"Sister Jiahe," came the voice of Jiang Shuchen, who stood quietly outside the crowd.
"Shuchen," Guo Jiahe ran over happily and gave Jiang Shuchen a warm hug. "Shuchen, our Shuchen is incredibly popular!"
Guo Jiahe had just released Jiang Shuchen when her eyes darted to Wang Boyang. She instantly pounced on him like a joyful little bird, excitedly shouting, "President Wang! Our President Wang is even more handsome now!"
Wang Boyang smiled slightly and said calmly, "Come to my office."
Guo Jiahe and Li Peiyu then followed Wang Boyang into his office.
Wang Boyang deftly pulled out stacks of documents from the cabinet and said, "Sister Guo, these are scripts I carefully selected for you. Please choose one carefully."
"Wow!" Guo Jiahe exclaimed in surprise, his eyes widening. "Are so many resources waiting for me?"
"Mm," Wang Boyang replied briefly.
"What's the use of working hard yourself? It still has to be the boss who works hard," Guo Jiahe said with a sigh, his face beaming with joy.
Li Peiyu then took Guo Jiahe around the company for a while, introducing them to the younger colleagues and staff. At noon, they had a small gathering with their dormmates.
That evening, Li Peiyu invited Gu Yan's roommates to a restaurant for a get-together. After all, the two dorms had always gotten along very well. Guo Jiahe was also eagerly anticipating meeting Gu Yan and Song Yang.
When the two arrived at the private room at the hotel that they had booked in advance, Gu Yan and Song Yang were already waiting there.
Upon seeing Guo Jiahe, Song Yang immediately showed great enthusiasm, exclaiming loudly, "Big star, you're finally back!"
However, Guo Jiahe deliberately bypassed Song Yang and went straight to Gu Yan, saying with a smile, "Brother Gu, my Brother Gu looks handsome again."
This action caused everyone to burst into laughter.
"So, now that he's about to become a star, he thinks he can look down on all of us? Don't forget our friendship! If you become rich and powerful, don't forget us!" Song Yang said half-jokingly.
"Just kidding, how could I forget?" Guo Jiahe quickly replied.
After a lively meal, the group became increasingly excited and decided to go sing karaoke together.
Li Peiyu then said, "I'm not going, I have to go home."
Gu Yan then added, "I'm not going either."
Upon hearing this, Song Yang joked, "I can understand why Sister Yu went home to find her husband. But you, why are you rushing home like this? Are you also looking for your husband?"
Gu Yan replied irritably, "I'm going home to find my mom."
Song Yang said, "Go back, go back. You mama's boy."
When Gu Yan returned home, the house was empty; Gu Hongxi was nowhere to be seen.
He picked up his phone and made a call. Gu Hongxi on the other end of the line said, "I'm discussing the design of the art center with my colleagues tonight, and it might not end until very late."
Gu Yan hung up the phone helplessly, thought for a moment, and went out to find Wang Boyang.
Just downstairs at Wang Boyang's house, Gu Yan saw Wang Boyang walking home with tired steps.
Upon seeing Gu Yan, Wang Boyang instinctively asked with concern, "Gu Yan, have you eaten?"
"You've already eaten, and you're just getting off work?" Gu Yan replied.
"Mm," Wang Boyang replied simply, his face showing the exhaustion of a long day at work.
The two went upstairs together, but as soon as they got home, Wang Boyang's phone rang. Someone called to report that Song Yujie, a male member of the boy band UN, was missing and they couldn't reach him by phone.
The mere mention of Song Yujie made Wang Boyang rub his temples; he felt a headache coming on.
This rich kid often slacked off from the group and sneaked out to play. He couldn't terminate his contract, but his father provided Li Peiyu with a lot of resources.
I don't know where he hangs out during the day, but at night, he's definitely out partying at nightclubs. Luckily, there aren't too many luxury nightclubs in S City, so I can always find one if I look around.
Wang Boyang clenched his fists tightly and said anxiously, "Gu Yan, I have to go out for a bit."
"You go ahead with your work. I'll sit for a bit and then go home." Gu Yan nodded understandingly.
"Okay." Wang Boyang said and hurriedly left.
Wang Boyang finally caught Song Yujie in a brightly lit nightclub. He grabbed Song Yujie by the ear and roughly dragged him out of the nightclub.
Song Yujie winced in pain and quickly said, "Brother Yang, don't do this. I'll treat you. Let's play together for a while."
Actually, Song Yujie is two years older than Wang Boyang, but Wang Boyang is the boss, so everyone calls him Brother Yang.
"Get lost!" Wang Boyang roared, his face horribly grim.
“Brother Yang, you work so hard every day, it’s time to relax.” Song Yujie tried to persuade Wang Boyang.
"Song Yujie, do you know you're about to be on a show? If you continue to be this unreliable, you can forget about going on the show. I'm going to freeze you out." Wang Boyang's eyes widened as he warned sternly.
"No, bro, I just wanted to relax a bit before the show started, and the recording took so long." Song Yujie said with a fawning look, his eyes pleading.
"You're so troublesome, disorganized, and undisciplined." Wang Boyang was still furious, glaring at Song Yujie with angry eyes.
"Fine, fine, I'm not playing anymore, okay? Let's go to your place and have a couple of drinks." Song Yujie pouted, still unwilling to give up, and made the suggestion.
Upon hearing this, Wang Boyang was quite annoyed and said irritably, "I'll take you back to the staff dormitory."
The last time Song Yujie ran away, Wang Boyang found him at 3 a.m.
Wang Boyang was furious and gave him a severe scolding, telling him to go back to his dorm immediately. But Song Yujie insisted on coming to his house for a couple of drinks, which Wang Boyang firmly refused. Unexpectedly, the cunning boy secretly followed him to his doorstep. Wang Boyang had no choice but to let him stay the night.
Song Yujie said smugly, "I know where your house is, Brother Yang. This time I don't even need to follow you. I can find it myself. I know the way well."
Wang Boyang sighed helplessly and had no choice but to take Song Yujie home again. He thought to himself that he would personally escort him to the recording of the show tomorrow to prevent the kid from causing any more trouble.
When I got home, I was surprised to find that Gu Yan was still there.
Song Yujie looked Gu Yan up and down curiously and asked, "Who is this?"
“My friend.” Wang Boyang looked at Gu Yan and asked with a hint of doubt, “You haven’t gone back yet?”
"I lost track of time while playing games," Gu Yan said, staring at Song Yujie.
Wang Boyang said, "Let me introduce you. This is Gu Yan, and this is Song Yujie, an artist from my company."
The two people being introduced nodded symbolically.
