wang Boyang's answer was crisp and decisive.

Li Peiyu hurriedly explained, "Wang Boyang sold his car to support my business. He's incredibly generous."

“It’s out of loyalty,” Song Yang nodded repeatedly.

“It was Peiyu who was loyal to me first.” Wang Boyang looked at Li Peiyu with a sincere expression.

Gu Yan rolled his eyes. He was quite loyal, having served Li Peiyu for over a month. Loyal to the extreme.

Inside a private room at Yunhao Hotel.

Wang Boyang, beaming with pride, declared, "Order whatever you want. I collected ten thousand today, so spend it all and don't hold back." His demeanor suggested he was a wealthy and powerful boss.

Song Yang grabbed the menu without hesitation, his face beaming with smiles: "Brother Yang is not only righteous but also generous."

After saying that, he started clicking randomly without holding back.

Halfway through the meal, Gu Yan got up to go to the restroom.

Seeing this, Song Yang quickly said, "Brother Gu, the restroom? I'll go too."

Wang Boyang chimed in, "I'll go too."

Just after he finished using the restroom, a pretty young woman approached Gu Yan with a beaming smile and said sweetly, "Handsome, can I add you on WeChat?"

Gu Yan was stunned for a full three seconds before taking out his phone and adding the number.

Back in the private room, Gu Yan's phone kept ringing.

Gu Yan picked up his phone and quickly replied on the screen with his slender fingers.

Song Yang asked curiously, "Brother Gu, is that the girl who added you earlier?"

"Hmm," Gu Yan replied casually.

"My little sister's in a hurry, she's already chatting with me," Song Yang teased.

Lin Wanwan felt uneasy watching Gu Yan constantly typing and replying to messages with his head down.

Wang Boyang tilted his head back and took a big gulp of beer. His face darkened slightly, and he felt as if a stone was lodged in his chest, making him feel even more uncomfortable.

After dinner, the group decided to spend some time at a billiards hall.

The billiard hall features rows of neatly arranged pool tables, their green tablecloths appearing particularly refreshing under the soft lighting. Each table is adorned with an elegant chandelier, casting a bright and even glow over the surface. Along one wall, a row of comfortable sofas provides a place for relaxation.

The billiard hall was filled with a faint smell of tobacco and the noise of the crowd.

The crisp sounds of balls colliding echoed one after another, as if playing a unique melody.

People were either in small groups or engrossed in their own play, intently swinging their clubs. Wang Boyang squinted at Gu Yan and said, "Want to play a game?"

Gu Yan nodded and followed Wang Boyang toward the pool table.

Gu Yanshou's long, slender fingers gently gripped the cue stick. His posture was standard and elegant, his feet naturally apart, shoulder-width apart, and he leaned slightly forward. His gaze was piercing, fixed on the target ball, his deep eyes seemingly able to see through everything.

At the moment of impact, Gu Yan exerted force in his arm, and the club struck swiftly and precisely, the crisp sound of the impact echoing in the hall.

Under his control, the ball, as if by magic, rolled and collided precisely along the trajectory he had set.

Every pull and release of the cue was executed with fluid, seamless movements, without the slightest hesitation.

Gu Yan's facial expression remained calm and composed throughout, only revealing a subtle, almost imperceptible smile of triumph when he scored a goal.

When everyone saw Gu Yan score several goals in a row, they all gathered around to watch.

Lin Wanwan's gaze was also fixed on Gu Yan. Every move Gu Yan made on the pool table exuded an indescribable charm, his technique and temperament perfectly blended, as serious and meticulous as someone in a laboratory, making people unable to help but be captivated.

Wang Boyang stood to the side, watching Gu Yan's dashing appearance.

Sorry, Gu Yan cleared the board in one go.

Wang Boyang suppressed a smile; he had lost, yet he was so happy.

The man he had his eye on conquered him once again at the pool table.

Gu Yan slowly walked around behind Wang Boyang, lowered his voice, and asked him softly, "Do you submit?"

"I agree," Wang Boyang replied crisply.

Upon hearing this satisfactory answer, Gu Yan casually tossed the cue stick in his hand to Wang Boyang.

Then, he strode over to Li Peiyu's side.

Gu Yan had noticed long ago that Li Peiyu seemed to be the only one in the room who didn't care about his brilliant "performance" just now. She was absent-minded and would take out her phone from time to time to check the time.

Gu Yan looked at Jiang Shuchen sitting next to Li Peiyu and said, "Excuse me, please move aside. I need to talk to Li Peiyu."

Jiang Shuchen immediately got up and ran away.

Gu Yan plopped down next to Li Peiyu and asked, "You made an appointment with my dad?"

"Hmm." Li Peiyu's voice carried a hint of guilt.

"Treat my dad well. He's had a tough time too, and he's endured a lot over the years." Gu Yan's tone was serious.

"Yes, definitely," Li Peiyu replied firmly.

"So you're not angry with us anymore?" Li Peiyu asked, her eyes searching.

"I'll spare you two bastards because my dad raised me all these years."

Li Peiyu frowned and scolded in a low voice, "How dare you talk about your father like that?"

"My dad and he are both impeccable when it comes to you." Gu Yan glanced at Li Peiyu and continued, "He rebelled against my great-grandfather at the age of 38 for your sake."

"Grandpa Lu didn't accept me at first, so how did he finally relent?" Li Peiyu asked curiously.

Gu Yan couldn't help but smile slightly and said, "My dad messed with all the relatives that my great-grandfather cared about. My great-grandfather was so angry that he almost passed out."

"Huh?" Li Peiyu opened her mouth wide in surprise.

“My great-grandfather’s brother’s grandson embezzled public funds. My dad was trying to send him to prison, but he was targeted in retaliation and almost stabbed to death. Luckily, he was quite skilled and only injured his hand.” Gu Yan’s eyes revealed a hint of lingering fear.

So that's how his hand was injured; he almost got stabbed to death because of her. Li Peiyu was filled with gratitude and guilt.

"He's gone to so much for you. You can't hurt him," Gu Yan said solemnly.

Li Peiyu replied firmly, "Yes, definitely not. I won't leave him unless he abandons me. But..."

"But?" Gu Yan frowned slightly and asked in confusion.

"I want to build my own business and prove my sincerity to Mr. Lu. I hope to gain Mr. Lu's acceptance through my own abilities." Li Peiyu's eyes shone with determination, and her tone was resolute.

"Okay. Keep it up." Gu Yan patted Li Peiyu on the shoulder.

"I need to keep my relationship with your father a secret until I succeed in my business. I don't want to rely on his help."
